1. Too Far?
Shmuel ,   Maale Adumim   (06.22.10)
Despite the fairly good relations that Germany enjoys with Israel, any German government (even a 1000 years from now) should be the last one on earth to criticize Israel for going too far! They will never give us back our 6 million!
2. A known murderer was assinated, that is NO crime.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (06.22.10)
Look at the 1000's of people killed in Mexico in the drug war, the 1000's of people killed in Dafur, this is NOTHING.
3. To far? I want my grandma/grandpa back murdered by
Sam ,   USA   (06.22.10)
the Germans. I want the rest of our family back, all 46 of them.
4. Mossad stories sell newspapers
Cynthia ,   USA   (06.22.10)
I didn't realize Der Spiegel is an investigative arm of the German government. Seems Der Spiegel is publicly corrupting the investigation with hearsay, making it impossible for this man to be treated in a fair and objective manner.
5. typically Spiegel
Spieglein, Spieglein ,   ger   (06.22.10)
Those guys just love to stick their noses into many things, traditionally, and they managed to find lots of scandals concerning big business and politicians. The government, regarding the issue, they somehow felt compelled to give a little "hey, that was not so nice". I bet, Angie Merkel would have prefered to just stay silent and let the dust settle itself. (in stark contrast to the ministers, Niebel and Westerwelle, they won't shut their stupid mouths)
6. No loyalty to a place they live in?
Chris ,   USA   (06.22.10)
7. Anything that concerns Israel
(06.22.10)
anything that can be used to crucify Israel is being used. Hundred of thousands homeless in Kyrzygstan, 250 dead in Kyrzygstan, Tibettan genocide by the Chinese, Turkish genocide of the Armenians and now the Kurds, Darfur, and on an on...and all the Europeans can think of is cultivating every Israeli fart. How pathetic.
8. deterrence
andre lajst ,   Israel\ tel Aviv   (06.22.10)
for 2000 years we were killed an persecuted by almost all nations in the world. After that time, a nation decided to close their eyes in order to forget the biggest crime against humanity. the same nation now its trying to provide arguments to put down our rigth to defend our selfs. The world must understand now that jews will not be assassinate any more. The world must understand that today, we have a state, we have wepons, and we can fight, we will figth at any time, anywhere, always when we see that someone or some group have planes to kill jews or israelis. Our deterence works. germans should stay in very silence. Jews now can figth and can kill every terrorist on earth. arabs, islamists and leftist should make them selfs free of their feelings, and respect us. In the other hand, they can try to hurt us, and face death by mossad agents, in name of Israel, the jewish people and our existence. My respects to every single agent involved in this action.
9. What's exactly the crime?
Ehud ,   TA   (06.22.10)
If Michael Bodenheimer is indeed the som of Hans, he legally acquired German citizenship, and Brodsky helped him with that. Is that a crime? If he was not, then Michael lied (maybe also to Brodsky?). Im any case, nobody forged a passport.
10.  to # 6 Jonathan Pollard and so many ..
Sue   (06.22.10)
11. Too far??
Yakov ,   Tel Aviv   (06.22.10)
This is too far, of what? Too far, because it stopped a hideous murderer? Too far, because he was being protected by the Arabs, and Germany doesn't wish to "offend" them? What is too far? When politics and economics circumvent justice for a terrorist, is it too far when the victims put a stop to the KILLING! 2 issues reign clear; He was a terrorist, no one denies that. And, his death removes at least 1 of these monsters. Is this too far? Foist me an argument to support this.
12. 3Wait 'til the Palestinians children start demanding
lydia ,   Brisbane   (06.22.10)
the return of their parents and grandparents, victim of Israel illegal occupation and subjugation. 46 will pale by comparison.
13. Lydia wake up No 12
Eran ,   Singapore   (06.22.10)
You are pathetic. Six million Jews perished in concentration camps, NOT six million palestinian children. By the way, where were you when the Jewish holocust took place? We never heard your voice of protest. So stop your farts. They smell awful.
14. Spiegel is NOT Reliable.
Eran ,   Singapore   (06.22.10)
They are anti Jewish, anti Israel and only look for sensation and not substance like Darfur, Kurds and Ozbeks.
15. The Brodsky case
Jens ,   Germany   (06.22.10)
The whole case in Germany is not about the killing of a terrorist or Israel's right to defend itself, it's solely about 'obtaining a passport by fraud'. Nothing more. BTW, in Nazi Germany Jews were without any legal rights what lead into the holocaust. Today we have a democratic constitution and in article 3 is written: 'All humans are equal before the law'. This includes mossad agents.
