Eric.. ,   Israel...   (06.21.10)
of the two evils.Under our control , we can let the Palestinians build new homes, schools, shops etc..We solve the problem of the boats and rockets. There leaders can go into exile, they can go live in Iran, just like we did too that lunatic Arafat.Who said life is easy.

THE GAZA BLOCKADE WILL NOT COMPROMISE THE NATIONAL SCURITY OF ISRAEL BUT IT IS JUST AN HONEST CONCESION OF GOOD WILL AND DUTY TO SAVE GUARD THE CIVILIANS OF GAZA ! NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS ! NOW , PLEASE SEND MY BOY GILAT SHALIT HOME WITHOUT ANY INJURY TO HIS PARENTS !
4. The Gaza predicament can end now, by applying UN Security
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (06.21.10)
Council Resolution 242, as is. 242 calls upon Israel to vacate territories captured in the Six-Day War, 1967, to secure and recognized boundaries. Israel has fulfilled this part with regard to Gaza, 2005. 242 then assumes the country that had controlled the Strip until 1967 will assume responsibility for it. That was Egypt. Egypt is now called upon to shoulder Gaza, with Arab, international community and Israel's assistance and mutual agreement. Let, therefore, Gaza be incorporated into Egypt now for the benefit of all, first and foremost among them are the Arabs of Gaza.
5. but........
tiki ,   belgium   (06.21.10)
It's good, but.....! There is always the 'but.... it's never enough! Give them 'one finger and they want the whole hand, than the arm, etc., etc., Looking back, PM Shamir was the clever on, he gave them 'the finger and just said NO.
6. Conclusion: Quartet still bunch of yellow Hamas butt kissers
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (06.21.10)
Of course the control of Gaza by Hamas is "unsustainable, unacceptable, and not in the interests of any of those concerned." The only problem is that the Quartet are too cowardly to say it openly. Face it folks. The truth is that Hamas totally rejects any idea of peace with Israel. That's the bottom line. There is no escaping it. It is factual, it's documented, and numerous Hamas leaders and their masters in Tehran have said so publicly. Hamas will "never" make peace with Israel. Yet the Quartet ignores this reality, and pretends that everything can be swept under the carpet. It will eventually blow up (literally) in their faces. Hamas must be confronted now. It is the enemy of peace and the enemy of the Palestinian people. Hamas won a minority government. Call their bluff. The Quartet should demand Palestinian elections.
7. #1...guess what
meg ,   israel   (06.21.10)
there are many who would want that, no kidding. I know same gazans, who are still allowed into israel for business purposes and they and many many others would love to be part of Israel. They are scared to death of hamas, fed up not being able to speak out, and these people are intellegent people, and gaza would prosper. They also realize they are the pawn in the islamic game against israel and USA. When you have kids to worry about you keep quiet and just dream of better days.
8. Situation in Gaza
John ,   Herzliya, Israel   (06.21.10)
The situation in Gaza might be unbearable. But..France24, for example, is giving a reporter's view from Gaza. Everybody is following the well known script, Israel is guilty for everything. But during the interview with the author, she states: Hamas is not making situation any easier for Gazans. And it stays there. One would think that some independent journalist would pursue this line, by asking: How come? What is Hamas doing? But not the "independent and unbiased European" journalist. For them, everything is clear and they know, who is guilty. So why such programmes are aired anyway, if everyone knows everything? You want to kiss asses of your Muslim population? Are you scared of it? I guess you don't want more riots in your nice French cities, while riots in Israel are OK?
9. How about tony and that go for nothing
jason white ,   afula,israel   (06.21.10)
quartet leaving us alone. Let them solve their muslim problems in the e.u., russia and the U.S.
10.  Israeli "giveaways" & Blairs "Takeaways"
DT ,   TA Israel   (06.21.10)
The more you give, Mr Netanyahu the more you are expected to give and you will get nothing in return. That is exactly what you have got - nothing. Since when has the International community done one single thing for Shalit except useless utterances or for Israel for that matter?
11. BP oil VOLCANO UNBEARABLE !!!
avi   (06.21.10)
12. #1 & #8: right ! Gaza is a scapegoat for intl. evil
avi   (06.21.10)
like so many other poor people in our "enlightened" world under the reign of rogue corporations and zombie states. "we the people" are dead chained, are we ??
13. "unsustainable and unacceptable" - according to what measure
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (06.21.10)
In what way exactly is the situation "unsustainable and unacceptable"? By the UN's own admission, there's no humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Food, medical supplies, household goods and consumer staples are plentiful. The average Gaza resident lives better than the average Egyptian and far better than most in Africa. Gaza is lead by a genocidal, oppressive regime, but that's by their own doing. Why is it the world's intent that they be indulged their aggression cost-free? "unsustainable and unacceptable" are simply made up standards to allow the "good hearted" to justify their double-standards where Israel is concerned.
14. dear quartet, why not throw another few billions at gaza
joe   (06.21.10)
Not allowing the red cross to visit; to release Gilad Shalit, to stop weapon supply --- all empty words by an equally empty quartet. Statements made by Tony Blair (making big bucks in his "job") sound as hollow as he is. The world will be forever grateful to his country, the UK , for creating the Middle East mess in the first place. Of course pressuring Israel is his, and his cohorts, their favorite pastime and the line of least resistance.
15. When Hamas signs peace pact & not until!!!
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (06.21.10)
(Gilad a condition of peace pact.)
16. have it all wrong...
Leroy ,   oklahoma city, usa   (06.21.10)
"to alleviate pressure on the Palestinian territory's population..." Whet Blair meant to say was " to alleviate the territory of Palestinian population. World would be a better place."
17. Appeasement at work, once more.
tchibo ,   Ger   (06.21.10)
18. gaza situation unacceptable
moron ,   galut   (06.21.10)
hamas must be liquidated--as for schalit israel pays too muh for prisoners and arabs know this--if you dont pay they will release him eventually as happened with american hostages in lebanon..meanwhile stop releasing arab prisoners jailed for terror
19. Forked tongue.
Stephen Goy ,   Manchester UK   (06.21.10)
Bliar?........ dont believe a word. We know ALL about him here in the UK & most of it is unprintable. You have been warned!
20. Gaza - solution to world poverty
Amram ,   Toronto Canada   (06.21.10)
All the destitute people from the 3rd world should go to Gaza where free food and medicine are pouring in.. The world is obsessed with 'helping' Gaza and totally forgot the people who really are dying of hunger and lack of hygiene.
21. The sityation remains unsustainable
Albert ,   USA   (06.21.10)
The more Israel concedes, the more the quartet and UN demand. What a malevolent world!
