32. Wake Up, Israel!
Robert Blum ,   New Albany, USA   (06.03.10)
Last month Russian commandoes boarded a ship and captured dozens of Somali pirates. You can see them on YouTube, handcuffed, cowering, helpless. 24 hours later they were all dead. The world yawned, rolled over and went back to sleep. Why? Because the Russians don't give a damn what the world thinks of Russians. And the world knows Russia can't be brow beaten, cowed, manipulated and conned into apologizing for acting in their own interest. Do you think any pirates will try to hijack a Russian ship any time soon? The world dumps on Jews and Israel because it knows Jews are obsessed with proving how liberal, humane and caring they are. The more they try to prove it, the more the world relishes dumping on them. Jews should learn from Russia! When Muslims 'the religion of peace' (Ha, Ha!), murdered 90 Muslims in a mosque recently, where was Chavez? Erdogan? Europe? nobody blinked an eye! Only against Jews will the world readily dehumanize us and go for our throats!
33. Thank you, Joe Biden. May the Lord bless and protect you
Rivkah   (06.03.10)
for your uncommon wisdom. May you be the President one day as a reward for your kindness and understanding to the Jews. The Prophet Zechariah said the Messiah is coming to judge the nations for how they treated the Jews. Keep America a sheep nation so that during the Millenium reign of the Lord, things will go well with America. The goat nations who mistreat Israel and the Jews will suffer condemnation from the Lord while the sheep nations will be rewarded.
34. Irit, do me a favor
Med Student ,   TA, Israel   (06.03.10)
Educate and grow up a bit, before you go on bashing other people. Especially the ones who have a sober-enough view on life to see things as they really are.
35. #1: points well-taken....
Rafi ,   US   (06.03.10)
.... # 30, Irit: could you possibly be more ignorant and racist? One wonders if you really are "Israel Forever" or some sort of anti-Israel provocateur?
36. Joe Biden: Ezekiel chapter 32 may be President
Rivkah   (06.03.10)
Obama's fate and the leader at the end of the chapter is likely you who mourns his passing in the land of the Chaldeans from an attack on US forces there (Iraq).
37. Is he id*ot this guy
turkish ,   turkey   (06.03.10)
it looks that he is a mentally retarted man

if you are israeli at all or just pretending to be.
39. To #10
Evan Gildenblatt ,   Cincinnati, OH   (06.03.10)
“It is permissible under rule
67(a) to attack neutral vessels on the high seas when the vessels
“are believed on reasonable grounds to be carrying contraband or
breaching a blockade, and after prior warning they intentionally and
clearly refuse to stop, or intentionally and clearly ...resist
...visit, search or capture.”
-San Remo Manual on International
Law Applicable to Armed Conflicts at Sea (12 June 1994) Read up, buddy
40. to #30 irit you got some temper
ghostq   (06.03.10)
sound like you r in... never mind I won't say something nasty. anyway I noticed people from TA r weirdos.
41. Hmm.
Tal ,   Haifa, Israel.   (06.03.10)
I honestly think people should pass an I.Q test with a score of over 90 in order to be able to post comments about articles around here. Too bad words don't require a license.
42. I enjoyed and appreciated post from #1.
Janice Cohen ,   ירושלים   (06.03.10)
43. # 35
Israel Forever ,   Israel   (06.03.10)
I see that Irit has just tried to clone me. I am Israel Forever, a true supporter of the Jewish people & Israel. Irit, dont try to clone me, nor steal my nic again.
44. # 16
Israel Forever ,   Israel   (06.03.10)
Wrong, the aid is not sitting on the docks. Israel has delivered the aid to Gaza. Its not Israel's problem that Hamas made problems in accepting the aid. Israel kept to her word.
45. "Irit, TA" at #30 is probably Shirin, Gaza.
Tahl ,   Ashdod   (06.03.10)
This is an obvious attempt to create divisions between Israel and its friends worldwide. I can't, and don't want to believe a real Israeli would be so stupid.
