1. The way to deal with Gaza...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (06.11.10)
UN Security Council resolution 242 has been the basis for all peace talks and agreements to date between Israel and the Arab world. 242 calls upon Israel to withdraw its armed forces from territories captured during the June 1967 Six-Day War, which it fully did with regard to Gaza. 242 does not mention or even hints at the need to set up an additional state in the region, Gaza included. It does assume, though, that based on negotiations with Israel for the establishment of secure and recognized boundaries, the relevant Arab state - Egypt in this case - would assume control over territories that Israel vacates. Therefore, it is high time Egypt, the largest Arab state, shouldered responsibility and absorbed Gaza, the smallest Arab territory, which it had controlled until 1967. All, and first and foremost the residents of Gaza, will end up benefiting from such a move. So, why not do the obvious and simplest in resolving the Gaza predicament...??!!
2. Because Erdogan Rules
Kemal   (06.11.10)
3. Hamas operatives, Iranian intelligence offices, etc. and we
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (06.11.10)
were told by the naive people of Europe and America that these ships are full of "peace loving" participants. I wonder, was it simple naivete or a sinister outlook on the national home of the Jewish people or perhaps both that motivate some people abroad to collaborate with the worst elements of international terror and Islamism...??!!
4. Dear Erdogan, did you know beforehand...
Nora Tel Aviv   (06.11.10)
that Abu Rashid called Amin Abu-Ibrahinm the chief Hamas fundraiser in Europe) and Yasser Muhammad Sabag (Syrian liason officer between Damascus and Tehran) were two innocent peace activists (!) on board of the Marmara ?
5. to (3) Jehuda Ben Israel
tiki ,   belgium   (06.11.10)
If Israel 'frees these terrorists, without any consequenses, why blame the Europeans as being 'naive. ISRAEL should know better and STOP being naive and play mr. niceguy. It won't be appreciated anyway.
6. Netanyhu panicked
Steve   (06.11.10)
A few immoral condemnations from Obama and other international hypocrites and Netanyahu ordered the immediate release of these terrorist killers. I could not understand why these jihadists were not held for a few weeks until cooler heads prevailed; until they were sorted out, but no. Netnayahu, when he is under pressure, he panics. He does not keep his composure.
7. Please do not insult our logic
Monastras ,   Istanbul   (06.11.10)
Either you are ignorant or naive. How do you believe a manupilated news that a terrorist was on the ship? These guys were roaming in Turkey and Isrel but they were released? Polic in Turkey didn't check when they were in and out.In turkey police eand security forces know how many times you a take a breath every day
8. Israel's leaders earn contempt
Steve   (06.11.10)
Another news site is reporting the following today: "Israeli troops avoided the use of non-lethal riot gear against passengers on a Gaza-bound flotilla in order to appease United States President Barack Obama, according to the World Tribune. Quoting “diplomatic sources,” the paper said Obama nixed the use of equipment such as tear gas to stop the flotilla and demanded that Israel “exercise extreme caution and restraint.”..... "Little worms!"
9. WHY??!!
Christy ,   Boston, US   (06.11.10)
10. Israel is desperate to link this flotilla to terrorism
Chris Linthwaite   (06.11.10)
but the fact of the matter is not one protestor was arrested and charged with terrorism. This has been pointed out hence this story, apparently no terrorists were arrested because Israel didn't recognise a one handed chief fundraiser for HAMAS in Europe. The stories are getting more and more improbably, but will probably gain traction in the United states which is where this garbage is aimed. Hold your hands up admit you made a mistake give the families of the dead $1 million each and let it go.
11. bin laden was in the ship too
peter42y ,   lisbon,portugal   (06.11.10)
according to our sources Bin Laden was in the Mavi Marmara also. His mission was to strengthen Al Qaida cell in Gaza . It is really a pity he was realeased with more 30 Al Qaida Top members. Iranians were also in the Mavi Marmara. Their objective was to transfers weapons of mass destruction know how to the evil Hamas. In short : Most of the evil people on earth was aboard the Mavi Marmara.
12. terrorist'activists' released
moron ,   galut   (06.11.10)
israel apologizes for defending itself thus whetting the appetitites of its enemies and dicouraging its friends
13. #6 Steve. Exactly right.

14. Israel desperately clutching at straws
Ben Alofs ,   Bangor, UK   (06.11.10)
I think Israel was wise to release Amin abu-Rashid. At a time when Israel's standing in the Netherlands is at an all time low, it would surely have been stupid to piss off the Dutch government a little bit more. Amin abu-Rashid is a Dutchman of Palestinian origin. He is not a terrorist. He is what one would call a confessional politician. I know my country: there are christian democrats, jewish democrats and muslim democrats in the Netherlands. Amin abu-Rashid belongs to the third category. This just shows how much Israel is clutching at straws in a desperate attempts to divert attention from its act of international piracy, where it attacked a Turkish ship in international waters. The people on board of that ship had all the right in the world to resist the takeover with whatever means they had. The latest footage of Hollywood based filmmaker Lee offers graphic evidence of Israel's piracy.
15. # 1 is correct with regard to Gaza, and he would be if
Shauli   (06.11.10)
he suggested that the West Bank become part of Jordan for the same reasons.

