1. Lesson in Economics.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (06.25.10)
You get a failing grade, didn't anyone here ever take a course in economics? It's because of the exchange rate, the shekel is now much stronger, the US dollar much weaker. Go back to school.
2. let's go back to the Kings era !!!

how wonderful is democracy ... At least, Marie Antoinette had the guts to say to people , you don't have bread ? eat cakes.
3. 2 Avi: In defense of a foolish Queen of France, Marie
Rivkah   (06.25.10)
Antoinette did not say, "Let them eat cake!" She was slandered and libeled and perjured by people who were manipulating the masses. What caused the food shortages in France back then? Volcanic eruptions in Iceland and the ash and smoke clouds destroyed the harvest. That led to famine and someone had to be blamed, so the Royals and the established government and aristocracy were blamed. Rabbi Yeshua asked, "Who can stand before envy?" To be fair, Marie Antoinette ate very little herself even though there was food for her. Evidence of that is in her dress size.
4. hahaha Rivka, don't argue with me on that subject !!

more millionaires only means more desperately poorer people...
6. Only 10 million millionaires? Depends on definition.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (06.25.10)
A few years ago, there were some 8 million in the US alone, based on net worth not counting the value of one's primary residence. The tighter criteria described suggests that only cash or "near cash" counts, as other assets can decline in value or be harder to monetize. But if that is the case, Terry's reference to the exchange rate is also relevant. For even cash money can decline in value in purchasing power and relative to other currencies.

10. Millionaires in Israel
Arieh Lebowitz ,   West Orange, NJ USA   (03.27.11)
Not unrelated, is it still the case that 25 percent of children in Israel are living in families classified as living at or below the country's poverty line?
11. Millionaires in Israel
Robert ,   Vineburg   (12.04.11)
...And yet America, the place where charity, hospitality and tolerance have all become four-letter words and are routinely carried to suicidal extremes, sends 30 billion to Israel annually---blind raging stupidity has taken on a whole new dimension in America.
