31. According to the witness accounts...
Nour ,   One-State   (06.06.10)
The soldiers wept profusely, like little girls. Some begged for their lives, and some asked for mercy. So much for Zionist "deterrence". Truth be said, it must be a horrifying experience to be a pirate. All pirate entities should expect a dramatic demise, and the day is coming.
32. Dont try to spin it!
Concerned Citizen ,   Dubai, UAE   (06.06.10)
This clearly showed that the activists disarmed and took care of the 'commandos' in return they killed unarmed people. This is cowardice not bravery.
33. IDF soldiers
Gabriela ,   Tel Aviv/Israel   (06.06.10)
I am against showing these pictures of our Elite soldiers in public, it is embarassing and does not change anything on the facts. It weakens our Image of having one of the best Commado units of the world and it will do only damage.
34. Turkey's Hypocracy!
Rich ,   Fresno USA   (06.06.10)
Turkey should be the last country to offer lectures about the conduct of other nations, especially when we consider the shameless record of violence and aggression by Turkish leaders, both at home and abroad, over the course of more than a century: 1) Turkey aggressively denies the Armenian Genocide, pressuring America to remain silent on this crime, and prosecuting its own citizens who speak truthfully about this atrocity. 2) Turkey has been illegally blockading landlocked Armenia since 1993. 3) Turkey invaded Cyprus in 1974 and continues to occupy over a third of this nation. 4) Turkey has destroyed thousands of Kurdish villages, uprooting millions of Kurds, and denying tens of millions of its own Kurdish citizens of their basic human rights. 5) Turkey denies the Sudan Genocide and provides arms to the Sudanese government, led by Omar al-Bashir, who has been indicted for war crimes. 6) Turkey continues to impose official restrictions and unofficial pressure on the Armenian, Greek, Assyrian churches and on other minority religious groups. 7) Turkey's leaders foster domestic political support by taking anti-U.S. and anti-Israel stands: Among the best selling books in Turkey is Hitler’s Mein Kampf; one of their most popular films, Valley of the Wolves, features a Turkish nuclear attack on Washington
35. ?!
Tzur   (06.06.10)
That is no "defence" against Israel soldiers. That is attacking them. Peace activistits?! Really? Are you that blind? Are so morally twisted that u can not see the truth? Stop making up stories and telling lies to the whole world.
36. I agree with you guys
sercan ,   Turkey   (06.06.10)
I am from Turkey, but I can say that this ship was not aid ship for sure, they just wanted to screw up everything abut relationship between Turk and Israel. I dont get it really what my president to do, he is out of control.
37. #17 About the Schrodinger’s cat.
George ,   Canada   (06.06.10)
Although theses picture are evidence still can be interpreted both ways. Your version: “ It now is fundamentally clear what had happened.” I say no it is not. You are interpreting the picture as nice soldiers being attacked by an angry vicious mob .You see only this side. The other side of the story is the soldiers illegally stormed a foreign ship that have the right to defend itself. I believe Israeli will do the same if any is trying to board forcibly any of their ship. Although they are peace activists, but they are against Israeli actions toward Gaza blockade and the conflict should have been expected and anticipated. 3- It seems at the first moment of the clash the ship activists have the power over the commandos and if they were willing to kill any of commandos the result could have been much worse to Israeli. Wrest fighting, or throwing over the boat deck into the water isn’t a live threatening to soldiers and is not in any way an excuse to use deadly weapon. It seems the whole story hasn’t been said to the end yet and full investigation is now more than before needed.
38. Recognize Armenian Genocide!
Ruben ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (06.06.10)
Its time we do that. Now more than ever.
39. # 31
Birdi ,   Israel   (06.06.10)
What witnesses ? did you talk with them ? when did you talk to them? Somewhat difficult for you to talk to them when you, yourself live in USA. Until you can back up your post with pictures or links, your words have ZERO credibility.
40. # 12
Birdi ,   Israel   (06.06.10)
Oh yes, and how do you think the 9 "activists" died? by eating too much humous, maybe? When oh when are you going to start using your brain poor Salma?

45. tardy
Crash master ,   neipu taiwan   (06.06.10)
Well, you attack a ship in the middle of the night in international waters, you don't get served tea and cookies. But you knew that, right?

