Economically Turkey is more important to US than Israel and military they are about equal. Israel is mainly export and imports little from US except weapons/fuel which US gives its(3B per yr) but Israel has a lot of political power in US, mainly through money along with 8% of Congress Jewish, with only 1.6% of population is Jewish. In reality Turkey is far more important for US, for trade, NATO and keeping Russia in check.

Many here automatically assert or hint that AIPAC is behind this letter.
