BENJAMIN ,   SINGAPORE   (05.29.10)
ENOUGH OF ALL THAT ARM TWISTING TACTIC BY THE GAZA STRIPTIST ;-) TO THE IDF- WHEN I ARRIVE PLEASE DONT QUARANTINE MY DOG..PLEASE BROTHERs - MY DOG HAS BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND ALL THE MEDICAL PAPERS. LOOK THE PALS ARE THE DANGEROUS LOT- NOT MY DOG.:-)
2. This Looks Like A Job For The North Koreans
Dan ,   Titusville, FL   (05.29.10)
3. glad to see...
jared ,   Tel Aviv, IL   (05.29.10)
Cyprus making a line in the sand (or chartering its waters for the benefit of their survival); Israel and Cyprus are on the same side on this issue... good to see in the face of a blind world. As a student of Cypriot history, it's a good feeling to see them joining with Israel against this propagandistic vessel.
4. The flotilla is nothing about "relief", "aid" or "rescue"
Tahl ,   Ashdod   (05.29.10)
Sure, they brought some token drugs and toys with them, but seriously you cannot ship real amounts of aid in these small passenger boats. Had they really wanted to ship aid to Gaza, they could have done it in the usual procedure, of shipping the aid to the port of Ashdod, and from there through the Erez crossing - in the same way Gaza already receives thousands of tons of international aid. But no. This flotilla is clearly nothing of the humanitarian sort. It is all about a political demonstration of support to the terrorist organization of Hamas (while completely condoning their attacks on Israeli civilians), and giving Israel the finger. Just check out which lunatics are present on board - Hillarion Cappucci, Greta Berlin, Dror Feiler, etc - all bona-fide terror supporters and Israel-haters. No wonder these hypocrites refused Noam Shalit's request to send shipments for his captive son.
5. Drumming up?
John ,   Herzliya, Israel   (05.29.10)
..flotilla has already achieved its aim by drumming up international press coverage.. From what I see in the international media, the coverage is very low. Is that the real reason for a new delay?
6. An Appropriate Israeli Response
Jacob Erickson ,   Holon, Israel   (05.29.10)
A good Israeli response would be to first escort the ships to whatever port in Israel we have set up to receive them. Then, check everyone's travel papers and do a security check on them to see if they have authorization to enter Gaza (I'm assuming none of them do). Then give them a fine for not filing the proper documents for entry into Gaza. After that do a full security check on the cargo and charge them an import tax because they're just bringing in cargo and not going through the appropriate channels for donating humanitarian aid. Following that, the passengers and cargo that was cleared may be allowed to enter Gaza by land and do whatever they need to do there. And when they leave, charge them impounding fees for the boats, and cite them for trying to violate a naval blockade. And of course anyone that does not comply with these terms would be given the choice of returning to their country of origin on their expense or going to the detention center in Be'er Sheva.
7. jmho... please dont say, there was no humanitarian crisis...
eporue ,   europe   (05.29.10)
its just too ridiculous... there is one: whoever is to blame (most), it doesnt matter... the ships come to help the population - independent on who has caused the mess in the first, second, third or whatever time... and even if there was NO humanitarian crisis, then its not a plausible argument to call the ships an "enemy"... if i go to switzerland with a truck full of wheelchairs, telling the customs i want to give it to some hospital for free, they wont stop me... this foreign ministry is really subzero...
8. how can they say there is no humanitarian crisis, when...
eporue ,   europe   (05.29.10)
every MP, UN official etc, visiting gaza, always says there is a *serious* one... who in the public will fall for this... and worse: dont they care at all, what they are seen by politicians all around the world ? one might wonder, how long it takes, until this cabinet is officially announced a "terrorist organization", as hamas...
9. Israel may sink it like it sank US Liberty ship in 1967?
DW ,   USA   (05.29.10)
Since Israel got away with sinking a US navy ship and killing and wounding 100s of US marines, attacking and sinking humanitarian ships bound for Gaza is a piece of cake for Israel.
10. Entering Gaza on the true Sabbath
Resistor   (05.29.10)
I wish I could be there. Hands off the boats and the people, IDF. The world will be watching, very carefully!
11. #4 You forgot
Resistor   (05.29.10)
The Rachel Corrie is coming from Ireland with 10,000 tons of cement bags. It is a cargo ship-fair dinkum!
12. #6
Resistor   (05.29.10)
Are you of the Hebrew persuasion?? Money comes first, as always....... "Then give them a fine for not filing the proper documents for entry into Gaza. " "and charge them an import tax " "And when they leave, charge them impounding fees for the boats, " Its always about the money..........
13. Immunity
Resistor   (05.29.10)
Israelis cannot do any wrong. Anyone who puts an Israeli in a bad light will be discredited. If a jew kills someone, it is not a crime, because their g_d told them that it was OK to kill a non-jew. This is how they think.
14. To: No. 9
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.29.10)
The USS LIBERTY was a spy ship. Do you know what it did? I will tell you. While Israel was actively engaged in armed conflict with both Jordan and Syria, the USS LIBERTY was listening in on Israeli military command communications, and promptly relaying the information to both Jordan and Syria. That's why the USS LIBERTY was blown out of the water. Oh -- by the way -- let's say the United States were actively engaged in armed combat against a foe on two fronts, and -- oh, say -- the British or the French were to eavesdrop on US military communications and promptly relay the information to those against whom the United States was in combat. How long would the United States wait before blowing said British or French ship out of the water? Not too long. Not too long at all. You need to learn the facts before you start applying blame. Oh -- while we're on the subject -- how many civilian Afghanis and Iraqis have died in the indiscriminatory bombardments by the United States? Best guess is around 18,000. Methinks you need to shut your mouth. Have a really nice day.