17. Freeing top terrorists=ultimate outrage
DT ,   TA Israel   (06.11.10)
If this true this is UTTERLY unforgiveable. If I where Gilad Shalits father I would be incandescent with rage at the government
18. I have big claws directed at Israel on every single occasion
Ben Alofs ,   Bangor, UK   (06.11.10)
it is the guilty party without any need on part to know that facts or acknowledge them when they stir at me.
19. It is high time
Ruthi ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (06.11.10)
that we stop bending to Barack Hussein Obama who is a disaster not only for the US and Israel but the whole free world. Under his short tenure he has managed to play into the hands of Islamic radicalist and fascist regimes more than anyone before him, thereby giving them more power and legitimization. Looks like our PM wanted to please Obama once again by releasing all those captured, even before all intelligence info on they were was on hand. I hope at least our Government will learn from this mistake.
20. netanyahu is nothing more then
JL   (06.11.10)
obamas little doormat
21. #16 Dani
Chris Linthwaite   (06.11.10)
Video cut and spliced to provide evidence for Israel's narrative of events on board that vessel. The fact is Israeli soldiers boarded a Turkish vessel in International waters and proceeded to kill 8 Turks and 1 American citizen. No amount of spin provided by Israel will change that stark fact. No Israelis died despite Israeli assertions they were shot at, and 8 Turks and 1 American civilian did. That of course is the only fact that matters, and attempts by Israel to muddy the narrative before agreeing to an International Enquiry Netanyahu saiid wasn't going to happen indicates that the International community aren't convinced by Israel's arguments either. And the day just got worse for Netanyahu with 15 minutes of unedited video which has not been tampered with by the IDF has just turned up. Further undermining the Israeli narrative.
22. #10, except there is a video of him on the ship
Danny   (06.11.10)
See #16.... Aren't facts a pain.
23. #21
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (06.11.10)
Why do you keep whining about the "American citizen"? His own family said that they are not sorry but proud because he died a shaheed attacking the Israelis.

Lazerbenabba ,   London, England   (06.11.10)
You and Salma the so called Palestinian persistently spout your rubbish in these talkbacks. Is this because Al Jesera have enough lunatics with more fanatical views and therefore the only space is unfortunately that which is given by Ynet. Your unbalanced views are given no credence by the vast majority of respondents, so do yourself a favour and stop wasting your time and our patience. It would appear that facts have no room in your diatribes but only basis is your anti Israel, anti Zionism, anti Jew or whatever else you like to call your standpoint. You camouflage your prejudices as informed opinion which is patently not the case; you and Salma are merely giving vent to frustrations that cannot be appeased as Israel with its admitted shortcomings is still the most Democratic and powerful state in the Middle East; ACCEPT IT AND GET A LIFE PREFERABLY NOT IN THIS ERA!
25. #22 Danny
Chris Linthwaite   (06.11.10)
They sure are. Including the biggest fact of all. Israel having arrested those on board the flotilla then transported them to Israel proceeded to release every single one of them after checking passports and fingerprinting them all, are only now over the last several days making accusations that terrorists onboard. The fact that Israel failed to recognise a one hand man as being the chief fundraiser in Europe is an absolute howler. Which further muddys the Israeli narrative of the events that occured on Monday 31st May. If there were terrorists onboard why weren't they arrested? Just shows how desperate israel is becoming as the international pressure refuses to go away, that they expect us to believe they didn't recognise a one armed man. Pure comedy now.
26. #22, on second thought
Chris Linthwaite   (06.11.10)
I've reread your comment and I would like to apologize. I looked up Abu-Rashid in the Dutch press and I see that you guys are all right. I think the IDF was stupid to release him, but it does prove that there were terrorists on the Marmara. I apologize to you all.
27. Nobody is that stupid
Robert ,   Brisbane, Australia   (06.11.10)
"Hamas fundraiser and Syrian official serving as liaison officer for Iranian intelligence" He also masterminded 9/11, is responsible for the 2005 Asian tsunami and finances Afghan drug lords.
28. #25 Sorry Chris, many people are'nt seeing things your way
Scott   (06.11.10)
There's enough evidence that those on board the ship were combatants - they were there for a fight- you dont need guns to kill people - iron bars and slingshots will do...even a good kick to the head...or..dropping a guy over the rails on his head...and all those things DID happen. Look...you seem really desperate to convince readers otherwise. Honestly, you're wasting your time. Just be happy that the first days of this incident breaking - caused Israel massive PR damage. But, those of us who dont make up our minds immediately, preferring to wait for the facts to emerge- now see the the reality emerging , and its really not following your interpretation - sorry sport. Give us a break .Stop insulting our intelligence.
29. #26 Chris Linthwaite
flyingdoc57   (06.11.10)
Don't fall for the zionist propaganda stick by your principals, you make valid points that the Zionists can't refute so they resort to publishing statements in your name that aren't true.
30. #24 Lazerbenabba
Chris Linthwaite   (06.11.10)
Well I am sure ynet wouldn't publish my comments if they held no credence, or were deemed anti semitic or vehemently anti Israel. The fact is you don't agree with my comments which is fair enough, I probably don't agree with yours when you have something substantive to say, I am sure I will share my views when you do. Like the sly accusation of anti semitism, linking it with being an anti zionist and anti Israel which covers all your bases, and the camouflaging my predjudices as informed opinion bit is priceless. I am sure you are taking to task those who are prejudicial to the Turks, Iranian or Palestinians. if not aren't you showing your prejudices? It is alright to attack a race or people as long as they are not Israeli? Fact is I send my comments to Ynet who choose to publish them. You click on my comments to open them thereby choosing to read them. You do have a choice whether you want to read them or not. I suggest you exercise that choice.
