1. Ah yes, the ingredients for explosives and rocket fuel...
Erastus CoupeDeVille ,   Ong's Hat, NJ USA   (06.09.10)
soda, juice, jam, spices, shaving cream, chips, cookies and sweets... lets not forget cement.
2. what the !@#$?
Gedalyah ,   Israel   (06.09.10)
Why should Israel let in ANYTHING while Hamas still has one of Israel's soldiers as a hostage? Israel is a sucker if they help Hamas. Can you imagine the USA sending soda, juice, jam, spices, shaving cream, chips, cookies and sweets to the Taliban? What a joke.
3. careful
jj   (06.09.10)
they dont enrich uranium, make nerve gas or ballistic missiles out of that stuff. hope the iaf is on call to drop some more bombs. the blockade is so justified in keeping this dangerous material out for the past 3 years.
4. Not at all, #1, BUT!
John ,   Europe   (06.09.10)
1) Hamas requires fertilizer for "crops and food" - but uses it for explosives. 2) He wants "tubes for infrastructure, like water and sewers" - but uses it as rocket body and qasams I agree with you about the prepared food, though. I would much rather like international forces there to come and build from international aid.
5. no change has been felt on the ground - Hamas still blocking
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & New York   (06.09.10)
What is Hamas still not letting aide in and blaming Israel for restrictions?
6. That's hysterical!
Andy ,   Israel   (06.09.10)
Egypt maintains the blockade for several years letting even less pass through than Israel. It then opens up its border and wants to claim the Muslim glory by saying "Egypt is the one that broke the blockade" Just pathetic and sad, but then they are still celebrating their Yom Kippur war 'victory'
7. Weak appeasing government!
Jay3 ,   Israel   (06.09.10)
The more they attack Israel, the more we appease!!!! Sickening! Why send luxury items to the same people that want us destroyed? They are fat enough already and definitely dont need sweets!
8. WHAT ABOUT GILAD SHALIT?!?
ben yaakov ,   herzlia il   (06.09.10)

12. Give them nothing until covenant changed
Yehoshua ,   USA   (06.09.10)
Hamas wants to kill the Jews, We are at WAR Goals of the HAMAS: "The Islamic Resistance Movement is a distinguished Palestinian movement, whose allegiance is to Allah, and whose way of life is Islam. It strives to raise the banner of Allah over every inch of Palestine." (Article 6) Jewish incitement: The Day of Judgment will not come about until Moslems fight Jews and kill them. Then, the Jews will hide behind rocks and trees, and the rocks and trees will cry out: 'O Moslem, there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him." (Article 7)
13. NEVER FORGET
Duchess   (06.09.10)
after 9/11, and after every terror attack when babies, children and old ladies and innocent bystanders got blown to pieces, they celebrated on the streets of Gaza by handing out sweets!! And danced as well. Why give them sweets?
14. HAVE ABBAS DRAW UP A LIST OF ITEMS
steve ,   Israel   (06.09.10)
Surely he wants all those who voted for Hamas to live better. No?
15. Where is the Int'l outrage over Shalit??

16. #10
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (06.09.10)
What is the hang-up with coriander? Gazan farmers grow all the coriander Gaza needs. Next you will complain that Israel is ruining the Gazan economy by allowing the import of coriander.
17. Ease blockade=Gilad Shalit
newyorkone   (06.09.10)
Memo to the government of Israel-Please, please, please-NOTHING, NOTHING, until Gilad is released.
18. Those products were banned ????
SomeOneTellsMeWhy ,   Sussex   (06.09.10)
Can someone please give a reasonable argument on why juice, soda or Shaving cream were banned ?????????? This is just unbeliavable, I thought only potentially dangerous goods / or goods that xcan serve to build dangerous stuff were banned !!! This is quite bizarre... and quite sick at the edge !
19. when they go on like that, it will take a very bad end...
eporue ,   europe   (06.09.10)
20. #15 - Israel is blockading Gaza because it is
Erastus CoupeDeVille ,   Ong's Hat, NJ USA   (06.09.10)
at war with Hamas,,, this Shalit guy is a POW... when the war ends, POWs get released. International outcry? Try crying to Mossad... he is a prisoner in a blockaded/closed off enclave.
21. No change has been felt on the ground
montasser ,   gaza   (06.09.10)
No change has been felt on the ground. We ,the palestinian people living in gaza strip, are eager to feel real peace and freedom. We are not eager to eat shokolade or trink kokakola!! > All population in gaza are in an open prison managed by israeli forces and our sons and daughters ,about 12 thousand are still captive in their cruel prisons . Many of these prisoners of war has been their for more than 30 years!!. You can get shalit free today if you let some of our prisoners free.
22. Absolutely no need for flotillas now.
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (06.09.10)
And if they do come, for goodness sake, take off the kid gloves.
23. The problem with coriander (and other spices)
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (06.09.10)
Explosives can be hidden in the midst of sacks of spices, and the scent of the spices masks the explosives from the sniffing dogs. The stronger the spice, the more easily explosives can be concealed.
24. banned products #18
Freddy ,   Kokhav Yair Israel   (06.09.10)
Those Muslim terrorists do not shave the beard, why would they need shaving cream ? When they succeed killing innocent people (9/11 or suicide bombs in buses or restaurants, they sing and distribute sweets. Why should we give them the sweets ? One soldier rots in prison and even Red Cross is not allowed to visit....should we reward them with juices and soda for that ?.....Nothing bizarre....and sick to think it is.
25. blockade aesement
henryk ,   ramat gan/israel   (06.09.10)

JO   (06.09.10)
Pictures of Gaza Ramadan 2009 in the Arabic press online show no shortage of sweets and cakes and the come from somewhere sofrom where? Egypt??????
27. sweets and jam for Gilad
Israeli sucker   (06.09.10)
Thats great news about the shaving cream and sweets. Gilad Shalit will be able to get a regular shave and enjoy his favorite TV shows with his sweet care packeage courtesy of Bibi and Co.
28. Why Is Israel Afraid Of International Investigation?
World Citizen ,   the world   (06.09.10)
According to your government the raid on the humanitarian aid ships was carried out with all legality and your soldiers were only protecting themselves against the attacks of the "lynchers" and "activist terrorists". Your government should welcome an international investigation with open arms to prove the terrorist intent of the aid ships. Now you want to be decent and let in things that were only on the embargo list to punish innocent Palestinians. Let them have a Coke as the sit outside under a tarp surrounded by the ruble of what was once their home. How nice of you.
29. The lies Israelis tell...
Mikesailor ,   Miami, FL   (06.09.10)
Does anyone remember that Israel told the world that the blockade and siege were to keep weaponry away from Hamas? I guess these items were what? Dual purpose items which could be considered war material? Beware a Palestinian with shaving cream or jam, his only purpose is to use such items to attack poor, defenceless Jews? Now the Israelis say that their 'collective punishment' of the Gazan civil;ians was to release Shalit. I suppose they don't understand that the actions of blockading civilian items from a civilian population is, and should be, considered 'state terrorism'. Deliberately injuring innocent civilians for whatever political gain is the lowest form of political blackmail.
30. to #11
Nataly   (06.09.10)
Palestinian hostages "rotting" in Israeli jails? They are not rotting - they get food, drink, tv, allowed to walk about the jail and get family visitation. Lots of these "hostages" are terrorists, unsuccessful suicide bombers (oh poor guy/girl his bomb did'nt go off.) They are not in jail because they are innocent. Gilat Shalit was gaurding the border and was then attacked and kidnapped. His family doesnt get visitation, phone calls or even letters from him. I can't even dare to think the conditions he's living in.
