1. Palestinian prisoners were convicted and get visitation
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & New York   (06.12.10)
Hamas needs to live up to the minimum requirements for prisoners of war before they can compare the "plight" of the Palestinian prisoners to Gilad Shalit.
2. So much for Egypt "breaking the blockade"
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & New York   (06.12.10)
Egypt knows that only trouble will come from letting all the aide into Gaza.
3. thank you egypt !
Galut ,   selah   (06.12.10)
Egypt prevents hundreds of activists carrying Palestinian flags, trucks carrying humanitarian aid from entering Strip via Rafah Crossing; meanwhile
4. Hamas says no Red Cross visits for Shalit
galut ,   Selah   (06.12.10)
want to be recogized by the intnl community... abide by thier rules...if not may your path be covered with thornes....
5. Palestinian prisoners get better treatment than shalit
tulag ,   macintosh   (06.12.10)
Khaled Mashaal said Saturday that the Gaza blockade should not be linked to the Gilad Shalit issue. The Hamas leader said that Shalit is just like the Palestinian prisoners held by Israel ============== And I bet the red cross gets to see them ======== Khaled Mashaal anyone can see you are just toying with israel.....your dishonesty is imprinted on your face
6. Meshal
Daniela   (06.12.10)
the Gaza blockade is indeed linked to the Gilad Shalit issue and to terrorism. Israel wanted to free 1000 palestinian prisioners, BUT YOU REJECTED!
7. LIAR-Mashaal
Birdi ,   Israel   (06.12.10)
Mashaal is wrong. Gilad Shali is not just like Palestinian prisoners( in Israeli jails) who have visits from the Red Cross & their families. Gilad Shalit has never had a visit from the Red Cross nor his family.
8. LMFAO !!!
flyingdoc57 ,   Florida, U.S.A.   (06.12.10)
9. As harsh as it seems
Steve from Raleigh   (06.12.10)
Israel should declare Shalit K.I.A. and refuse to negotiate anything based on whether he might be alive. Any conversation that Hamas ever raises with the name Gilad Shalit in it should be ended with He Is Deceased and have the Israelis get up and walk out of the room.
10. mr terrorist mashaal if shalit is like
Barney ,   USA   (06.12.10)
any palestinian prisoner then he would have access to red cross. the difference is not in the prisoners-it is in the morality of the people holding the prisoners. Israel is a moral entity and hamas is an immoral terrorist gang of thugs. also, where is the world's outcry about egypt's blockade. the lack of it is proof that the acts against Israel are nothing but Jew hatred plain and simple. Egypt recognizes that hamas is a terrorist organization. gosh it is all so darn simple to see isn't it?
11. All of a sudden
Christopher ,   Boston, MASS   (06.13.10)
NoBama, clinton, and their House Jew have lost their voices
12. Egypt, under UN Security Council Resolution 242, should take
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (06.13.10)
over Gaza and incorporate it into Egypt, thus ensuring law and order in Gaza and a lot of assistance from the international community.
13. Until Shalit returns allow NOTHING but food and medicine in
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (06.13.10)
and let the world and the gazans cry and moan. THEY are the problem, let THEM be the solution.
14. Egy's just play around
Arrow   (06.13.10)
Egypt does not like hamas, but it does not like Israel either. However, egy receives much money from USA, so they have to be in 'peace' with Israel. All that they do, lifting up blockade and such, is just parade for the (arab) world, so they look like 'good guys' in whole story. On a side note, palestinians killed Sadat, the only egy politician that was open to democratic views and signed peace treaty with Israel.
15. Where is all the outrage from the Arab world,
jared ,   orlando   (06.13.10)
the protests, the riots, the hateful anti-egyptian speeches on 24 hour constant news cycling....oh the humanity, not so here..... a classic example of the double standard to which israel is held
16. #1 - They get visitation? How? People can't even leave Gaza
lara ,   Australia   (06.13.10)
Who's visiting them? Israelis? Between September 2000 and August 2008, an estimated 6,700 Palestinian children were arrested and de-tained in Israeli prison facilities.
17. What kind of childrens?
Hila   (06.13.10)
These children were trained to kill and wearing bombs on themselves. On a mission to blow up a bus or mall.
18. #16
Yitzchak ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (06.13.10)
Two things. If a "child" (that means 16 and 17 year old who knows what he's doing) throws a rock with the intent to kill, then sitting in jail is a light punishment as far as I am concerned. Two. How many Abirigene children are sitting today in Australian prisons or as you like to call them "guarded" "special" children's homes?
