1. No need for n investigation then
Dina   (06.10.10)
If this is going to court then why do they need international representetives in the inquiry. It will all come out in court anyway.
2. BE PREPARED FOR COUNTER SUED FORM ISRAEL
BENJAMIN ,   SINGAPORE   (06.10.10)
3. Bring it on, baby! Battle of the lawyers!!!
Brian Cohen ,   PeoplesFront ofJudea   (06.10.10)
Anybody wanna take bets on whose gonna have the better legal team? Take the case to international crimes courts, they say? Bring in Goldstone? Sure! Here's what Goldstone had to say: "... the [Goldstone] report contains the clearest finding that Hamas and other militant Palestinian groups committed serious war crimes and possibly crimes against humanity. The acceptance of those findings by the Human Rights Council and the General Assembly has been ignored completely..." Richard Goldstone, Interviewed by Ha'aretz, Nov 13 2009
4. worse than the Merchant of Venice
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (06.10.10)
Obama has spent two yours ignoring American problems, instead focusing on forcing Israeli to surrender to US puppet Abbas. Sadly, Obama has succeeded in stopping Jewish building in Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem as well as countless other concessions. Now, the Egyptians and Arab League have decided to recognize Hamas, spelling the end of Abbas and all of Obama's plans. Hopefully Netanyahu will be smart enough to realize what this means: the world will never give the Jew the right of self-defense even when attacked by a government that proudly announces it will exterminate the Jew. Any attempt at self-defense will be considered a crime and the Jew will be punished. It's worse than the Merchant of Venice.
5. THE CHUTZPA KNOWS NO BOUNDARIES
M   (06.10.10)
6. Do I understand correctly that...
Carsten Schmidt ,   Germany   (06.10.10)
... Turkey is now actively cooperating with the Hamas terror organisation? Now, this makes Turkey to a terrorist state and the government to a terrorist government.
7. turkey and hamas...
e l pratt ,   atlanta usa   (06.10.10)
The turkey/hamas alliance is not the one that Israel needs to be concerned about. It is the russia/ turkey alliance that should be of concern to Israel. They are business partners in the gas industry that is supplying europe and definitely do not want to see a competitor in the region. The discovery of the Leviathan Gas Field is both a blessing and a curse for Israel since it promises both financial freedom and the threat of a major confrontaion with the woeld's number super power, russia, and the regions largest military force, turkey. Sha'alu Shalom Yerushalayim.
8. so who is suing whom?
John ,   Boise, Idaho USA   (06.10.10)
So, where do we go to file lawsuits against those who fire rockets into Israel, and nucleaur threats, and slander against the people of Israel...the list goes on
9. Hamas, Turkey to work to sue Israel
Enwhycentral   (06.10.10)
Hamas has a JUSTICE minister ???
10. Laughable
J K ,   NYC, USA   (06.10.10)
Hamas and Turkey to seek justice? Where is the justice for Israel suffering from 10 years of rocket attacks from Gaza? Where is the justice for the Kurds who Turkey has been oppressing, or for the Armenians who suffered their own injustice at the Turks hands almost 100 years ago? Not to mention, if Egypt lifted the siege, then the Gaza Arabs can get supplies that way. Why Israel doesn't cut out the aid and electricity at this point is anyones guess.
11. Hahahahaha
arabs never make ,   any sense.   (06.10.10)
Omg, stupidity has no limits, huh?? :D we have so much evidence that those aboard the marmara were terrorists with intent to hurt/kill, that the judge, whoever he may be, will laugh his ass off off the accuser! this is gonna be so much fun to see how turkey and hamas will embarrass themselves in front of world media, wow, i cant wait! bring it on ;-)
12. Armenian Genocide WILL pass
Richard ,   London, UK.   (06.10.10)
Turkey is finished. Without the help of the powerful Jewish lobby, the Armenian Genocide will definitely pass next time. After that, we can start a campaign for the autonomous freedom to the 22 million Kurds living in South East Turkey. Then lets put our full weight behind Cyprus & see if the Turks like the next 'Annan Plan' when this time we influence the UN & US to make it pro-Greek this time.
13. recognition of the government in Gaza ! this is the key
Salma ,   Palestine   (06.10.10)
wonder, does Hamas really want to sue "Israel"?! Ungrateful !
14. siege on gaza? what siege?
jcenter ,   jerusalem, israel   (06.10.10)
THE MYTH OF THE SIEGE OF GAZA Gaza is not cut off from the outside world. In the last year, the markets of Gaza have been flooded with produce and merchandise. From June 2007 (the date of the Hamas military takeover of Gaza), overall monetary transfers to Gaza have totaled over $5 billion from governmental and extragovernmental sources.     There is also an established economic system of Palestinian imports from Egypt via hundreds of tunnels operating under the control of a Hamas government that grants approval for operating them and collects taxes from their owners. The tunnel network has increased imports from Egypt to Gaza from $30 million annually during the years 1994-2006 to more than $650 million annually.   to read the entire article click here: www.jcpa.org
15. Hypocrites love-in
Mike B ,   London   (06.10.10)
In the UK this is a fine example of the saying "The pot calling the kettle black". Erdogan is an opportunistic thug who is hell-bent on pulling the whole of Turkey down to his level.
