1. One day, when Jews & Arabs wake up...
Jake ,   USA   (05.25.10)
...they will realize that the world hates them both equally --- older brother will end the feud with younger brother --- and they will unite. The sooner Jews and Arabs join forces, the sooner they can banish the imperialist war-mongers from Middle-Eastern lands, and usher in a prosperous new age for the region. שלום السلام
2. ABBAS IS CLEARLY NOT RESPECTED BY ANYONE
stude ham   (05.25.10)
and he continues to make bizarre and unbelievable claims in public.
3. Good for Abbas!
Eyal ,   Jerusalem   (05.25.10)
Israelis who are serious about a two-state solution should also boycott goods made in the settlements....boycotting the settlements is not the same as boycotting Israel..it's one way to counter the generous subsidies that are leading to more settlement building and making the two-state solution less likely.
4. "Pals" have been hijacked since 1920
William ,   Israel   (05.25.10)
The "Palestinians" are more accurately, the Arabs living in the non-autonomous region known as "Palestine" in post-Ottoman era, have been used and abused by various Arab leaderships since the 1920s. The purpose was money and power, and to make Arab citizens angry with Israel rather than their domestic regime. The end result is a violent, disjointed population with no real desire to get off of global welfare. If Abbas was truly a Statesman, he would push ALL foreigners away and make decisions FOR the "Palestinians" by himself, rather than curtail to various agendas around the world. Today he blames Iran for its meddling, yesterday he celebrating Iraq's financial support of his shahid population.
5. #1 - Correction: only "Palestinians" should be involved
William ,   Israel   (05.25.10)
Because other Arabs are equally "imperialist war-mongers", or haven't you been up on Islamic history since 642 AD?
6. #3 - Until Abbas accepts Jewish Israel as neighbor...
William ,   Israel   (05.25.10)
the talk of settlements is moot. "not boycotting Israeli products" is not a movement of acceptance when he continually voices support for massive influx of "Palestinians" into Israel and a denial of any Jewish majority OR history in the region. In 1967 - the settlements weren't a problem, but the Arab demands to destroy Israel was. Today, their stance hasn't changed regarding Israel, but like you, they claim only the settlements are an issue. Nice try.
7. Finally, Palestinian Admission
Free Israeli News ,   USA   (05.25.10)
Finally, a Palestinian steps forward to reject Iran's interference with the peace process! Finally! Its the most intelligent thing the Palestinians have ever done. Revealing 'outside' interference from arab or arab-supporting nations is a key issue that should have been raised a long time ago. For once, perhaps, Abbas is willing to negotiate for real. He just put his life on the line, so he has everything to lose in pointing his finger at Iran. I am truly surprised.
8. He should have been talking about Iran's...
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (05.25.10)

10. to #7
Jennie ,   US   (05.26.10)
Never take abas seriously. He is, always was and will be a terrorist, a Holocaust denier, and the enemy of Israel and the Jewish people. Being a popit of chamas and fattah, who are the popits of iran,he was simply oredered to say something radical to effect gollible listeners...I got a good laugh, reading ali waked, as he writes the sensational headline - "abas slams iran"...What an insult to our inteligence...
11. Why are we bothering talking to Abbas?
Shalom ,   Ashdod, Israel   (05.26.10)
If they can't get their act together how do they expect Israel to reach a peace agreement with them (either one, Hamas or Fatah)
12. People, Abbas has no authority any more!

15. Yet again- letting it slip by
Rachmiel ,   Mechburg USA   (05.26.10)
How can Mr. Mazen's complaining about not having what he &/or the "PA" rejected ten, twenty, thirty- 60 years ago be taken seriously? Complaining about themselves not missing yet another opportunity to miss an opportunity. ENOUGH! NEXT UP PLEASE!
16. There are NO Palestinian Lands
Dan ,   Titusville, FL   (05.26.10)
Abbas needs to be told in no uncertain term that there is no longer ant Palestinian lands other than Gaza and Jordan. Can we stop this game of the West Bank and declare it sovereign Israeli land?

20. #13: your post shows u have no intelligence
Rami of Nazareth ,   Israel   (05.26.10)
if u bother to learn the history of the middle east you will find that animosity between arabs an iranians goes back to the days right after the death of the prophet. All arabs supported Iraq in her war again the common enemy Iran were not trying to be gullible...
