I don't think Israel is afraid of Jordan becoming economically independent at all. The issue deals with a nuclear power plant and it's locations. I also don't understand the King's statement that if the private sector was involved there would be nothing sinister going on? As long as people are involved whether it is the private or public sector -- people look out for their own economic and other interests. Things sinister do go on in the private sector as well.

The king has a point when he says that israel should mind its own business. Jordanian government is not hostile towards israel,so why all the fuss?? Me thinks you just want anything nuclear related to only be part of israel and no other nation in the mid east. This policy was doomed to fail from day 1. Whats wrong with Israel not wanting Jordan to get nuclear power and trying to make it difficult for them? Is Abdullah telling us that at this time especially when diplomatic relations are so bad that Jordan doesn't or wouldn't intefere with Israels business. The arabs think its their right to dictate to Israel or make life hard for it but it doesn't work both ways and Israelis should bow down to Abdullah because he is royalty the way his subjects do or Obama would. The only thing he is right about here is when he says that Jordans nuclear reactor technology is ahead of Israels. Because Israel has nukes & hasn't signed the NPT its having a much harder time finding somebody willing to sell a nuclear reactor so all we got is the old thing at Dimona which has been upgraded over the years.

my point here is that Israel doesn't live from foreign investments. It has it's own technology and production , and you can't deny that, it's true that the US helps Israel, but it also helps all of it's allies! Israel is a leader in startups companies and nanotechnologies and many other types of technologies. The arab countries don't produce anything, name one arab country that produce one thing ? you can't right!
