1. Halutz might think Lebanon was a victory not many do
zionist forever   (06.24.10)
He is one of the individuals most responsible for the Lebanon fiasco. He says Lebanon was a great success but I think most others both in and outside Israel see it as a loss, at best it was not a loss but just not a victory. Former air force general Halutz was convinced the war could be won with air power alone and despite the calls for more infantry by the officers in Lebanon he refused until the very last days by which time it was to late. Let the current chief of staff decide what to do in future conflicts & Halutz retire and write yourself a fictional book about the great Lebanon victory achieved thanks to the best chief of staff the country has ever had.

avrom ,   bet shemesh   (06.24.10)
when you have done one per cent of what Halutz did in his illustrius career i will give you permission to add a talkbalk i think you owe General Halutz an apology
4. Yees the First in to do list:Go your bank sell Stock shares!
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (06.24.10)
Halutz visited bank just a day before Israeli defeat in Lebonan, He ordered bank to sell Stocks and buy ...gold-not sure if anything better. II Lebonan War changed Israelid defence forces to Israeli Defeated Forces and Floatila raid changed Israeli Elite Commandos image to Israeli Elite Screaming Girls

that you are good at daydreaming and masturbating. All just lies. I guess this goes for all pathetic jew haters. Better get an English teacher.
9. #3 that is not an argument.
Golan ,   modiin   (06.25.10)
Dan Halutz is one of the most hated men in Israel. He was a failure as Chief of Staff. And the Second Lebanon War was a fiasco because of bad leadership, not because of fighting men. And why was the war ended without Gilad? Second Lebanon War ended with Hamas rockets still falling on Israel (that goes for Caste Lead too)
10. Dan Halutz: SHUT UP!
P.O. ,   world   (06.25.10)
As a IDF chief of staff you were a total FAILURE! If IDF kicked asses in the last four days of 2006 war, it was NOT BECAUSE OF YOU!
11. You haven't appeared to understand the
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (06.25.10)
book, "resistor". "All Quiet on the Western Front" was a powerful and sensitive portrayal of war by Erich Maria Remarque. Eseentailly, it was an anti-war novel from the perspective of a young German. I understand your need to get a "fix" by posting on Ynet but why bring an excellent European author into your dengenrative flagellations? It only adds to your lack of credibility.
12. Nasrallah and the truth about the second Lebaness war.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (06.25.10)
Nasrallah concealed the true facts from the Lebanese people and perhaps even from Iran. Hezbollah fed reports of successes and victories to both audiences. Despite the false reports, however, Tehran likely realized the scope of disaster Hezbollah had suffered, and there is no doubt that Nasrallah himself grasped the extent of the damage that had been done to his organization and himself. 13. 2006 Lebanon War
Norman ,   Philippines   (06.25.10)
Comparing the situation before and after the Lebanon war, it is quite clear that war had brought senses to the Hezzies despite their daily rhetoric against Israel. Hezzies resort to a verbal threat rather firing rockets towards Israel. In short they learn their lessons well. They can have more rockets but if war break out once more, they could be in a sorry state.
14. a proposition for you Tayfun.
Normal ,   Beer Sheva   (06.25.10)
you say that the sraeli commandos are "Screaming Girls " and I've read in another post by you that turkish commandos have no fear, if so, pick the 5 best of your commandos, send them to israel, I'll rent a hall and stuff it with 300 israelis and pro-israel activists without any weapons. some of the people inside will have combat training and some wont, I'll order about 50-60 to assault every turkish commando that enters the hall, I'll arm your commandos with paintball gun and send them in. I know what you imagine/think will happened and I know what will most probably happened... what kind of photos will be emerged from that hall?

the 2006 as the last war but sure it is the second lebanon war but sure there is the first and there is before the first the 81 then the pullout then two intifada gaza war or disengagment it is one chain to israil evry circle weaken the chain ...it is the truth about israil wars
16. Well..
John ,   Herzliya, Israel   (06.25.10)
First of all it is difficult to judge, especially when the goals of military campaign in Lebanon in 2006 were not clearly set. Second, he is right in the part that the self proclaimed winners are hiding in bunkers, especially their big boss, the biggest mouth of them all.

avrom ,   bet shemesh   (06.25.10)
Asyou quite rightly say the Second Lebanon War and Cast Lead failed because of bad POLITICAL leadership and the POLITICAL restraints imposed on the IDF by the politicians .So i do not understand why people have to make cheap and easy insults from their armchairs from people who have done nothing or risked their lives unlike Dan Halutz who flew over syria 1973 under a barrage of deadly SAM.s
18. Robert #11
Resistor   (06.25.10)
Ah, you understand my point then Robert. Israel thrives on being constantly at war. When was a time since 1948 that Israel hasn't been at war with one of its neighbours?? Israel does not want peace

zionist forever   (06.25.10)
I am not criticizing Halutz entire career I am sure he has probably done alot of things right in his time otherwise he would have never even been considered as chief of staff. I am criticizing his time as chief of staff and how he handled Lebanon. He screwed it up. I live in Israel, I was here during the Lebanon war, I have served in the IDF so please do not say I have no right to criticize. Both and an individual, and as an israeli citizen who has been in the army it is my right to criticize.
20. #18 your mind is resisting the truth
Jrodstein ,   Basalt, Colorado   (06.25.10)
it is the arabs that want no peace with Israel, they want no Israel at all! this is very obvious by fact that they started all the wars. you are living in opposite world from truth!
21. Resistor#18
Ted ,   UK   (06.25.10)
So, Israel, is as you suggest is thriving on war and all it's neighbours are just innocent peace lovers..mmm If I was fond of drugs, I would have told you: I would like to try the stuff that you are smoking man..
22. 19 we want positive criticism not negative criticism
avrom ,   bet shemesh   (06.25.10)
Please tell us what your strategy would have been for the war remember Halutz was under political constraintsand orders

So far, you seem to resist the need for a dictionary. Check the spelling before making a fool of yourself and then by all means proceed with reckless abandon as you seem quite capable. You ask the question, " When was a time [ poor sentence construction ] since 1948 that Israel hasn't been at war with one of it's neighbours [ again, Resister, avail yourself of a dictionary, neighbours is what ,French?] Then you finish up with that grand old Arabism, " Israel doesn't want peace". Sigh.............. ! Resister, you and your ill conceived notions of war and peace mirror the ill conceived notions of truth and justice, action and reaction displayed by Israel's neighbors. You bring the war and Israel brings the peace, get it shmuck ? Israel's neighbors brought the war and were defeated. They are still militating toward Israel's defeat. Axiom: Every time Israel is attacked, Israel becomes stronger. Since the Arab pogroms of 1929 and 1936 the Arab strategy has been to attack first and lick wounds later. Poor strategy. The moment that Israel was voted into existence at the UN, Israel's neighbors attacked in an all out war. One million Jews in Arab countries were physically thrown out of their countries of birth and absorbed into Israel. Israel wants peace Resister, it is the Arabs and you that don't want Israel !
