32. Are the Republican Gaurds..
Paul ,   USA   (06.18.10)
going to escort the ships ? Probably not. The Iranian Hitler shoots off his mouth a lot, but he won't send military escorts - he knows what will happen !
33. Iranian ship can dock in Port Said.

Scott, you must be Sarah's imaginary Friend or 2nd personality which is just as stupid and angry (why all the anger...sooo not cool) Most people agree that the last time these ships were boarded (the way they were) it didn't make Israel look good, it didn't make the IDF look good and generated a torrent of bad press...etc again bad for israel Anyone, who has a bit of intelligence will tell you that there are a million and one way to deal with these "activists" without loosing nearly as many feathers: Let them deliver their goods and deprive them of the publicity they crave and turn a PR disaster to thumbs up. If it is really laden with weapons, which I doubt them to be that stupid. Then arrest them in front of the eyes of the global press and try and jail the. Otherwise, a smoother operation can make their engine stop mid-way and help them, again under the gaze of global media. and there must be even better ways than the "lets blow them" approach as that sounds too much like the "behead the infidels" again, makes Israel and its people look no better than taliban. Sarah, Lucky you don't get to decide about much, otherwise this country will be as popular among the nations as Burma or Iran. Shalom
35. Should we trust Egypt ?
Ron B. ,   Lod   (06.18.10)
Iranian Grad-type Katyusha rockets entered Gaza via Sudan, Egyptian Red Sea ports and over the Sinai desert before being smuggled through tunnels, the Associated Press reports. Its reporter saw an 18-inch fragment of a rocket, and many rockets and weapons bear signs of Iranian paint, lettering and serial numbers. And what are the relations between Egypt and Iran ? Dear Barak, you seem not to see the danger, All these people whant you erased, not because of polatics, even though they use this as an excuse it is becuase they beleive they should do that based on their blind belief in their religion, they beleive they should kill Jews and subdue christians, Wake up man.

39. #3 - Under San Remo, Israel CAN enter Egyptian waters
William ,   Israel   (06.18.10)
The San Remo convention allows for the interception of any ship with the intent of delivering contraband or running a war-time blockade the minute they leave port. Keep in mind - Israel also controls the air borders around Gaza. A few shots across the bow to hit the helicopter before she takes off would be legal and I would laugh my ass off.
40. #14 - Iran doesn't recognize us, so who cares?
William ,   Israel   (06.18.10)
The can just call us "the tough army from the group of people who's State we do not recognize has our nationals in their prisons on occupied Palestinian land in jails which are probably Palestinian in a place we don't really recognize". I'm ok with that.
41. #3 - sailing along Egyptian coast
William ,   Israel   (06.18.10)
It will now be much easier to block them as the corridor for the Iranians to sail is much narrower. Place the navy out their and see if the Iranians ram the boat to get through. Then it's go-time....and the Iranians can don their life vests as the next stop is the sea floor.
42. Egypt and Israel are not friends
Grant Thomas ,   USA   (06.18.10)
Don't expect Egypt to do anything that would actually help Israel. They are Muslims and they are the enemies of Israel in the final analysis. Once it looks like Israel could be defeated in a war, the Egyptians and Jordanians will pile on with the rest of the satanic hordes!
43. Just kill the propeller and be done with it
William ,   Israel   (06.18.10)
They can sit for the rest of their lives in Egyptian waters...who cares? Just don't give one IDF soldier for this operation. Clean and simple.
44. #34 - are you brainwashed by the BBC, Barak?
William ,   Israel   (06.18.10)
"the last time these ships were boarded (the way they were) it didn't make Israel look good, it didn't make the IDF look good and generated a torrent of bad press." Since when has Israel done anything that brought good press?? If Israel send diplomats with flowers and cake, it still would have turned ugly and Israel still would have gotten bad press. Till this day, most media outlets have not retracted false stories they printed in the past about Israel and actively blocked bad press about Hamas and the violent Islamists. Hamas blocked the aid (still) from the last flotilla. NO ONE is running this story despite Hamas claiming there is a humanitarian crisis (which there isn't). Stop drinking the kool-aid, my friend.
45. # 34
Birdi ,   Israel   (06.18.10)
You miss the point entirely. "Let them deliver their goods...." There is a legal blockade on Gaza. Nothing goes into Gaza without Israel inspecting everything.
46. Matty Groves-how do you know

that Sarah B did not have a child killed in the 2002 bombing of the Jerusalem pizza parlor? Are you omniscient?
47. Israel sitting back on.....
Sir Colin   (06.18.10)
its' laurels. Sometimes I wonder if it is worth commenting at all. Israel will still do NOTHING to protect itself. Exactly what are they waiting for. Israel, if you can't show determination, then sit back and get taken! The minute the ship(s) were out of Irani waters they should have been blown to bits. it's good I'm not a PM. I'm far too aggressive.