48. Yes beaten.. by PEACE activists.
myself ,   A town   (06.06.10)
quote: "They are hurt by not FIRE ARMS but just hand to hand wrestling with ---Peace Activist ----" Now I didn't know that peace activists get involved in physical violence. Maybe you have a different definition of the term. By the way, those pictures only prove that the soldiers had no intention to open fire but boarded the ship to inspect it. You should be thankful that they were comandos. Otherwise, there would have been a lot more body bags. They took a beating but didn't open fire for as long as they could. Very proud of those guys. By the way, where was the turkish humanitarian aid during the last events in Haiti when hundreds of thousands people died? And why didn't you deny Israels help after those earthquakes in Turkey a few years back? Open your eyes....
49. #39 My sources?
Nour ,   One-State   (06.06.10)
Easy, I watched the interviews with two Kuwaiti ladies. Also other interviews on Al-Jazeera with countless turkish accounts (which are separate from the Kuwaiti accounts). You know, Aljazeera is the globally popular TV station banned by the US, Israel's hijacked bed fellow. Both accounts said, and I'm quoting: "the young soldiers' fear was overwhelming obvious in their eyes".
50. # 37
Birdi ,   Israel   (06.06.10)
"the soldiers ilegally stormed a foreign ship that have the right to defend itself" WRONG. Now read & learn some true facts. "The Helsinki Principles on the Law of Maritime Neutrality." Merchant ships flying the flag of a neutral State may be attacked if they are believed on reasonable grounds to be carrying contraband or BREACHING A BLOCKADE & AFTER PRIOR WARNING they intentionally & clearly REFUSE TO STOP or intentionally & clearly RESIST VISIT, SEARCH or capture or DIVERSION."
51. RE: Sad
Jose ,   New Zealand   (06.06.10)
This proves that Israel soldiers are the best in the world. Believe me, if this attack was directed at the American or British troops, all on board would have been wiped off. To me it does not show the weakness of the commandos but their strength. After being attacked like this, they did not retaliate at random, but only killed 9 men whom are believe were responsible. Shame on you Turkey!
52. # 41 see how israeli vessels chasing our boat 4 in morning??

IHH sent aid to Haiti and USA wright after Hurricane Katrina and operates in 100 countries. IHH also took the isrel government to court in Israel on the ground that they are labelled as terrorist linked group
55. To our brave, dear Israeli soldiers
Mina ,   Haifa, Israel   (06.06.10)
I believe I write on behalf of many Jews/Israelis when I thank you for defending us. I was angry, shocked & weeped for days, when I first saw you being lynched in those videoes. I am now in total grief after seeing you suffering in these photos. We all know that the IDF is one of the most ethical & moral armies in the world but what you were made to suffer should have never happened. I want you to know that we all love you, admire your strength & courage & are very thankful that you have survived such horrific lynching. We owe our lives to you, you are our heroes. May you fully recover & alway know that we support you. May God Bless each one of you & keep you safe for ever. Long Live Israel & the IDF!
56. The damage for the IDF is immense
Chtis Linthwaite   (06.06.10)
the fact that a group of peace activists could have killed these soldiers at any moment but didn't shows that the use of lethal force by Israel was disproportionate in this case. Hence Netanyahu latest attempt to change the narrative to not all activists were violen, apparently there was a group of people on the boat who were seperate from the activists. However, a big hole in Israel's argument is the fact that not one person on that boat who were taken prisoner by Israel has been charged with any criminal offence. If as Netanyahu contends they were merceneries onboard why were they not arrested? If there was as Deputy PM Ayalon contends there was Al Qaeda onboard why were they not arrested? Is it because they are making it up as they go along like the tape proporting to ask the Israeli soldiers to go back to Auschwitz?
57. #45 law, #29 gays
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (06.06.10)
International Law is quite clear: After the Captain refused to change course, Israel has the legal right to sink the ship. The presumption is that he is intentionally running the blockade because he is bringing weapons (like the Karine A), soldiers (which he did) or money for Hamas (which he did). The crew and passengers do not have the right to attack the soldiers, just like a rioter does not have the right to attack a policeman in Istanbul. If such a thing happened in the streets of Istanbul, all the participants would have been hanged (at least the ones who would have survived the Turkish jail). Israel's problem is that the government is incapable in defining Israel's interest and acting in like. and #29, why do you make an issue that one of the soldiers is Gay? Why do you care? So what?
58. #40 Birdi, Turks, too, eat hummus?!
Salma ,   Palestine   (06.06.10)
Birdi, do you think killing 9 unarmed people is a self-defense?! If you read well, I said the "poor IDF" soldiers, don't know how to ATTACK or how to DEFEND .
59. # 49
Birdi ,   Israel   (06.06.10)
Nour you would not stand a chance in a court of law with your answers. You say, "the soldiers wept profusely, like little girls. Some begged for their lives, and some asked for mercy." I asked you for back up & all you can provide is, "the young soldiers' fear was overwhelming obvious in their eyes." Of course the soldiers had fear in their eyes. But where did the "2 Kuwaiti ladies" say "they begged for their lives" I dont believe one word of your story. Try pulling the other leg !! If you think we will accept Al jazeera as a credible news outlet, you are living in la la land.
60. Nour,aren't u shamed?
avi ,   israel   (06.06.10)