46. #5 - Iran already did the same thing
William ,   Israel   (06.03.10)
Remember when they boarded a UK ship in Intl waters, kidnapped the UK soldiers (who surrendered - and no violence resulted), and were used to gain concessions from the West to secure their release? I don't recall an emergency UNSC meeting or recalling of ambassadors from Iran by European or Latin American nations.
47. #10 - Obama was a civil rights lawyer
William ,   Israel   (06.03.10)
He hardly has the expertise to comment on Intl Law, especially Maritime Law. But wouldn't that be hypocritical of Obama anyway considering the US Navy manual supports the exact actions Israel is taking vis-a-vie the blockade and stopping the flotilla?
48. #8 - And watch no Intl media coverage of it
William ,   Israel   (06.03.10)
The world will ignore the rivers of blood that will result if Israel let's down its guard. The world is hypocritical anyway. At times when Israel won against a battle with terrorists, and ONLY terrorists were killed or injured, the Left still decried it and attempted to make the terrorists into victims, freedom fighters (akin to poor Amazonian Indian farmers) and even civilians.
49. the result
bern ,   phil usa   (06.03.10)
turks now want nuclear weapons??
50. #16 - they were civilians until they lifted a pipe
William ,   Israel   (06.03.10)
at that point, they became combatants and are not innocent. The Ashdod offer was valid, as was the Al-Arish one made by Egypt. Do not speak for Israelis - they know skunks when they smell one - and this flotilla (and its supporters like you) stink to high heaven. You think the blockade is unproductive? Hamas' approval rating is below 22% and they would lose an election tomorrow. Gazans are more malleable towards peace and need to be prodded more. And major rockets/explosives are kept out of Gaza - relatively speaking - keeping both Israeli and Gaza civilians safe.
51. It's always the same
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (06.03.10)
We have the legal right - but shouldn't actually exercise that right. And the rest of the international community treats international laws as non-existent if we fail to exercise them. Time to tell the entire world where they can get off. Our only mistake was that we didn't sink the boats instead of endangering our soldiers.
52. #11 you got it
adler ,   USA   (06.03.10)
I currently live in the US but I am from Israel and my entire family is still there and Tal you are 100% correct. The rest of the world isn't like us, too many, when confronted by terrorism quickly give in. We stand ALONE.
53. When will Turkey appologize or we will send aid to the Kurds
adler ,   USA   (06.03.10)
Turkey sent a ship to run a blockade in support of Hamas over one of her allies. This is almost an act of war, worse the Turkish forces attacked the IDF. Shouldn't we be demanding an apology and full explanation from them? Or perhaps we should start sending "aid" to the Kurds?
54. What do you expect from Masonic person brought to power
(06.03.10)
brought to power with the help of American Zionist money, who funded his election campaign? that is why they got humiliated from Israeli (like during his last visit to Israel)and shut up.
55. #1 Chilese American at princeton
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (06.03.10)
I am married to a Chinese American and have two steps sons, oldest a Phd student at Princeton. Unfortunately the results of this incident is definitely a big loss for Israel in the PR world at least in the short term. But we must stop thinking with our emotions and start seeing the facts: 1. As per international law Israel had all the right to raid the ships. You can study the legal details - Geneva and Helsinki protocols and conventions etc. - yourself but VP Biden mentioned it. 2. Breakingteh steering gear or propeller all sound good on paper but not very easy to do.