16. #1, You spoke out of my own heart !!!
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (06.22.10)
17. Well Spoken #15
World Citizen ,   the world   (06.22.10)
If the man obtained a passport through fraud and it can be proven in a court of law then he should spend some time in gaol. And your statement about the German Constitution, particularly Article 3, is noteworthy "All humans are equal before the law" It states that all humans have equal rights before the law but it also implies that all humans have to face their responsibilities under the law. If Brodsky is guilty he should go to gaol. I'd also like to ask what kind of bill or rights does Israel give its citizens? I was under the impression that Israel had no constitution. What kind or rights do the Sephardim, Mizrahim, Druze, Israeli Arab Christians and Muslims have? If they have any rights why are they treated like second class citizens? And finally, I and many others are sick and tired of Israelis trying to excuse the bad things they and their government do by bringing up the shoah. What an insult to the memory of those who died and survived. They deserve better.
18. #15, Your statement is ABSOLUTELY
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (06.22.10)
hypocritical, it mirrors exactly the position taken by the Spiegel, the German government and the rest of Germanys cheap hypocrites... Anybody who interferes with operations to safeguard Israels security, works into the hands of the terrorists. You should know this...!!!
19. Dear Chris,
Jens ,   Germany   (06.22.10)
you write your talkbacks on ynet with your good heart, but not with your brains. Best wishes
20. To #14, Eran, You are exactly right...
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (06.22.10)
The "Spiegel" is Israels enemy and an appeaser to Iran and the terrorists...it never ever was something else...
21. #15 Dear german Jens
Orwell ,   Farmville   (06.22.10)
The whole world knows this situation has nothing to do with the rule of law. It has everything to do with the world trying to impose its will on Israel. Israel will not lay down and surrender to Islam so they must be punished. I will not join such a mob against such a courageous nation.
22. #6 - go ask that question of residents in Dearborn, MI
William ,   Israel   (06.22.10)
or NYC or or Minneapolis or Oakland/San Francisco. Without specifically mentioning the ethnic background of whom I'm alluding to, I can bet you that you will find a very low number that place the US as their #1 priority and hold no real loyalty to it.
23. #10 - Pollard did not endanger the US nor its citizens
William ,   Israel   (06.22.10)
Not as grave a crime as Russia or China stealing secrets, for which those spies spent almost no time in prison.
24. #12 - considering it was caused by Arab leaders
William ,   Israel   (06.22.10)
during a time of war, Israel is basically absolved of it. Can't really compared most of those "refugees" who ran without ever seeing an IDF soldier to the systematic campaign of genocide that took the lives of millions. Hell, Jews killed by Nazis in Germany can prove ownership of much assets and homes, yet the "Palestinians" can only show a rusty key and a well-crafted story. Which one do you think will hold up in court?
25. #17 - the same law exists in Israel
William ,   Israel   (06.22.10)
but Arabs demand more rights and to be absolved on responsibilities under that law, which applies to every citizen. Arabs essentially demand an Apartheid State in which Jews pay the bill and Arabs get the benefits. I find it funny you're mentioning "mizrahim" and "Sephardim" which shows more your plagiarism in lifting "key words" from other posts without any context or knowledge of the distinction. For claiming to be a "world citizen" you're pretty ignorant.
26. #17 - Arab bring up the Shoah much more than Israel
William ,   Israel   (06.22.10)
They do so in their narratives that "Israel was born from the Shoah" and "Palestinians were not responsible for the Holocaust". Infact, people like you and other pro-Arabs cite the Holocaust 10x more than Israel. In this article, TBers mention it specifically because it relates to Germany. No other reason.
27. 13 What the *** does Europe's holocaust have to do with
lydia ,   Brisbane   (06.23.10)
Palestinians. Europe's disenchantment with your bunch have nothing to do with the Palestinians. It Germany from who you are still demanding reparations.
28. 24 the Key or no key the land is still theirs say the UN
lydia ,   Brisbane   (06.23.10)
Nothing outside Israel unilaterally declared jewish border belongs to Israel. The fact that the US veto prevents sanctions does in no way legitimize Israels illegal occupation nor sanitize its atrocities. Your detailed theft, crimes against humanity and numerous other violations are already duly noted in the ICC, the UN, the Geneva Convention etc and the Halls of power. So key or no key the Palestinians will collect.
