1. Barak should be dismissed
Ariel Ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim,   (06.02.10)
B"H Barak should be dismissed, he is out of his mind: he sends navy seals on islamist ship armed with toy paintball guns, against good Yitzhar kids he gives them loaded M16s.
2. Identity
John ,   Herzliya, Israel   (06.02.10)
When are we going to be informed on the identity of the "pissnicks" that were killed during the raid?
3. I also praise the IOF
Al Mujahid   (06.02.10)

(06.02.10)
As for the soldiars...Great Work you guys! you boarded 5 other vessels without a shot fired, and took over a renegade group numbering dozens with minimum casualties...KOL HAKAVOD!
6. "Thank you" IDF for doing what you do best.....
Eric ,   JHB SA   (06.02.10)
"Thank you" IDF for killing all those unarmed civilians. This is what you do best and have mastered the art of killing unarmed men, woman and children and even small babies. The IDF is holding the world record for killing the most unarmed civilians!!!
7. The lost spirits
George ,   Canada   (06.02.10)
"the defense minister told the soldiers at their base in Atlit in an effort to raise their spirits. " Since when the legendary IDF heroes need a help to raise their spirits?
8. Comments like this infuriate the internation communi showing
jack ,   jer is   (06.02.10)
the poor judgement that led to this this disaster in the first place.Barak's intention is to protect himself. In a normal country with a responsible government someone making a mistake on this level doing damage like this to the nation would be replaced and never heard from again. Here its not a government leading us but people who have gathered power in all sorts of dubious ways and therefor can't be replaced. This is called dictatorship and this is the way the country has always been led.ALL THE PROPAGANDA in the world can not erase the folly of what occurred or undue the damage.Instead of fixing it our efforts are to silence the obvious. That such efforts are successful attest to the ties the media has with these same powers. At the end of such processes lie disaster. And we're part of our own disaster by surrender to these lies.
9. Commander of the pirate ship commends his gang
Nour ,   One-State   (06.02.10)
Well done Barak! You did well, your crew also did well! The entire world is now lined up against you, and is awakening to the cries of the Palestinian people since 1948. I also congratulate you for giving us what we wanted ...i.e. to expose your criminal so-called state...on a silver platter. BURP. Thanks Barak, thumbs-up.
10. Well done Israel
Neil Turner ,   Watford, UK   (06.02.10)
May I add my praise to the IDF for its actions I believe that you had no choice but to act, and that whatever the outcome, the World's media would still accuse you I pray for the swift recovery of those IDF members injured in the defence of Israel There are many in the UK who support you. Please don't be misled by the bias of the BBC
11. Barak trying to save his skin
Observer   (06.02.10)
Barak joined Israel's most stupid government ever. He will go down with it and so will Labor.
12. Wait a moment....!!!
Eli Freedman ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (06.02.10)
Is this the same Barak, this "Mental Midget", that has been leading us from disaster to disaster in the last 10 years!!?? And he has the nerve to proclaim: " You carried out your mission properly," ..after ordering these brave men into a dangerous situation with PAINTBALL GUNS!!?? This arrogant, deceitful and condescending charltan should have been removed LONG ago....In ANY other country, he would have resigned in shame and humility... The ONLY and HOPEFUL outcome of this fiasco, is that the Israeli public WAKES UP to the incompetent, irresponsible and dangerous "Leadership" that is in charge of this country...This is a country without a "Captain", "Crew" nor "Rudder"...
13. This is odd
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (06.02.10)
Ehud Barak screws up, and he has the supreme Chutzpa to then praise others for a mission well done. Talk about avoiding responsibility! Apparently Mr. Barak did not see the films of his poor soldiers attacked with pipes and knives. What a charlatan.
14. US
Avi ,   Israel   (06.02.10)
After the six day war the mind of the politicians and army began to change from nimble frugal smart fast and sophisticated into what we see and have today and that trend still continues – terrifying and frightening. Hopefully that will stop or else we might end up swimming away from here…
15. Yeah,And do you know who will thank Barack and Ashkenazi?!

Ruth   (06.02.10)

Before the raid, you have a briefing that you have a deal with "Peace activists" (like) you came with color rifles to disperse the demonstration but terrorists waited for you with iron clubs and axes and knives, you got supried and only after you IP an approval you started to fire to protect you and Israel. IDF Most humanistic, value. moral army in the world's val. Thank you for everything. I saw on TV the video partsyou cryin for help you and i cried 'when we stop to concider of the killers and act accordingly? Thank you for everything. next time Blow up the ship from afar, please.

Concerned Citizen   (06.02.10)

18. IDF & Flotilla
Nili   (06.02.10)
The soldiers did their jobs exceptionally well. It was Barak's fault for sending them in with paint-ball guns. What type of idiot sends commandos onto a Turkish ship knowing they left their port screaming for martyrdom! If this government wants to save any face at all they MUST get rid of Barak now!
19. is there any rational reason to be proud
veysel tendürek ,   antalya-turkey   (06.02.10)

kendwell ,   Whiting, USA   (06.02.10)
Missing from ALL NEWS is discussion of International Maritime Law, and Specifics on declared Blockade, and runners thereof International Waters NOT APPLICABLE!!!! Question: If an avowed blockade runner, failing to stop, is sunk: does ship owners insurance have option not to cover damages???
23. poor soldiers
(06.02.10)
even the lied about being attacked with knives, that kind of soldiers should learn how to handle that attack, they do not have to use their gun against knives. that is easy way to fight. there is no reason to thank for this, I m not soldier but if I have gun, I can kill some people who has knives to attack
24. # 6
John ,   Herzliya, Israel   (06.02.10)
Here we go again. Is there any way to tell your washed brains that there were 6 ships in flotilla. That 5 of them were boarded without any violence, without victims. That on the sixth one, soldiers faced brutal beating and replied with gun fire. There are no children among victims, no women. But, if AlJazeera says otherwise, it must be true, right?
25. #3
dani   (06.02.10)

28. one is sure !
murat ,   antalya-turkey   (06.02.10)
no one can accuse those soldiers. They were on a mission. They acted as they had to act. But those failed. who planed the assault and sent them on the ship. There was no need for the casulties.
29. Wrong this time!
Bar ,   All around the world   (06.02.10)
The Israeli government is wrong this time! Those people wanted to give aid to Gaza, that is their right! 19 of those people from flesh and blood were killed by Israeli soldiers. And here you are, talking about a soldier who broke his arm. If someone would land on my ship I would defend myself as well. People cannot be seriously supporting this propoganda.
30. # 29
Birdi ,   Israel & proud of it   (06.03.10)
9 were killed, not 19.