56. #1 Chilese American at princeton - part 2
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (06.03.10)
3. Usually these actions are PR efforts to show the world that Israel is not letting food and medicine in so the the world would say "shame on Israel", pictures and headlines would be on the first pages of international media and world wide demonstrations would follow. However this time the organizers were Turks, and a known extremist organization called IHH (Islamic aid organization) not the respectable red crescent. IHH is despised by teh modern secular Turks and they have known ties to Hamas. Furthermore IHH had tried to bring aid to Gaza a few months ago through Egypt but was stopped by Egyptian authorities. They knew very well that Israel would intervene. Among the passengers of Mavi Marmara there were some actors and writers of an anti Israeli provocation movie Called AYRILIK. They were looking to create trouble and bloodshed for most PR impact and they succeeded. 4. In the Islamic word life is too cheap when it comes to Cihad. We all know about the suicide bombers. In this ship a women brought in her 1 year old baby knowing that the mission was dangerous. She displayed her baby for photo ops. As I said my wife born and raised in the center of China would never risk her children like that. 5. There were several boats in the convoy. Mavi Marmara was predominantly Turkish with a Turkish captain. All other boats surrendered relatively peacefully with no major incidents to Israeli military. Only The mavi Marmara resisted violently and isn't it interesting that all teh causalities are Turkish? (Even the one USA citizen is Turkish born in USA but moved back to Turkey at the age of 2) There were also other nationals in the boat including Palestinians/Arabs none were seriously injured. I guess either they are cowards while Turks are the courageous or maybe and most likely all the Palestinians were trying to do is make a peaceful resistance but their Turkish brethren who happen to be ultra fanatic messed it up for them. 6. A captain of a passenger ship is responsible of the well being of the passengers on board. There are rules and regulations about this. All other ships surrendered not allowing any causalities while the only Turkish Captain in the flotilla decided not to obey the orders of a military ship (legal or illegal does not matter. What matters for the captain is saving lives) I believe that if this captain would be tried for his actions in a court could be found guilty for endangering the lives of the passengers that included a 1 year old baby and held responsible for the causalities. 7. And let me finally tell you a little detail not spoken but important: Mavi Marmara was a Turkish boat under Turkish flag. Just recently was sold by the Turkish authorities to this shady Islamic aid organization for less then its actual value (1.8 million Turkish Lira). What is interesting is that as soon as it sailed for this mission while on the water it was secretly re registered under Comoran Islands. WHY? is the question. The answer is: Turkish authorities knew Israel would stop the ship. They were prepared to create this carnage by sacrificing the passengers for their Cihad. But if a Turkish flagged ship is attacked by Israel this would be CASUS BELLI an act of war. To avoid such escalation they re registers it at a small nation that would not dare attack anyone. This alone is proof that the Turkish government (and I emphasize the word GOVERNMENT) acten in bad faith as a provocateur in this matter. In the short term they might feel winners but I hope that the entire world can see the realities and understand it.I am aware that ther are many great secular Turkish students at Princeton and they also oppose the actions of AKP. The fault is not in the Turkish nation but lies with the current government.
57. #10 You are wrong. Interrnational laws, conventions and
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (06.03.10)
International laws, conventions and protocols allow a country to establish blockades, enforce it and if has a prior knowledge or suspicion about a ships cargo intervene even in international waters. From purely legal standpoint you have no argument at all. You should study the Geneva, Helsinki conventions and protocols about maritime laws and blockades.
58. #37 Turkish from Turkey
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (06.03.10)
You asked if Biden isidiot. Well you must be an expert in knowing this because you have been ruled by the idiots of AKP for the last 8 years.
59. it's not just a 'Right' Mr. Biden it's a SECURITY OBLIGATION
David P. ,   Capitola, CA   (06.03.10)
we'll see more of Biden after Obama's impeached or does America a favor and resigns
60. #1
ABRAHAM ,   TORONTO   (06.03.10)
since i hate long posts-i will try to make it short. As a very strong supporter of Israel in the past present and future, I can honestly say----I think Israel played right into their (JIHADISTS) hands. Israel knew or should have known that these were not 'peace boats' We msut remember- wars today are fought on internet and t.v. We also know that the media loves to bash Israel,,,,,and now you have a very big mess with a lot of collaterol damage. IM NOT SURE WHAT THE ANSWER IS--------THERE MUST BE A BETTER WAY ! TEAR GAS FOR EXAMPLE ? stay strong Israel !