16. only in this ass-backwards world...
DR ,   Florida, USA   (06.10.10)
can a terror group sue a nation trying to protect its borders and water ways. Ridiculous!
17. How does Hamas have standing to sue for the raid?
Historical Observer ,   USA   (06.10.10)
No member of their "organization" was on the boats so where do they see position in this new pr stunt? All that aside, with blood on their hands they know this is just another ploy to keep the subject and incident in the public eye even longer. None of them really expect this to go forward and reach a favorable conclusion. More media tactics to make Israel look bad. Could backfire and create desensitization to the situation, only time will tell.
18. Their plot is in vain
Arrow   (06.10.10)
I doubt that Israel will expose their officers to international court. And sharia is outlawed in civilized countries.
19. #3
jj   (06.10.10)
Oh thats all he had to say on the topic? that Palestinian groups committed serious crimes? i seem to remember him mentioning another party in his report... oh well, you know best.
20. HAhahahahahaha.now thats funny!
Jay3 ,   Israel   (06.10.10)
Getting sued by terrorists!!!! Hahahahahahahaha
21. Lunatics
tiki ,   belgium   (06.10.10)
The world has gone 'completely LUNATIC, and this is ONLY because of the 'Obama administration (who nobody takes seriously anymore), and the laughable EU. "The cat is out of the house, and the mice are dancing".
22. #12
(06.10.10)
There is no "powerful Jewish lobby" in Washington, just Jews who are given some faux-respect so they will donate their hard-earned money to corrupt politicians. No one will free the Kurds, the Turks and Arabs don't want another pesky free country after destroying Lebanon and Israel.
23. Wait Turkey, till Israel makes a mincemeat of you....
Alex ,   Chennai / India   (06.10.10)
Yes, exactly. Israel should internationalise the Armenian Genocide commited by Turkey and also take up the cause of Turkish Kurdistan and Cyprus. Also, it was a blunder on part of Israeli govt. which helped the Turkish govt. to crush the Kurds.
24. Please do...
Danny   (06.10.10)
Look forward to seeing your evidence!
25. Too stupid even for Turks and Hamas
Rachel ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (06.10.10)
Fine, they sue us and our soldiers whose identities were intentionally revealed in Turkish press and by Reuters will countersue for ruining their military careers in an elite unit where secrecy is vital. The lifetime earning potential of one Shayetet 13 soldier is enormous. We may also sue Hamas and Turkey for violating a blockade which is, in reality, an act of war. Then we sue the Turkish government for damaging our international reputation with slanders comments and libelous articles in their state-owned press. Then we add damages for trade infractions, tourism damage and last but not least, we sue them for being too stupid to belong in the region. This should keep the courts busy for a while.
26. TURKEY & THE PALESTINIANS
Brant ,   New York   (06.10.10)
History 101: Turkey (re: Ottoman Empire) subjugated the palestinians (along with Jews) for over 200 years ! Doesnt anybody see the hypocracy?
27. At least Egypt is acting maturely RIGHT ???
M. S. ,   mpls america   (06.10.10)
I realize that the blockcade has not weakened the Hamas people at all if any thing it is counter productive and so helps them and so Israel should end the blockcade because it is not producing results if any thing it has a negative effect up on morale Israeli soldiers want to believe they are the good guys not the blockcaders and so as for legal action again I agree Israel should pay benefits to the victims and so their own imediate familys RIGHT ??? Thank You... M. S.
28. And after Abbas remarks
Nigel ,   Canada   (06.10.10)
over West Jerusalem, Hamas is scheduled to win next elections in all of Palestine. Good look all!
29. The Truth Hurts
Resistor   (06.10.10)
To Mark from Poland, Ben Ish, and Birdie: When Israel is shown in a good light, the story runs unchanged. When Israel does something bad, the spinners come out with complete lies to make Israel look good, or appear to be the victim. Right, right???
30. Yea jj - bring it on. I'm not afraid
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (06.10.10)
I don't think Israel has anything to fear from the Goldstone report, despite the fact that it was utterly biased and incorporated uncorroborated innuendo without verifying many of the Palestinian obligations. I'm also willing to bring in Goldstone, despite the fact that he truly was an apartheid tool who sent black men to their deaths. I think when push comes to shove, we can show that Hamas did indeed start the Gaza war, is guilty of war crimes, and that Israel was exercising its legitimate right under international law to protect itself from said Hamas war crimes. Did shit happen during Cast Lead? Of course it did, most educated people understand that war is about killing people and most of the time innocent people get caught in the crossfire. But read between the lines in the few paragraphs Goldstone did write about Hamas. His words speak volumes, and implicate not just Hamas but also Fatah for their polices of decades of war crimes. Bring 'em on!
