1. Boycott Eda Haredit Badatz
Ellen Gordon ,   Israel   (06.02.10)
Personally for me, the boycott has already begun. It only takes a few more minutes of shopping. The most difficult part has been in sacrificing my all time favorite beer and " shka`de marak". Truthfully, how many Ultra-Orthodox are great beer consumers? I call on the youth of this country to think before they drink!
2. is'nt this just what we need right now?
Martin ,   London   (06.02.10)
When willI Israelis wake up and understand. Understanding betweeen people does not come through creating more differences and finding more blame and faults, or is it thta you do not wish to ever have understanding and unity? enlighten me please
3. #2 Don't you get it?
at ALL times   (06.02.10)
Stirring up hatred is what the left is all about . That's all they do, full time. It's their raison d'etre They're not in the army so they're bored. The poisoned 'hatred for Chabad' article is not on ynets front 'page' any more, so here's the next one. Watch it happening every few days. They are such vermin and Ynet lick their lips as the bile pours in

Albi ,   Ashkelon   (06.02.10)
Number 3, it looks as if you are the one's full of hate, bile, violence, and paranoia. You blame the left for everything and don't look at yourselves and the severe damage you create in our society. There is no left to speak of. The right has run this country since Rabin was murdered, and look at what we are. Little wonder the world hates us. You are to blame.
5. Over-Badatz'd
Israeli grandma   (06.02.10)
We are a strictly kosher household, and so are all our married childrens. We are very irritated by having to pay extra for Badatz certified products including plastic spoons, paper napkins and other non eatables, when no kashrut supervision is required. Its just "jobs for the boys" at work again!!!!

"including plastic spoons, paper napkins and other non eatables, when no kashrut supervision is required. Its just "jobs for the boys" at work again!!!! " Actually, in some cases it IS required, due to manufacturing processes. Many times, special coating, that contains animal byproducts, are used in the coating of plastic utensils.
7. Brush up on the mitzwot of kashrut
Eliyahu Konn ,   Yrushalayim   (06.02.10)
And then you won't be so subservient to those who certify. The others who think they need certification for plasticware.............why is that?
8. #3 see you at the next 'hate chareidim' instalment
coming up soon   (06.02.10)
any day now. I ain't one, darling far from it in fact. You really amused us, thanks for that. You and your mates insulting and degrading our beautiful country, what else is news?
9. Clearly, many Israeli "seculars" aren't seculars at all
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (06.02.10)
People in Israel often deemed "secular" - even some who claim to be secular - really can't be compared to the assimilated or non-observant in the Diaspora. Israelis in high numbers report that they attend a Passover seder, light candles on Chanukah, and fast on Yom Kippur. This polling shows many also care about kashrut. They are by any measure "traditional".
10. Secular boycott wont work
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (06.02.10)
On this point there is really little unified support. True, seculars might desire to purchase a compatible product if it is cheaper, but the hechers are not a factor in their purchasing pattern.
11. #9, you aren't far off the mark.
Israelit ,   Israel   (06.03.10)
I consider myself secular. However, no "forbidden" foods come into my kitchen, and I don't use non-kosher food. Shabbat candles are lit every Friday night and we have a proper dinner with Kiddush and HaMotzi. But I don't buy Badatz or Kasher Le Mehadrin. Because of the hate and disdain that comes from the Haredim, because they don't serve in the military, while I have to send my sons to keep those self-righteous shirkers safe. There's no "boycott" on my part, I just want nothing to do with them.
12. not only seculars
observer   (06.03.10)
The Gurer hasidim have never used products supervised by the Eida Haredith whenever possible, and many Belzer Hasidim refuse it as well. So what's the big deal if some seculars don't want it? It's not intended for them anyway.
13. No problem for us
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (06.03.10)
as we are generally not looking at the kashrut certificate when buying food . In the great supermarket chains , food is always kosher . For us it's ther quality that counts . While living abroad i once saw a charidi man buing jam , the cheapest available , without any kosher certificate . I asked him : is this Kosher ? he , as a good Jew answered with a question : What can be not kosher in this jam ? To refuse something because of the eda charidit certificate , is stupid i thinki . If the quality and price are good , what's the problem ?
14. Raymond in Washington , and # 11
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (06.03.10)
Here seculars remain Jewish , not the case abroad where assimilated or non observant often "out marry" . Here it's less a possibility because there is the Shabbat as a rest day , the great feasts and so . So we willingly or not live something Jewish . If i had'nt Shomre Shabbat relatives and friends , my kitchen would be non kosher . At home we observe kashrut for this reason . Outside we eat everything we like . But someone who lights candles , say kiddush and hamotsi , not secular at all . I have no siddour at home , no tefilin , talit . Only a kippa whewn i neede it . That's the meaning of being secular .
15. WHO CARES
Harry ,   USA   (06.03.10)
Does anyone really care about the self hating seculars. SO DON"T BUY BaDatz. America has 309 million people with maybe 5 million jews, with almost 50% of stores carrying Kosher products. Such another sad day in Israel.
16. ... and America is manufacturing up to 50% kosher produce
m   (06.03.10)
17. Boycotting Badatz
Oren ,   Or Yehuda   (06.03.10)
This is a must for all who believe that israel is the Jewish state. We must stop terrorism of all kinds including the Haredi Terror Organization. Badatz kashrut is not kashrut, it is treif
18. #4 - fueled by Leftist self-loathing
William ,   Israel   (06.03.10)
#3 is correct. The Left in Israel is the biggest instigator of action against the State and Israeli citizens than any other group. They call for boycotts, they rush to support our enemies and even justify their violence, and they travel around to Western college campuses speaking against Israel. The Left IS to blame for everything, especially when they claim to be justified by laws which they break routinely, and demand equal rights while they take them away from others. Who are in all of the Leftist protests, like the recent one in TA against the IDF? Communists, Socialists, Anarchists, young kids who have nothing else to do and wasn't taught manners by their parents.
19. #13 - that it funds the Eda Heradit movement
William ,   Israel   (06.03.10)
which not only is against Israel and its non-Eda Heradit citizens, but also supports our enemies. Why fund that? Would you buy products knowing the proceeds went directly to Hamas?

So for you all the eda charidith are netoure karta ? Who are against the State ? I'll propse that you will never use the Zaka , Yad Sara , or Ezer Mitzion . All founded and run by charidim , who maybe also fund the Edah charidith movement . Do you know who's behind all the products you buy ? or who are the bosses of your supermarket [ one that not belongs to the big chains ] You certainly know that i'm not a charidi fan , but to compare them to hamas as you do .... Regarding the left . Say the extreme left , and then i can agree . I know that you express EXTREME ideas , i don't like extremists , be they from the left , or the right , be they fanatic religious or fanatic antis .
