1. If purchased, how can Israel know the ships have not been
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (06.24.10)
damaged and sabotaged? Are there no Israeli shipbuilders! Only buy from a shipbuilder that believes in defending the Free World!
2. So what?! Only a BIG deal.
Israeli 2   (06.24.10)
The article did NOT state that the investors object to selling it to Israel. Or did they?
3. #1 the same thing Turkey would say about the Drones they
socalmaverick ,   sunny so-cal   (06.24.10)
purchased from israel. how do we know that the drones were damaged and sabotaged?
4. Why doesn't Israel buy the majority stake in the company
Tony   (06.24.10)
or the major competitor? Or why not build the ships themselves and in the process develop the know-how? Even if it's more expensive, it's an investment that's well-worth it.

Israel has its own ship building capability so I am sure they willow know if there has been any physical sabotage and considering all the weapons and electronics get installed in Israel and not Germany they can't steal our knowledge or sabotage it. Its just a shame that we will be buying German and not design & build our own which we did up until the Saar 5 but guess it's cheaper and quicker to buy off the held boats from foreigners. I certainly hope these arabs who own the company put profit before international politics and don't try to block the sale.
6. #3 - because of years of precedent between Turkey, Israel
William ,   Israel   (06.25.10)
and the Turkish military WANTS to work with Israel, is friendly with Israel, and is opposed to Erdogan. There is no prior working arrangement with the UAE investors, and Arabs have a history of going back on prior agreements even when Israel is still adhering to them. They cite justification through Muhammed's actions of the same.
7. They would be VERY stupid investors
William ,   Israel   (06.25.10)
especially at a time when many investors lost billions in Dubai recently. It would be stupid to invest in a company then cancel a $600 million deal. Gulf Arabs might hate Jews...but they place business first.
8. They cannot be sabotaged
Jewish Warrior   (07.02.10)
Because the Arabs only invest and finance the company, but the Germans are the ones who actually build them. Its a company of Arab shareholders and German bosses and workers.
