31. Thank you for exposing Arabs' lies
Mina ,   Haifa, Israel   (06.02.10)
Such a true article about that corrupt Arabs' culture of lies. Indeed it is so rooted in their culture that it appeares to be practised by them even well after leaving their home countries & immigrating to the west & beyond.
32. the price of arab lies article
maxx ,   belgium   (06.02.10)
is the first article posted on ynet that was worth reading on this overblown anti israel and anti semitic flotilla although the arabs are semites themselves we in Belgium know first hand that Europeans hate Jews more G-D bless Israel
33. its bad for everyone, except fanatics that thrive on blood
sam ,   NY   (06.02.10)
and unfortunatly, the fanatics are creating the agendaand bloody reality , especially on the arab and muslim side
34. As a long-time resident of several Arab states,
Michael Steiner ,   Bahrain   (06.02.10)
I confirm pretty much everything you aver in the article. One caveat though: Do not gloat at the prospect of a demise of the P.A. That would spell the onset of the final act of this entire sorry saga, and I fear it will not resolve itself in our favor as it would eventuate a one-state solution, i.e. the end of Israel.
35. To Muhammed in Jordan
hacivat   (06.02.10)
Good analyse, but the conclusion of "anger" of Mr Walt is wrong. We all count on you to open your eyes and your ratio, and try to correct yourself and your people. That was the goal of writer, not just to feel better. Can you do that?
36. The price of Arab lies.
Aaron de Haas ,   Germany   (06.02.10)
I love you. Aaron de Haas
37. @6 you must be joking
izzy d   (06.02.10)
please tell me that you can deffretiate between the msgs on the bombs and hamas teaching 6 year olds that they will go to heavean if they kill jews.
38. :: Show me a pro-Israeli article that contains...
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (06.02.10)
...the following phrases: “Israeli Occupation”, “Collective Punishment of the Palestinians”, “IDF War Crimes”, “IDF use Human Shields”? All of the above are factual and well documented however by deliberate omission of such facts Israeli writers/media also ‘lie’. Such is the Israeli culture of ‘deceit’, and the funny thing is -- it doesn’t work anymore. This pretence and whitewashing will no longer be accepted and every time Israel tries it (like now) it will be rejected in favor of a full account of the facts and not just the ‘pro-Israeli facts’ that are cherry picked to present Israel as blameless and lily white. And the ‘price’ that Israel pays for the failed PR strategy is utter lack of credibility.
39. Lies
mark ,   canada   (06.02.10)
Where shall I start? Diplomats lie. Arabs have been living lies for some time now. I am also convinced that Israel lives a lie of one sort or another. The first thing to be lost in a war is the truth. It is hard to remember a lie. Why tell the truth when a lie would serve you better? All I can say, The Military should have waited until the nasty little buggers were closer to shore. Then perhaps they could have been charged with invasion and dealt with. I have yet to see a plan showing what is called international waters for that region.
40. international intervention
Noel   (06.02.10)
In my humble opinion, the time has already arrived when the international community should resolve to return Israel to the pre-1967 borders, and enforce this while allowing a Palestinian state to form. I also do not subscribe to the argument that Israel must control more of the West Bank and Jerusalem "because it is surrounded by hostile neighbours" - making Israel larger would not alleviate that! Israel will always be surrounded by non-Israeli states, whether Palestinian, Jordanian, Egyptian regardless of its size, and presumably Israelis will live right up to Israeli borders and will always be within range of any hypothetical attack. And by treating its neighbours with contempt, as Israel has shown in its actions to Lebanon, Syria, and Palestinians, Israel incites hostility from its neighbours - the Israeli prophecy of being being the brunt of hostility is self-perpetuated. Further, the fact that Israel can form peace arrangements with some surrounding neighbours, vis a vis Egypt and Jordan, also negates the argument that Israel must have more territory for its security. Peaceful relations and mutual respect are the best means to security - exactly what the Israeli government has not been doing for some years now.
41. Those videos were staged by the IDF
Noel   (06.02.10)
42. @6 actually, you're wrong.
Zvi   (06.02.10)
The AP photographers admitted afterward that they convinced the kids to write the messages on the bombs. Even then, the kids wrote messages to Hezbollah (the military) and Nasrallah (enemy leader) rather than writing messages to the Lebanese people. In stark contrast, Hamas and Hezbollah teach babies and kids who can't even read yet to hate Jews , and that it's holy to become a suicide bomber in order to kill Jews. That's just plain child abuse, in addition to it being a blatant crime against humanity.
