1. What's all this nonsense???
Michael Steiner ,   Bahrain   (06.16.10)
These halfassed measures are a joke and the Tehran monkey has every reason to scoff at them. The U.S. is the world's biggest economy by a huge margin and what it has to do is very simple: Disengage from any and all direct and indirect Iranian business, and then disengage from all foreign entities doing direct or indirect business with Iran. No company in the world (with the exception of Venezuelan, Cubans and the like outfits) is going to continue commercial activities with Iran if it means losing their business with the U.S. This type of measure, "security council"-approved or not, would cripple Iran overnight. Everything else is idle posturing.

What you are suggesting is exactly how the United States got China and Russia to go along with sanctions. It is an extremely powerful and extremely viable threat, but it has rarity value. At this point in time, it behooves the Saudis to really drop the price of light crude. That would be several more nails in Iran's coffin -- they'll lose what little market they have left. And the Saudis can afford it. But Iran is dead. The mullahs just don't realize it yet.
3. While China buys Iran's oil, only middle men get hurt
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (06.17.10)
The question is who get hurt the most by these sanctions which is likely the middle class, importers and bankers. While sanctions can work over time but do we have the time before Iran has nukes? Bombing is also a poor option since it would only delay and cause more problems but it is the quickest.
4. Iran should not be nuclear.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (06.17.10)
In sharp contrast to Israel’s alleged program, it is clear that Iran’s nuclear project is aggressive rather than defensive. Consequently, it is universally recognized that if Iran becomes a nuclear power, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and other states will begin developing their own nuclear arsenals in short order. That is, it is absolutely clear that if the NPT is to have any relevance in the coming years, if there is to be any hope that counter-proliferation regimes can be useful, preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons must be its signatories’ chief aim. With so much wisdom coming out of you two genius "strategists", I'm surprised Obama hasn't begged you two to come up with a solution to the BP oil disaster! Sarah, I'm telling you girl for your own sake, it "behooves" you very much to stop fantasizing about the Saudis, if you what I mean.
6. fooled AGAIN.

If the US wanted to stop Iran, they could do it. PERIOD. The US Naval forces are greater than the entire rest of the world combined by a factor of at least 3x. The US has by far the most advanced, most modern, and most disciplined and capable military in history. And *most* importantly, they have 100x the money of any other military. If they -wanted- to, they could go in there and erase Ahmadinejad and the entire regime -EXACTLY- as quickly and easily as Saddam. And there is NO ONE who is going to do anything about it. 1 + 1 = ? The only reasonable conclusion is the US has no interest in stopping them. The sanctions have zero effect, and they have pre-loaded the failure dialog by pointing out "we can't do it alone." So it is a planned failure, with the propaganda already front-loaded. US has been selling weapons and technology to every Arab and Islamic nation since Obama took office. They sent Cisco Systems, Dell, Microsoft and Symantec to Syria this week. Meanwhile, Israel has been denied every single time, while the entire international community ignores terrorism across the globe and puts Israel under the microscope. FIGURE IT OUT. Take a big fat guess what is coming.

What does economic leverage have to do with capping a well? Not much, really. Hell, kitty kat. The Saudis offered Israel an air corridor and refueling privileges. Believe it or not, they really hate Iran. Really they do. Trust me -- they'll drop the price if it would mean an end to thirty years of Iranian attempts to destabilize the Kingdom. In a heartbeat. Meow.
8. WITH OVER 17 VISITS.......................#7
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (06.22.10)
To the Saudi Kingdom, your delegates could not extract anything out of these Kings and Prince,do you expect them to provide a corridor for the IAF? You are indeed a joke.I highly reccomend you paying a visit to Saudi to see it for yourself, what I mean.Rotten guess indeed,Sarah.