50. To: No. 15
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.18.10)
No, that is not the tenor of my comments and for you to suggest otherwise is inapposite. Why is it war-mongering to suggest that Israel do what every other nation on the face of the earth would do in the course of imposing a fully legal blockade and embargo? Why is it war-mongering to acknowledge that terrorists are not very nice people (I use the term advisedly) and that if it is violence they want, then violence they shall get? Israel has fought and won six wars it never sought, and has had to combat existential threats and terrorism since modern statehood. I don't expect you to understand -- you do, after all, live in Londonistan. You are correct in one regard -- I see the Middle East in black and white: there is Israel; there are those who seek the destruction of Israel and the extermination of the Jewish people. There is nothing in between.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.18.10)
You've missed the whole point. Tehran has deliberately stirred up a tempest in a teapot in a futile attempt to distract the West from imposing increasingly tough sanctions on Iran. They've tried it through ratcheting up the level of violence from Hamas and rhetoric out of Hizbollah -- didn't work. They turned to their brand new Turkish friends and got them to organize a flotilla, which turned into a major embarrassment for Turkey when all those ties to reviled terrorist organizations were discovered. So now they have undertaken to do the job themselves. Israel has not hesitated in the past to sink Iranian vessels carrying arms to Hamas and Hizbollah. Israel has not hesitated in the past to destroy convoys attempting to supply Iranian weapons to Hamas (remember the Sudan?). So why on earth do you think that it would be a good idea for Israel to develop a severe case of shyness when it comes to Iran's clear intent to run a blockade that is fully legal and necessary to ensure the safety and security of Israel's citizens? It's not Burma, by the way. It's Myanmar. Speaking of which -- the United States, the U.K. and Australia have imposed a naval blockade upon Myanmar, which has had devastating humanitarian consequences -- real ones, unlike the artificial one in Gaza -- particularly in the wake of the devastating cyclone a number of years ago. Similarly, famine in North Korea has resulted in the deaths of millions of innocent civilians, yet the United States and South Korea continue to maintain a naval blockade and embargo of Pyongyang. What do you think would happen to a vessel that attempted to run either of the two foregoing blockades? And why should Israel behave any differently? I remind you that Myanmar has not engaged in any hostilities against the United States, the United Kingdom or Australia. The same CANNOT be said for Hamas with respect to Israel. And the rhetoric out of Tehran to the effect of "wiping the Zionist entity from the map" and "destroying the heart of Tel Aviv" has been a constant for thirty years. Israel takes existential threats very seriously. Organizing a convoy with the intent of running a fully legal blockade is a casus belli. Israel must respond appropriately and, in this case, the appropriate response is to stop the blockade runners. If it can be done without the use of force, that would be preferable. But if force is necessary, then that is what must be.
53. Obama fails again
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (06.18.10)
Obama supported the Turkish Jihad flotilla because of his hatred for Israel. As predicted, it was a front to outmaneuver this amateur. No more convoys of trucks in Sudan and through Syria. No more tunnels. Now Iran will supply Hamas, Hezbolla and the Brotherhood by ship and no one will be able to stop them. And as much as Obama hates Israel, he knows that when the Brotherhood hangs Mubarak, America loses, and the last thing he needs is Iranian anti-ship missiles and fast attack boats in the Eastern Mediterranean. The racist Obama will be checkmated by Ahmadinejad, the man he calls a monkey.

55. :: Stephen - #46 In answer to your Question
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (06.18.10)
. 1) I have very good resources when it comes to children killed in the ME conflict since 2000. This is part of a much larger project I work on. In short I have a lot of info at my finger tips regarding the death of any child (Palestinian/Israeli/other) that has died as a result of the Palestinian/Israeli conflict (since 2000 that is). 2) There is simply *no* record of a 13 yr old male child (Israeli or American) dying in 2001 as a result of the Sbarro Pizzeria bombing. There was of course the case of Yair Amar, a 13 yr old male from Emmanuel, who died in Dec 2001 but this brutal murder was a result of a shooting while on a bus not a suicide bombing. 3) Simply put Sarah BS's claim that "my 13 year old son was murdered in a suicide bombing in Jerusalem in 2001" has no merit based on actual record facts. I am very happy to be proven wrong if anyone can show me a report of a 13 yr old American/Israel male child dying in or from the Sbarro Pizzeria bombing but this will never happen. Of course not! However I do a lot of research, it all boils down to ‘facts’, and the simple fact is that Sarah BS’s claim has no facts to back it up. Don’t believe me then check her claim out for yourself. I would also add that Sarah BS’s false claim is a shameful insult to the bereaved parents who actually lost their child or children to a terrorist attack.
56. Any babies in Gaza named Ahmadinejad?
Cynthia ,   USA   (06.18.10)
The Islamic Regime cannot stomach the attention Turkey received over the Turkish jihadi flotilla. So they must send their own ship of Revolutionary Guard jihadis and politicians to stake a claim to Gaza. If Iranian ships actually arrive, the Israeli Navy should surround them for however long it takes to end the stand-off. Offer those on board asylum in the West and don't be surprised to see the Revolutionary Guards lining up to jump ship.
57. 1956 Suez Crisis - know your history, anyone?
Smith ,   VT, USA   (06.18.10)
If you know your history, you might recall that the 1956 Suez Crisis, when Egypt refused to let Israeli ships through, is what kicked off the war between Egypt and Israel / France / Britain. Those international agreements that Egypt cites to allow through any ship from any country unless Egypt is actively at war with them stem from exactly that event. Unless Israel would like to argue that Egypt should be free to block Israeli ships again, I'd suggest not arguing against this one. You should be arguing about Iran sending the ships in the first place, not about Egypt refusing to let them pass.

Actually, it was 2001. Don't worry. I am not in the least bit concerned with the vile commentary of a short, obese and unhappy lesbian who hides behind a folk song. That's why I don't bother reading her posts any more.

Cynthia ,   USA   (06.18.10)
"I have very good resources when it comes to children killed in the ME conflict since 2000. This is part of a much larger project I work on". Very good resources like palestineremembered with special fabricated Zionist quotes? Please provide examples of your "good resources" and this special project you work on because all I've ever seen you do is cut and paste propaganda from questionable resources you're too embarrassed to identify. Make my day! Your lame personal attacks on Sarah highlight how threatened you are by her intelligence and your own inability to challenge her with facts. When did Sarah say her son was murdered in the Sbarro Pizzeria bombing? Where does it say Sarah is obligated to share her personal information and family identity with an idiot like you? Work on your own credibility. Good luck with that, Matty.
