1. Once again the state gives in to Charede threats
Avi ,   Israel   (06.20.10)
Once again the state gives in to Charedi threats of violence. These people are in clear breach of the law and they know it. The school in question is funded by the state and therefore when they accept this funding they accept the rules. There is a law in this country, it is not for its citizens to pick and choose which laws suits them and as usaul from the charideem this is accompanied by threats of violence which unfortuently is the only language they understand. Jail the mothers and put the children in to care, they will soon learn
2. What A waste of Tax money
(06.20.10)
Lets be honest and not deny, that what took place in Emmanual with the fathers mothers boys and girls babies, etc. is exactly what happened to the Jews in Germany, nothing short of that. Why should it continue this way? Best solution is that the Haredim should have their own cities to live in, so they may continue serving G-D as its meant to be by the Holy Torah, that the Haredim received on mount Sinai close to 3000 years ago. Same time the State of Israel will be glad not to be busy with the Haredim because the state is not looking to be governed by the Torah laws that was given to the Jewish nation by G-D. Bottom line it's a good solution for every body who lives in Eretz Yisrael.
3. How is it that intelligent people
Anon   (06.20.10)
How is it that intelligent people would foolishly allow some Mafia people to run the state just because they are more powerful than you? Isn’t it time to get rid of these self-elected judges who have been electing their own cronies since the creation of the state? Apparently it seems that most Israelis are fed up with these self-elected officials putting their dirty nose into everything and ruining the country. Isn’t it time to overthrow the Court and reestablish a Democratically elected Supreme Court?
4. hypocrite elitist ashkenazic racist court
Aryeh ,   Bat Ayin   (06.20.10)
In the days of Yossel Schumacher, the court ruled and declared that teh education of children is the sole responsibility of the parents and here they take a nanny state approach and rule that they are responsible for the child's education not the parents BTW let it be known that the Bagatz are the true racists, they have only had 3 sefardic members in the entire history of the State as opposed to the rest being elitist ashkenazic Judges. Where is their equality? Why are they not integrated? Are Sfardic Judges less qualified?
5. #1 Avi
Benny ,   Gush Etzion   (06.20.10)
That is incitement, you may get arrested for that as it is a crime and then maybe your kids will be put in Child care, would you be quick to accuse then
6. To # 2........Their own cities.
Philip ,   Afula , Israel   (06.20.10)
Somebody would need to work to maintain these cities. Would this be done by the haredim ?
7. Since when are women above the law?
Tova M. ,   Rehovot, Israel   (06.20.10)
Why let the mothers off the hook? Guess those women are praying, "Thank you, God, for creating me a woman so I don't have to obey the law." Maybe the rest of us should be praying, "Please let me be Haredi so I can do whatever I want whenever I want." If the courts cannot / will not enforce this legal decision, then what's the point of enforcing any law? Each judge who can't stand on the side of the law needs to RESIGN TODAY and make room for someone who can stand on the side of the rule of law.
8. 3 of the jailed fathers are Sephardim
Tamar ,   Israel   (06.20.10)
If this is about racism, why are some of the jailed father's Sephardi? And since 30% of the school is already Sephardi, when only maybe 10% of the Supreme Court is, then shouldn't the Supreme Court judges also be jailed for discrimination?
9. to #5 for once Avi is right
ghostq   (06.20.10)
you see Benny the funding for the school comes from state funding. as long as the school get funding from the state the people who send their children must obay the laws of the state, if they wanted racist school they should do that on their own expence and not on seculars money expence that sees the racism, I think Avi is a tad extreme, cause the more logical step isn't arrast but closing the funding to school, if the mothers will be arrested and the phenomena will continu it as if nothing happened, I say just close the money, if they haredim can't efford their own education from their own pockets they should find a job, like any normal person on this planet.
10. How could ynet LIE so blatantly?????
brl ,   Israel   (06.20.10)
they did NOT refuse to send their girls to a school that wouldnt seperate between ashkenazim and sephardim!!!! It was purely a religious standard issue - NOT a racial and cultural one - and even the Sephardim say so!!!! for once and for all get it right y.net and stop trying to fan such hatred! we have enough hatred from the rest of the world, we dont need to blow it into a fire over here between ourselves. 20 out of the 70 students in the private school were sephardim because they held to the same religious standard as the ashkenazim. Ynet - you are officially unreliable and biased.
11. Israel releaset terrorists who beat up our commando's
brl ,   Israel   (06.20.10)

13. Reply # 5 Benny
Avi ,   Israel   (06.20.10)
If its a crime that my daughter serves in the army, worked her way through med school , pays taxes , contributes to society , volunteers to help others and saves live, then come and arrest us! Incitement , ill give you incitment buddy !
14. #1 where were you
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (06.20.10)
Your Teutonic love for the Rule of Law is so great that you demand that small and vulnerable children be torn from their parents by men with guns and clubs and that pregnant and nursing women be jailed with drug dealers, thieves and murderers because they want to educate their own children. Where was your voice when the extreme Left rioters spit on the Court in the Simon the Just ("Sheikh Jarrah") riots? These rioters assaulted police and innocent Jews who wanted to live in their homes, all the while calling for ethnic segregation.
15. #14 Israeli - reply
Avi ,   Israel   (06.20.10)
i think from the behavior of these parents that they are not fit parents. Will these kids be joining the job market and contributing to the country they live in ? They dont even get a basic education that will give them the necessary skills to get a job. If they want to educate their children as you suggest then let them fund it themselves, they take take take from the state yet give noting in return. If you take from the state then you have to obide by the rules of the state, FYI there is a system of law in this country, if they and you dont like it , i belive you know where the airport is ?
16. to #14 theives should sit next to theives
ghostq   (06.20.10)
I heard some stories about the haredim, and they deserve to be in jail, like tring to go on public transportation without paying, or running stoks in the stok market by the buriel company.
17. Parents arrested for refusing to desegregate school
Michal Perlmutter ,   Moshav Sde Nitzan   (06.20.10)
I would not bother to arrest anyone. What needs to be done is simply to cut government funding to schools that do not comply with the laws of the State of Israel.
18. #15 reply
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (06.20.10)
You are avoiding the answer. In Israel many people ignore law and are not jailed: Anat Kam, Yossi Beilin, Uri Blau Yiftach Spector, Ehud Olmert, Sharon and his sons, and the YSM police to name a few. I agree that all these criminals should be deported. The Emanuel parents did not violate any law and were not convicted of ant crime, rather the Court felt insulted so ordered them jailed. But the Court is insulted daily by the police and the Leftist anti-Jew rioters in Simon the Just who ignore court rulings, usually violently. In this case, the Court clearly made a mistake by ordering a crime against humanity (forcible separation of children from their parents) and crimes that make any normal human sick (jailing a woman immediately after childbirth, jailing nursing infants, taking parents from a special needs child). As for contribution and job market. There is a social problem in Israel with the Arab and Haredi sectors who receive transfer payments and contribute little. The only way to change it is by voting. You voted Rabin 1992 (who collaborated with Shas and the Arabs), you voted Barak 1999 (who made a coalition with Shas) and you voted Olmert 2006 (who encouraged anarchy in the Arab sector and gave Shas/Haredim unprecedented funds). You voted, now stop complaining.
