Only Israel's government can make a deal to bring Gilad Shalit home. But they don't want to do that. Complaining about the US and EU is a waste of time and effort. Neither the EU nor the US holds the people that Hamas wants, only the Israeli government does. Even after engineering Hamas into power and into Iran's arms, the US has no influence with them. George Bush didn't do it right. And now even urging Hamas, in a talkback, to release Shalit can land an American in jail for life.
