An artist may not want to be involved in a political dispute but when faced with an economic boycott by an enlightened, knowledgable clientel he will pick money over Israel everytime. Clearly the BDS movement is winning the day. It has has been able to define performing in Israel as a political statement. Be thankful for Jewish Klemer bands and has-beens like Madonna or Elton John. They will come. I doubt very seriously if groups like U2 or an Arcade Fire calibre band would ever play in Israel. I know that John Lennon, if he he were alive, wouldn't.