43. @26, @30 sigh - more ridiculous nonsense
Zvi   (06.02.10)
44. dreamers
dani ,   usa   (06.02.10)
ketab elef lilah u'lilah- thousand and one nights...
45. we shouldn't respond to Arab lies
Israel Zwick ,   NYC   (06.02.10)
These are good observations. there is no need for Israeli advocates to keep defending Israel from the viscious Arab lies. Eventually, people will tire of the arab lies, see the truth, and the Arabs will lose credibility. by responding to every arab lie, we just give it legitimacy. we should ignore them as nonsense that doesn't deserve a response.
46. Arabs lie and Israel tells half trues, PR is a weapon
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (06.02.10)
In the past Israel was better at PR or propaganda but Arabs are learning and getting better at it. Its easier to catch someone in lie than a half true but lying while still telling part of the true can have a worse backlash. Pressure for a peace deal is only going to grow in coming years and if the world see Israel as the aggressor it will be harder to get around it.
47. Obviously..
John ,   Herzliya, Israel   (06.02.10)
Obviously and despite the fact, that you are so well informed, you do not read Haaretz. You can find plenty of articles there, with all the phrases you are mentioning. But who cares about truth, if Matty knows best.
48. But they only need to fool some of the people
Danny   (06.02.10)
because they write the newspaper articles. The fake outrage they whip up means the politicians have to follow.
49. and it is the drip drip of news
Danny   (06.02.10)
that works against Israel. After all everyone "knows" Israel "committed war crimes" in Gaza. Everyone now "knows" Israel killed peace-loving activists who were trying to hug and kiss the commandos as they landed.
50. to #45
rick   (06.02.10)
Of course you should respond. The many good people of the world see the lies in the press and don't realize that they are lies. The good people of the world don't really realize that Israel, upon leaving Gaza, was attacked with 5000 unprovoked missiles in one year, before having to impose the blockade. The people of the world don't realize that if Israel tends to its own, opens the shipping, and simply lets Gaza be with hopes that Gaza will let Israel be, then Israelis will be attacked mercilessly. It is about time that Israeli intelligence in PR becomes more important that Israeli arrogance.
51. To allan - the moron - 29
Lie detector   (06.02.10)
What garbage are you talking about ? What is this "Thadiya" ? or are you inventing new words for the Arabs and moslems, Mr Mufti. Read a book before you make stupid comments
52. get your facts straight
Helen ,   Toronto, Canada   (06.02.10)
#6, get your facts straight before writing more lies. i think you've got your countries mixed up.
53. Arab lies
Sam Stoneman ,   washington DC USA   (06.02.10)
Substitute Jewish for Arab in Walt's article and what do you get: loud screams of anti-semitism and racism. Way to go Walt!
54. Islam itself and Koran built on lies.
Janice Cohen ,   ירושלים   (06.02.10)
So what can we expect from it's adherents?
55. This article is a good example of Jewish lies
hamuda ,   Gaza   (06.02.10)
this is the problem with Israeli, even if all the word said you are wrong, they think they are right, just the world is too fool to be able to understand them.
56. Tell a lie often enough and it becomes the truth
John Burgess ,   Australia   (06.02.10)
We shouldn't be smug. Arab propaganda is still widely believed amongst the naive and ignorant in the West. Every lie must be denounced and identified for what it is.
57. to #21 y wouldn't she dare, it's free media
ghostq   (06.02.10)
unless In the uk there is differebt type of media.
58. no. 45
Bashar ,   Jordanian roots   (06.02.10)
Yea yea yea, go with the old argument, who is occupying the land, this is the bottom line, who is doing bloackade, go ahead and ingore this comment since its coming from an arab, maybe one day you will wake up and realize I am just as human as you are!
59. Fool
A fool ,   city of fools   (06.02.10)
You can't fool all of the people all the time. You are 100% right . at last the people of the world are not fooled by the isrealis . Churchel once said. " it's not the end , its the begining of the end"
60. Why do people ignore the truth and make up their own
Andrew Manuel-Warner ,   London, UK   (06.02.10)
I work with a Somali person, and it amazes me how they make their own version of what happened even though they have seen the footage on the news. How much longer will they believe lies told elsewhere and not accept the truth!
