I would sit and eat with Sephardi Jews. One young man asked me why I would eat with them instead of the Ashkenazim? What is this? We are not all Jews? There is indeed "ethnic" separation in Israel between Jews. Why?

It has nothing to do with Sephardi Ashkenazi differences, there are a quarter of Sephardi in the midsts of the parents who oppose. It has everything to do with the RELIGIOUS STANDARD of this school which is lower than what they perceive their children should receive. Who can expect from Hight Court or the secular media to understand? Then they make out of it a rift between Sephardi/Ashkenazi, this they understand. (No censoring this time, eh?)

We all work in Israel. What kind of nonsense is this ? People get money without working!! We sane people of Israel are demanding this : 1)Stop giving money to Haridim. 2) No family financing after the third child. 3) Haridim must study what we study in schools without excuses. 4)Haridim must serve the country. In Israel there are laws, laws MUST be applicable to every citiizen without excluding anyone. You don't like it, go live in elsewhere.

The most certainly do have a choice - live by the law of Torah from Sinai, or go out and riot and do hilul Hashem. My kids here in the hills of Judea go to a religious school where ashkenaz and sephard sit and learn side by side and are taught by both ashkenaz and sephard teachers. We don't care where their parents are from, just that they are good and qualified teachers for our kids and teach Torat Moshe to the Jews. All the Jews. It does not look good. Maybe I am missing something. Maybe I am all wrong (wrong-headed) about this. Perhaps you can prove me wrong. I do not too often quote from our Bible. The Jewish prophet wrote about it. Many Jews have been guilty of it down through the centuries. I know I have been guilty of it. The issue here has nothing to do with ethnicity, culture or even religion. It is ideological. Should the law of the land be Jewish, i.e. based on Torah Law or should it be based on some other system or set of principles, i.e. not-Torah? The courts of the State of Israel, by and large, have ignored traditional Jewish Law and have opted for modern, Western, Christian-based, secular legal precedents and attitudes. When Jewish Law and secular law converge, as they will on occasion, no one complains. But when the secular court system attempts to bully Jewish Law, those who are true to the validity and authenticity of the latter push back. If the High Court was smart, it would accept upon itself the secular war--cry of separating religion from state and back off. Sadly, it isn't all that smart.
