63. Building in Kashmir, Tibet, Chechnya?
Nadav ,   tlv   (06.24.10)
Why is he signling out Israel? There a hundred disputed territories and cities in the world, yet ONLY ISRAEL is EVER singled out! and then people wonder why Israel thinks the UN is biased? Obviously the Muslim majority in the UN can do whatever they want in the UN and Israel and the Jews must suffer because of it. Why is Turkey allowed to illegally demolition and settle Northern Cyprus without UN reprimend, the same to Tibet, Chechnya, Falklands, Basque, North Ireland, Corsica, Kosovo, S. Osetia, Abkazia, Negorno Karabak, Kashmir and Jammu, Western Sahara, the Azou Strip, etc- yet the Arabs make the UN care only about some 13 Muslim Arabs who illegally built on empty State land and now have to have their property demolished!
64. 1000s of homes in W Jerusalem?
(06.24.10)
are you kidding me? Your "friend" told you they plots of orange groves! Give me a break with your Arab propaganda! There are MORE Arabs in West Jerusalem than ever in its history! Jews were the majority in ALL of Jerusalem until 1967, when Jordan illegally invaded and occupied East Jerusalem, murdering Jews, uprooting Jewish cemeteries, and destroying synagogues. Believe whatever Arab lies you want, but we will NEVER give up Jerusalem to a jihadist Arab Muslim Regime- and the Christians are behind us in that! Christians know that if israeli Jews didn't protect them they too would be forced out and persecuted!
65. ban Ban
Johnny ,   Nazareth   (06.24.10)
This man is a poppy, he has become a puppet in the hands of muslims. The UN isn't UN anymore, it's UNFIC = United Nations For Islamic Countries.

67. #49 ..and I challenge yours, Matty
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (06.24.10)
Dr Jacques Gautier has done his homework on this matter to the tune of 25+ years with an ensuing doctorate. My money's on him knowing more about this than you, Ban Ki Moon and myself and I'll take his word against yours hands down when it comes to the legal aspects...not the political and not the religious ones See what he has to say about your conjecture ..link at post #48
68. :: Mark - #67
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (06.24.10)
Jake stated that “*according to international law*, Israel has every right to annex territory conquered in a defensive war”. I challenged Jake to back up his claim by referring to *actual international laws* that give Israel this so-called ‘right’. Referring me to someone’s ‘opinion’ is *not the same* as citing ‘actual international laws’. Mark unless you can actually cite international law(s) that declare that Israel has a right to annex territory conquered in a war don’t waste my time. BTW “I'll take his word” means nothing, all you are saying is that you will believe his ‘opinion’ over another ‘opinion’, this is a useless stance as it is not grounded in any form of ‘fact’. I have cited the actual references to international law which rubbish Jake’s claim; can you actually refer to actual in individual international laws that refute my references? I think not.
69. out of context
Gene ,   tlv israel   (06.24.10)
Don't quote passages out of context luv; quote the Geneva conventions in CONTEXT! The geneva conventions discuss only occupied territory, which Jerusalem is NOT, it is officially disputed territory, since it was and is not part of a soverign, internationally recognized State. On another note, Israel was created with the consent of the UN, so it is irrelevant to even discuss the Balfour declaration at this point anyway. Jews are the indigenous ethnic group here, which is even now GENETICALLY proven as such, "Palestinian" Arabs are invaders from the Arabian peninsula. They are as indigenous to Israel as you white folk are in Australia! so mind your own business and read a book for once in your life!
70. Palestinians do live in Tel Aviv

72. Israel and the UN
Ron B. ,   Lod   (06.24.10)
Israel and the UN At the United Nations, a lynch mob for Israel is always just a moment away. The Islamic countries are a reliable source of venom, led by the Arab bloc; what we used to call the “non-aligned” are all aligned against Israel and happy to join the fun; and the Europeans can be counted on for hand-wringing rather than staunch resistance. Only the United States, and a few brave allies like Canada and Australia, can be counted upon to oppose diplomatic lynchings year after year; and only the United States can stop them in the Security Council. 73. A pattern of hate that cannot be undone
Ron B. ,   Lod   (06.24.10)
The world will always condemn Israel regardless of its intentions. But like any form of namecalling, those condemnations only gain power when Israel allows its actions to be dictated by them. Israel is not condemned because of what Israel does. It is condemned because of a diseased pattern of Islamic bigotry, left wing radicalism and international dhimmism converging in one place. This is a pattern of hate that cannot be undone. It can only be ignored. More at : http://xrl.us/bhpa9r
74. Matty Groves ignores international laws
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (06.24.10)
We OWN all land west of the Jordan River by international law. That is even in the UN Charter. We did not 'acquire' in a war - we liberated it. To date not one person has ever produced a single legal claim by the Arabs to Judea and Samaria, why not? Maybe because they have no legal claim. Since the Arabs built on government land, of course they couldn't get permits and yes it is absolutely legal to teat them down. As for Ban - he is the one violating international law . Article 2 Paragraph 7. Nothing contained in the present Charter shall authorize the United Nations to intervene in matters which are essentially within the domestic jurisdiction of any state or shall require the Members to submit such matters to settlement under the present Charter; but this principle shall not prejudice the application of enforcement measures under Chapter VII.

77. :: Gene - #69
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (06.24.10)
You really believe that don’t you you poor thing. In reality the Geneva Conventions set the international standards for humanitarian treatment of the victims of war *regardless* whether these victims are living in occupied territories or not. Really Gene? So *who* ‘officially’ disputes this territorial claim? Hm? It is not the Israelis as they claim it is ‘officially’ part of the Israeli state. It is not the UN/EU/US State Dept/etc as they call claim it is officially ‘occupied territory’. So tell us Gene *who* ‘officially’ disputes this territorial claim on Jerusalem?
78. :: Gee - #74 - Time waster
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (06.24.10)
Like I said cite me the actually referenced to International Law to back up your silly claims. By reference I mean eg: UN Charter, article 2, para. 4 (1945) Either put up or shut up.
79. Mr. Groves, why do you hate Jews so much?
Shell   (06.24.10)
80. Royal Gardens/Shiloach Homes
Jay ,   San Francisco,CA   (06.24.10)
1) Of course all of the land of ISrael belings to Israel, Any other group is squatting and in occuaption of her lands. But here it is even worse. Not only are the Arab homes built illegaly. This land was redeemd/purchased by Rothchild. Arabs did not live here even in occupation before. They came squatted and built illegal sturctures. The problem is that the Municipality wants to give ownership for free to the 66 homes of the occupiers!! and then make the land of the 22 homes into a park. Orginally this was the Jewish/israeli king;s royal gardens.

SHAME, what a "misken'na"
84. 56 Albrecht Klein
Mark of Lewiston ,   Lewiston USA   (06.24.10)
The right to acquire territory by conquest was abolished at the end of WW II. Starting with a series of treaties in 1948, Israel agreed with this principle, but seems to think is doesn't apply the Israel's conquests because they are "defensive" conquests. But then the claim was that Pearl Harbor and Case White were "defensive," too. The "right" died with the end of WW II, killed off by the Allies, and rightly so.
85. ....and what if it is "illegal" for Jews to build Judea??
Jake ,   USA   (06.24.10)
