1. American descent??
Dina ,   Israel   (06.16.10)
As far as I know, her parents are from Iran and not America!!
2. Shouldn't happen between states with diplomatic relations
Ilan ,   Ariel   (06.16.10)
There is an absurdity in an Egyptian professional guild taking actions against a member for such a thing as associating with a citizen of a peaceful state? They would never think of doing this to an Egyptian meeting with Iranians or Saudi citizens so why with Israel. If we were in a state of war or if Israel were declared an enemy state then it would make sense. Is that the message they want to send us? Where is the Egyptian government in all this?
3. guess he isn't following the script
hanina   (06.16.10)
since when did egyptians do improve?
4. this is peace?
nadav ,   tlv   (06.16.10)
If this is the kind of "peace" that awaits Israel and the Arab/Muslim world, then who the hell needs it! Keep the status quo, at least we can keep our dignity. Clearly the Arab/Muslim countries are steeped in anti-semitism and have no intention of even cultural ties with israel
5. affair .. egyptian injection involved ..
egyptian   (06.16.10)
6. This in return for Sinai?
Menachem ,   Israel   (06.16.10)
The "peace"-agreement between Israel and Egypt only means that Egypt refrains for the time being of attacking Israel militarily while uncle Sam keeps Cairo afloat.
7. Peace between Egypt and Israel
Paulo   (06.16.10)
I thought there was peace between the 2 countries. What kind of peace is that? It probably stems also from jealousy
8. A "cold peace" with Egypt.
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (06.16.10)
9. Nice Peace Plan Israei Left. Tip of the iceberg here. Take
Barry ,   Omaha US   (06.16.10)
back Sinai, fools.
10. Gaza blockade
Yakov ,   TA   (06.16.10)
What does this article have to do with the Gaza blockade? The behavior of the Egyptians, clearly defines that they are not at peace with Israel. They are in a state of non-war, but to be sure, not at peace. Their hatred for Jews, contempt for Israel and this deeply ingrained culture of anger is EXACTLY why the blockade must continue. The sad truth, that they hate Jews so vehemently, that this article even exists, is a priori evidence for the need of the blockade. Once lifted, all of these hate mongers will flood Gaza with tools of their hatred.
11. It seems that Egypt
Linichka ,   Gdynia, Poland   (06.16.10)
is trying to outdo Turkey as the most hypocritical nation . How stupid, this attitude, after decades of "peace" between the countries.
12. Those retards will never ever get it...
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (06.16.10)
13. what is it with arabs that makes them so paranoid
ghostq   (06.16.10)
they think she is a spy outside the ME :P
14. Dumb, intolerant, backward. 80,000 Egyptian Jewish refugees
EgtptianJewishRefuge ,   Geneva, Switzerland   (06.16.10)
It just shows the stupoidity, intolerance, fanatacism. This mentality resulted in 80,000 Egyptian Jews becoming refugees.
15. don't we ahve peace with egypt????
(06.16.10)
16. peace????
andre lajst ,   tel aviv   (06.16.10)
17. The more things change...
NYC Girl   (06.16.10)
The Egyptian government pulled the same crap decades ago when they threatened to strip Omar Sharif of his citizenship for appearing opposite Barbra Streisand in "Funny Girl." Apparently, even the vaunted peace treaty between Israel and Egypt hasn't resulted in the Egyptians becoming any less nativistic.
18. So Nabawy is being investigated for not being a racist
Truth Hertz ,   UK   (06.16.10)
Perhaps he should leave Egypt altogether and go and live in a civilised country.
19. It is annoying
SAM ,   ME   (06.16.10)
how Israelis behave. They act as if the creation of Israel did not cause suffering to the palestinains as if they if it is the palestinans fault to be in there. If you are an israeli living in a Palestinain's house - a house that used to be owned by palestinains before 48 don't you feel guilty in any way at least for a second? did ever occur to you that this house this garden were lived in by some other people who are some where else now living as a refugee?????? doesn't this bother at all?
20. Freedom of speech
Serge ,   Antwerp, Belgium   (06.16.10)
Same happened to an Egyptian journalist who met the Israeli ambassador. What kind of society is this where unions decide who their members can meet ? When will there be peace between Israel and Egypt ?
21. Is there any question which culture is repressive?
Mark ,   New York USA   (06.17.10)
The Israeli Film Guild welcomes co-operation between it's members and its Arab cousins while the Egyptian Guild launches an inquisition because one of its members acted human. What more proof does Israel's left need that peace with Egypt is simply a peace of paper that eventually will be ripped up by the Muslim Brotherhood.
22. Egyptian actor
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (06.17.10)
For his offense, Nabawi should receive at least a suspension from the Actor's Guild, so he can thank about what he did and resolve not to repeat it. That would be a mild penalty; Nabawi could arguably be accused of and convicted of sedition, with appropriate punishment applied.
23. Congratulations to the actors & crew on being selected
Zvi   (06.17.10)
Best of luck to the film and its actors. As for the vicious idiots who would inject anti-Semitic blacklisting (which is what this is) and their local authoritarian system of repression into international motion pictures, they can go to ....
24. #19 Yes, it is annoying
Logic ,   Israel   (06.17.10)
Sam, There is a difference between feeling sorry for people and the placing of responsibility. Sure, I feel sorry for innocent Arabs who picked up and left the area due to the mayhem of the 1948 war. No one wants to be in a war and have to flee. On the other hand Sam, the responsibility for the vast majority of uprootings belongs on the invading Arab countries. Who called for a jihad against the Jews and to push them into the sea? It was the speaker of the Arab League. Doesn't this bother you at all? Doesn't it bother you that 1% of the Israeli population was destroyed because the Arabs refused a peaceful partition that they were offered in 1939 and 1947 and many times afterwards?
25. to #19 not really since before the first intifada
ghostq   (06.17.10)
arabs were notlimited they had all the opertunities to be part of a system that enable them to get more than freedome, but since they turn to violance and to intifada than they created their own fate, the only guilty r Palis, abu mazen admited that it was mistake, BUT palis did it twice and that after they refused the partion plane in 1947. so this situation is their bad choise in history and they should be responsible for their own fate.
26. #19. Annoying that Arabs kicked out 800,000 Jews
IraqiJew ,   London, UK   (06.18.10)
#19. Don't play "innocent." You Arabs kicked out 800,000 Jews from Arab countries, robbed us and stole our homes. Hypocrites.
27. Yes for Jews, No for Zionists
Arabi ,   Cairo   (12.09.10)
We welcome dealing and cooperating with jews but not zionists. # 19 is 100% right. if I took your house by force, would you accept my invitation for dinner in this house!!!!!! if any one sees that it is ok, so you are the fools, not arabs N.B there still jews living in Egypt and still jewish temples here as well. come and see