19. Why the Red Cross and not Shalit's mother ?!
Salma ,   Palestine   (06.13.10)
The problem is you don't want the Red Cross visit to Shalit in order to check on him, but in order to know where he is?! you know trust is non-existent between the parties, Hamas does not accept to put this on its agenda, and this concept, since you don't respect any promise or covenant. You have no choice but to release of Palestinian freedom fighters, They are for us PDF
20. Would somebody please tell the Turks
Shalom ,   Ashdod, Israel   (06.13.10)
What would the stupid PM of Turkey now say? His silence is deafening!!!
21. Egypt was beyrayed by BHO & EU. Egyptian farmers R poor & Ga
smartG   (06.13.10)
Egyptian farmers are poor, sometimes they dont even have extra money for an extra pita, while all this money of billions and trillions goes to Gaza which grew from 100000 refugees into million and a half. The Devil is an advocate.
22. #16 - Palestinian prisoners - get visits and more
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & New York   (06.13.10)
You seem to be only considering the small part of the Palestinian prisoners that come from Gaza. But Palestinian prisoners get visits from their lawyers, some get conjugal visits from their wives, they study for university degrees (at the expense of the Israeli government), etc. Gilad Shalit only got a one way video and 1 letter out, no visit by the Red Cross as required by international law, no visit from his lawyer (he was not convicted of anything), etc. Palestinian prisoners are convicted criminals Gilad Shalit is a kidnap victim. So no, there is no comparison to Israel living up to international law and Hamas failing to.
23. To all freedom fighters!!! send flotilla to Egypt!
tanya ,   tel aviv israel   (06.13.10)
24. Re #16-ever wonder why 6700 are detained
Galut ,   selah   (06.13.10)
Quote:Between September 2000 and August 2008, an estimated 6,700 Palestinian children were arrested and de-tained in Israeli prison facilities. ============= could it be the society they are bred in trains them for jahad? mickey mouse palistinian ------------------ when a society train it children to hate Jews and strive for jahad and marytrdom then turns them loose on the street of you might think they may try to fulfil what they were taught at school and home ????
25. Salma again says Palestinians are above the law
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (06.13.10)
Here she goes again, saying that Palestinians do not have to obey international laws. Salma - Palestinians either obey the law or face prosecution for violation of international laws. The law says the Red Cross must be allowed access to Shalit. Palestinians are breaking the law. Palestinian policies of attacking and killing Israeli civilians is against the law - in fact, Goldstone said it's a war crime. So, Salma, why do Palestinians get to be war criminals? Why do you think you can fire rockets at our houses and blow up our restaurants and buses? There is no "legitimate right to resist the occupation" that includes rockets and bombs - those are war crimes. It is time to put your leaders on trial for these war crimes. The sooner you admit it and tell Hamas to sit down and negotiate peace, the sooner we will have peace. Otherwise, you Palestinians keep giving all the signals that you want war, and that you can commit war crimes and not be held accountable. The day will come...
26. If Netanyahu had b****
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (06.13.10)
If Netanyahu had b****, there would be no more transfer of anything between Gaza and Israel. Everything must pass through Egypt.
27. Salma
Yossef ,   Rehovot, Israel   (06.13.10)
You are too harsh. There is a path between absolute love and absolute hatred. Believe me.
28. activists;White House uphemism for Killer
joe   (06.13.10)
And why should Ynet follow suit and not calling the gang of the 9 turkish thugs, criminals, for what they are (thankfully for what they were) -- Why have a blockade , since the vile " head honcho " Haniyeh and his gang of cut-throats are only ' activists '; or why insult this " mistake " of the gods called Ahmadino, since he is only an ' activist ';and why did the Mossad ' cleaned ' mother earth from this cancer called mabhouh, since he was only an activist and behaved accordingly --- kill Jews?. Today, according to up-to-date civilized norms, he is a Saint. The Pope probably will canonise him as such. But he will lose his 72 whores -- no monkey business in Haven.
29. Palestinian children, 14 years of age are tried as adults
lara ,   Australia   (06.13.10)
Palestinian children, 14 years of age are tried as adults in Israeli Military court and are often put with Adults in prison. These are direct violations of international law. Hundreds of Palestinian prisoners in Israel are in prison without charges or a trial. Israeli prison without fair trial or conviction, psychologically destroys these children. Palestinians don't breed terrorists, your justice system which lacks justice does.
30. #29 lara the typical anti-semite
Yitzchak ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (06.13.10)
I asked you a direct question in #18. In typical full of hatred anti-semetic fashion, you choose to ignore the question. HOW MUCH DO YOU GET PAID TO SPEW YOUR HATE ON THIS WEBSITE. IS IT A GOOD SALARY?
