1. REMOVE IT ALTOGETHER!!!
Yitzchak ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (06.06.10)
Why do we even need it? Does it commemorate anything that benefited our country? No. It commemorates a battle that took place on our soul between 2 nations at war with each other - nothing to do with us. And considering the atmosphere with Turkey going bad and probably NEVER recovering, I say remove it altogether!!!
2. show some respect

3. defaced memorial
guest ,   the netherlands   (06.06.10)
' Civilians who came upon the damage began cleaning it themselves, and were soon joined by municipality workers. '. It's just nice to read such things :) Let's keep in mind that soldiers all over the world just follow orders...
4. I didn't find anyone in Turkey..
American ,   Los Angeles,US   (06.06.10)
condemning Ahmadinajad yet.On the contrary he has his biggest support from the turks.
5. Dear Israelis Turks are your frinds
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (06.06.10)
Do not attack Turks or Turkish memorials. Turks are your friends. If you want to attack - in a peaceful protest way - you can attack the AKP government and the IHH. Soon these Turkish extremists will be ousted by the secular modern educated Turks. Things will change. When you use violence to express yourself you end up not different then the terrorists in the Mavi Marmara ship.
6. I agree with Anton
Rachel Avraham ,   Netanya, Isreal   (06.06.10)
While I am just as upset about the Flotilla and the AKP as every other Israeli, I still think that it is ethically wrong to express our opposition to the AKP by destroying Turkish graves. How would we feel if Jewish graves in Turkey started to get vandalized because of current events? We should treat these Turkish graves in the same manner that we want the Turks to treat Jewish graves in Turkey.
7. # 6 It is NOT a graveyard/cemetary.
Yitzchak ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (06.06.10)
There are no bodies and no bones. It is ONLY a plaque and a memorial. It cannot be compared to a real cemetary. And as far as cemetaries in foreign lands. Honey, it's the galut. It's their territory. They are gonna do what they're gonna do, no matter what we say or do.
8. It is a insult to Jewish history
Mark ,   USA   (06.06.10)
500 years of solid country opened its doors to my family and every Jew seek security and peace came to Turkey and never been bothered, this is Israel gives you medal one day and declares you enemy the next day, everyone should agree with Israel or else, we will show you who we are ,we have a big huge bulldog called USA we will make him attact on you, so you better agree or else?thanks Israel makind USA hate all the muslims, poor USA ,so afraid of Israels AIPAC
9. #4. Why would the Turks "condemn" Ahamadinejad?!
Persian CAT ,   USA   (06.06.10)
Let alone the fact that I detest the guy, let's not forget the Iran and Turkey have had a long history with one another which has been rough some times and very good at others. The Iran-Turkey border was demarcated in 1620 and it has not move, violated or contested at all. So for Israel, which was created by using terrorism to drive the locals away to occupy their land almost 60 years ago, to claim it is as important to Turkey as Iran is but a wet dream that has ended in a nightmare. This story has just begun. Stay tuned.

You are the real face of peaceful Israel. Keep raising your voice because this is what we need. We have to be louder then those Israeli extremists who believe that an eye to an eye is the response to everything. Tiny Israel did not survive for having a strong army. It survives and thrives because of its intelligent resourceful determined people.
11. thanks rachel and david

12. #8 Turkish Jews were "never bothered?"
Sue ,   Los Angeles   (06.06.10)
Look up "Istanbul Synagogue Massacre" in 1987. For Jews living in any of the Muslim countries - it was never a picnic.
13. When will Turkey apologize for Armenian genocide
zionist forever   (06.06.10)
At around the same time those Turkish soldiers were killed in a battle their leaders were having that same army we are building memorials to commit genocide by murdering 1.5 million Armenians. Turkey has constantly refused to admit to genocide Last time the subject came up Erdogan said muslims can't commit genoicide. When Turkey can build a memorial to the victims of genocide it carried out then we can start talking about Israel having memorials to Turkish soldiers.
14. #9 - Arab terrorism drove locals away
William ,   Israel   (06.06.10)
Glad someone had the guts to admit this, Persian. Only in the early 1990s did the architect of the Deir Yassin massacre lie admit it was a hoax during an interview on the BBC. He claimed it was to draw in the arab armies but instead made thousands flee without ever seeing a soldier. He called it their biggest blunder in history. The PLO leadership also acknowledged this in recent history. Israel was the only State created by Intl majority vote, and Jews who arrived prior to 1948 purchased land. They didn't expel anyone and the land deeds are proof. I won't bother to go into the details of the illegal Arab economic migrants who squatted on open land - the people you call "locals".
15. You see Anton
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (06.06.10)
just as there are some idiots among the Turks - like the IHH and AKP supporters - There are also a few among Jews who do not know what they are talking about and mess up. What is important is not to allow these idiots take control of our societies. Unfortunately Turkey has been hijacked by AKP for 8 years. Israel also has a few of them in her administration. There are many Jews and Isrelis who fight the idiots inside israel. Gideon Levy, Akiva Eldar, are just two examples. There are manyin Turkey also such as Emin Colasan, Kadri Gursel, Cuneyt Ulsever etc. What I have been trying to explain to enlightened Turks her is that as I have my hands full to fight the idiots among my society you have your full to fight those like Tayfun in your society.