15. To: No. 7
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.29.10)
I disagree. After all, how many Jews were turned away from Switzerland during World War II? Your argument about wheelchairs therefore fails on its face. Unless, of course, your argument is that Switzerland prefers to give sanctuary to wheelchairs rather than Jews. Is that what you're saying?
16. A threat to Israel's security
Fair   (05.29.10)
There is much support worldwide for Israel's determination to have a solid defense strategy to meet possible threats from the likes of Hizbullah, Iran, Syria etc. But what on earth is the Israeli army wasting its time and efforts preparing to stop civilian boats carrying European Members of Parliament, former US diplomats, writers, lawyers, doctors, etc, who are bringing wheelchairs and other humanitarian provisions to Gaza? Totally unnecessary and wholly misguided to the point of utter stupidity.
17. 9-how are the flying lessons going?

18. I really suspect, that Usama bin Laden
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (05.29.10)
may be part of one of the ships crews... He can hide here amongst his supporters like a fish in the water...
19. gaza flotilla delayed
juniper ,   London, england   (05.29.10)
So they are mainly French. Not surprising. during the Second World War the French also submitted to Nazism. No difference here.
20. #6 I agree 100%...
Robert ,   Brooklyn NYC   (05.29.10)
21. SHIP OF FOOLS
Ben ,   Dispora   (05.29.10)
All Hamas has to do is FREE SCHALIT & STOP THE MISSILE ATTACKS. The flow of goods & services will begin immediately. This flotilla is a joke.
22. Israel "Project"??
Dallas ,   Canada   (05.29.10)
Hamas is the "project", Israel, is a nation. Israel and Gaza are completely different kinds of entities. Hamas defines itself by its intention to destroy its neighbor Israel. Israel is a nation, has been for quite some time now. It's time that the world recognizes that. And if they can't see legitimacy in the existence of Israel, then no nations have legitimacy, and the true pirates have the moral high ground.
23. #12's response of my post
Jacob Erickson ,   Holon, Israel   (05.29.10)
So, if I were to try to enter your country's territorial waters with 8 boats filled with unknown supplies willed with hundreds of unknown people, what would happen? And what if I told your country's leaders beforehand and told them not to get in my way? Would I be detained? would I be examined and checked? would I be sent to jail? would my cargo be confiscated? And if my papers, people and cargo failed to meet the laws of your country, what would happen then? Would I be fined for illegally bringing in foreign goods? would I be fined for illegal travel? Now tell me, why would the Free Gaza movement not go through the appropriate channels, when hundreds of trucks of humanitarian supplies are going into Gaza every day. Goods are getting in, they just purposely chose the wrong way of doing it, knowing the response. I wasn't suggesting fines and taxes because I'm a greedy jew as you put forth, I was saying it because that is the punishment for these actions. Either that or we can just send them all to jail for violating a naval blockade, importation of undeclared cargo, and traveling without even trying to get the appropriate passes. That can work too.
24. Waste not want not
Harvey ,   London   (05.29.10)
Israel must not waste this golden opportunity to extend hospitality to their uninvited guests. For the passengers ,once they have disembarked , Israels equivalent of Camp Gitmo where they are made to listen to Menachem Begins speeches to the Knesset on a continuous loop. Send the food and medicines to Darfur where it is really needed and the guns and bomb making equipment to Pakistan so they can carry on doing what comes naturally. As for the boats ,they can be a new attraction at that Water theme Park next to the Kinneret .
25. #18. Another vacuous comment from Rettenmoser. Yawn.
k1w1 ,   NZ   (05.29.10)
26. International waters are Israel's in this case
JO   (05.29.10)
until Palestine is a sovereign state and at peace with it's neighbour it has no jurisdiction over water borders, according to international law. Gaza is a defacto enemy entity of Israel - it's own Charter clearly says so( calling for it's destruction, clearly at war with Israel) as does it's actions and words in Arabic Until there is true real peace - and a peace treaty with ALL Palestinians, this situation will remain. As to poverty,. there is far more poverty in Egypt and much suffering in Sudan and Darfur, far worse than anything seen in Gaza (and no continuous aid to help) Anyone seen the poverty of India, or South America or Africa, it is shocking and ignored by most of the world)
27. the difference between hamas & civilization
joe   (05.29.10)
Haniyeh doesn't give a Sh...t about his touted "beloved brothers" who elected him. He rather see them rot in this cesspool another 10 years, rather than give up Shalit. Islamic mentality at his best. I can only assume that Suicide 'en mass' will bring him closer to his allah.
28. # 16
Birdi ,   Israel   (05.29.10)
The reason is, as I have stated before; The naval blockade has been imposed by Israel beacuse Israel is currently in a state of armed conflict with the Hamas regime that controls Gaza. Under International maritime law, when a maritime blockade is in effect, no vessels can enter the blockade area.
29. # 23
Birdi ,   Israel   (05.29.10)
Good logical post.
