1. There is no need for a probe
Frank ,   Canada   (06.07.10)
2. Model for Iran to monitor its own nuclear program
Tania ,   USA   (06.08.10)
Another model that Iran can use: Israel’s nuke program has been going on for 60 years without any 0 (zero) international monitoring
3. nobody wants to really probe this thing
oferdesade ,   israel   (06.08.10)
the number of al qaida and other para-military nutcases on the boat could not have slipped by so easily. what it means is that erdogan lied to israeli intelligence, or even worse - turkish military intelligence did. what this means is that nato or the americans cant trust turkey any more because erdogan's influence on what was once a trustworthy military is too strong. the implications of this are much wider than the israeli context - they backfire into turkey itself. israeli intelligence (sorry for the oximoron) knows its been lied to; the US, europe and nato know who did the lying and to whom. they extrapolate. the potential damage to israel here is so far wide of what erdogan intended that either 1. he is finished or 2. the whole country is going down the drain - westernwise. what would be brilliant - or truly israeli intelligent - would be to give turkey a ladder to come down on: make a big show out of giving turkey the "success" of convincing us that the siege must be loosened. this strengthen turkey on account of iran. we can name our price (security-wise - hell, we might even be able to convince hamas that turkey is a better ally for them than iran). let's just pray that bibi and byvette bardak arent as stupid as they have made us all think they are.
4. Probe?!
EDG ,   NY   (06.08.10)
The world should probe why Hamas has not revoked it's charter to destroy Israel, and why Iran is allowed to develop nuclear weapons while publicly threatening to "wipe Israel off the map." When will the countries of the world grow a spine?
5. This is idiotic....
Danny   (06.08.10)
what possible purpose can this serve. We all know what will happen: 1) Quite reasonably it will say that the commandos fired in self-defence and there was clearly violent intent on the side of the people that boat. This of course will be called a "whitewash" by all the anti-Israelis it is meant to calm down. 2) It will probably make a load of criticisms about the operation. These will get cherry-picked to make Israel look bad. 3) In the end nothing will change because Israel will continue to use enough force to get condemned - which is ANY show of force - and nowhere near enough to achieve their goals.
6. Israel must not accept any foreign observer
Frank ,   Canada   (06.08.10)
Admitting a foreign observer means that Israel is a colony.
7. by the UN or by Turkey
observer   (06.08.10)
An investigation, either by the UN or by Turkey, is required to find if the use of force was proportionate to a claim of self defense.
8. The commision should adress Erdogan's role as a provocator
Ariel   (06.08.10)
Erdogna's behaviour borders with the definition of aggresion; Acknowledgelly sending well trained combatents in between old ladies, and stab/beat with metal clubs others nation soldiers should be a base to sue him in the International Court of Law. Aggresion by a government is among the mandates of this court. There is no argument that the flotilla travelled hundreds of miles to meet the Israeli Navy, knowing that they were entering war/military conflict waters. I think that there is also bases to ask for a civil compensation in Israeli Courts against Turkey. There are grounds for pursue this compensation through Nato as Turkey is a member and should be oblied not to make aggresive steps without NATO approaval.
9. Hypocrisy
Ralph Levy ,   USA   (06.08.10)
Any external board of inquiry would be a kangaroo court. Israel made one mistake that no country should make. Israel has to stop apologizing for every action, and she has got to stop making concessions and getting nothing in return. The building freeze was probably the greatest mistake that Bibi has made during his tenure. Israel has become the laughingstock of the world because Israel would not stand up and defend herself. People like Peres Olmert Livni and Ehud Barak has done more to damage Israel's deterrence factor than any other leaders in the history of Israel. Israel should immediately get back to deterrence factor and respect for other nations by doing the following. Refuse to go back to the peace talks. Israel should also attempt to replace the government of Jordan and make it into a Palestinian state since 80% of the population is Palestinian anyway. Israel should also create a public policy of mutual assured destruction designed to protect Israel and the Jewish people from destruction and threat. That policy would be design against any country that threatens to destroy Israel either militarily, economically, or physically. The same policy would be used to protect the Jewish population in any country of the world so that there is never any possibility of another holocaust. Again I stress that Israel must not succumb to pressures of the outside world for a international inquiry. No other country the world is being held in the highest standard. It would only invite more pressure on Israel, invite another war, and would only be a kangaroo court. http://ralphsrant1.blogspot.com
10. Whitewash
Michael ,   Haifa   (06.08.10)
This is just a subterfuge to ensure that Netanyahu and Barak are absolved of all blame for what is seen everywhere as a collosal mess-up
11. #7 Lets probe Turkish atrocities in occupied Northern Cyprus
Tahl ,   Ashdod   (06.08.10)
This probe committee should be headed by Cyprus and Greece, with Israeli observers.

vladimir ,   San Francisco, USA   (06.17.10)
Israel is living in real world. It takes witnesses, documents, facts and neutral participants. Israel did not made STATE LEVEL of properly an intentional, antisemitic meeting of "flotilia". Enemies has "killing" people, but Israeli friends have very small evidensses. Sinceely, Vlad
