Israel should have a coherent policy regarding the deteriorating situation in Israeli-Arab society. Israel should revoke the citizenship of terrorists and their family members and prohibit the families of dead terrorists from publicly celebrating their actions. Israel should take positive steps to reverse the trends toward radicalization of Israeli Arab society and pass regulations barring anti-Zionist propaganda in public school curricula and sanctioning the immediate firing of public school teachers who teach students to hate Israel. I am amazed at the total lack of any dissent within especially the Israeli legal community over the travesty of justice Israel is witnessing. First of all, an Israeli citizen is arrested. Of course, merely due to the fact that he is not Jewish, the Jewish public is willing to immediately convict him without any semblance of a trial. as long as Shin Bet says he did something, that is good enough for the Jews. The defendant is then brought to a closed heaing wherein he is remanded to custody. But, this is no ordinary custody. He is denied any right to consult a lawyer by the court itself. Kangaroo justice, Israeli style. When his family feels that he might have been torutred or otherwise muistreated while in Shin Bet custody, they are refused inspection of any medical records documenting the conditions of his incarceration. Why? Now, he is to be 'arraigned' for a 'crime which appears ludicrous on its face. "Transferring information to an enemy'? I don't recall any story about the defendant having any 'secret clearances' by the government. Contact with a 'foreign agent'? Most of all, I am disgusted with the supine cowardly stance of the Israeli legal profession as a whole. Perhaps they received their legal education from the North Korean School of Jurisprudence.
