and he takes his orders from his Persian master Ahmadinejad.
3. Israel trying to formulate an answer
Chris Linthwaite   (06.03.10)
to the fact that not one activist was arrested on charges of terrorism. Also there is a concerted effort in the International media to try and discredit the IHH with charges of being linked with terrorism. Which really does show the desperation of Israel's position in trying to continue the siege of Gaza.
4. :: Further proof...
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (06.03.10)
“Cabinet members initially refuse to succumb to Turkish ultimatum, but US request leads them to change their decision” Further proof as to who controls Israeli policy and decisions.
5. so iran threatened USA in Turkish matter
ghostq   (06.03.10)
sound like Turkey economy will suffer since her great buddy Iran will be under sunctions, and she will have to beg Iran for some money. which Iran won't have. looks like karma in full gear.
6. Bad call - there will be "a long legal discussion" anyway
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & New York   (06.03.10)
Israeli leadership may have made the right decision for the wrong reasons. Turkey, and its supporters will make sure that there is "a long legal discussion" regardless of what Israel does. It is part of their delegitimatizing strategy for Israel and the Palestinian cause. More importantly, with the polls showing the current Turkish government would loose elections now they need to play to popular support and hit Israel hard. Expect to hear war crimes cases and charges for every Israeli official going to the UK, Spain, or other places where the laws are set to allow misuse.
7. to #4 matty or that Turkey is Iran province.
ghostq   (06.03.10)
you see the prisoners can't be in Israel cause other wise Iran can find that excuse, cause the others she maxed out, in this case USA don't want to give even the smallest chances that Iran will use not to obbay. but it's too late, the flotilla is connected to Al qaeda aka mass murderers I think the next move to be kickTurkey out of Nato. if Iran won't obbay. and the Amerikan can do just that. you see it wors both ways.
8. to #6 don't bet on it you see they got short memory
ghostq   (06.03.10)
they don't even remember they excuted the arab leaders during the ootman mandath in Israel. and they r alive, so no shaid status either.
9. Screwed by the Friends again
Jonny ,   SA   (06.03.10)
Screwed by the West again. As long as Israeli's suffer the consequences of the Wests inability to deal with terrorists, terror will continue. When will you realise that the State Departments of all these countries are and have always been against you. You will notice that Russia and China have been very quiet on the issues. They understand the question of Muslim Terrorism
10. Turkey and Gaza
Sidney ,   New York US   (06.03.10)
Israel should stop supplying goods and services to Gaza. The supply of all goods and services should be taken by Turkey. Israel should cooperate with Turkey by supplying a list of goods and services presently supplied and by sending Israeli military vessels alongside the Turkish supply ships.
11. THIS IS NOT A GAME OF CARDS
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (06.03.10)
That Israel released all the activists in order to allow USA garner support for sanctions on Iran. The game is not on and nothing of that sort will happen.Let's bet on it.
12. Dog commands another dog and the other dog commans its tail
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (06.03.10)
That is Turkish Proverb we use for such case A dog may command another dog and Lowest level dog cannot find any lower dog to command and only command its own tail Israel obviouly will rise its ears whan USA whistle
13. Let Pollard go first
Rachmiel ,   MechburgUSA   (06.03.10)
If the US wants Israel to release the terrorists so the US can have an easier time (pretty much a joke) in the (fake "peace") talks; let them go, but only after Pollard is let go.
14. Let Pollard go first
John Robey ,   USA   (06.03.10)
Pollard is a traitor whose actions cost the lives of dozens of assets in Eastern Europe....he should rot in prison..
15. #14 - Sorry John...
earl mann ,   toronto, canada   (06.03.10)
You are misinformed either out of malice, or ignorance. Pollard was not responsible for ANY human assets being exposed, or killed. That was solely the doing of Aldredge Ames - not Pollard!
16. apeasing erdogan will bring the same results chamberlain got
bernard ross ,   st anns bay jamaica   (06.03.10)
17. I don't think so
IRAN#1   (06.03.10)
This report is nonsense. Israel kidnapped these folks in international waters. They could not hold them as hostages. Even Bibi is not that stupid.
18. Pure BS
Kadir ,   Turkey   (06.04.10)
So the US pressured Israel in order to secure Turkeys vote on the Iran issue, but they didn't get it and the vote had to be postponed. But the US doesn't even need the vote of Turkey because they already have 9 votes. This is not Logic, this pure BS. Israel succumbed to Turkeys ultimatum, because it's the natural order of things. Stop making excuses and get used to it!
