1. Instate a death penalty for terrorists and start executing
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & New York   (06.25.10)
Israel has played too soft with Hamas for years. Instate a death penalty for terrorist activities like planning suicide bombing and then try and execute 1 person from the top of their list each day that Gilad is held against international law.
2. Ynet - why even give these buffoons a platform??
No idiot   (06.25.10)
Nothing but propoganda and manipulation... Give me a break - "appreciate" their "initiative"???... Great initiative - violating international law and not permitting the International Red Cross to visit Gilad.... and lets shed a tear for those "poor" terorists in jail (including females) who plotted and executed the killing of innocent civillians including women and children...... Also, "we won't spare any effort to release our prisoners, including the option of taking additional soldiers captive.".... LOL - what's new??... Hamas/PRC are constantly trying to kidnap more soldiers.... even while we speak and they will continue to do so if they see that releasing Gilad in a prisoner exchange is a good way to get their terrorists out of jail... Ynet - why even give these buffoons a platform??
3. There is only one way to get Shalit back.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (06.25.10)
Start targeted assassinations of Hamas leaders until he is released. No negotiations, no prisoner releases, nothing. And, our border with Gaza should be sealed completely & that includes electricity & money from the PA.
4. Rescue mission
Arrow   (06.25.10)
No negotiations with terrorists, 4 years of using diplomatic ways led to nowhere. They never sent back alive IDF soldier, but Israel released many terrorists for the sake of 'swap'. Despite all risks, I would suggest rescue mission. The unit may be composed of volunteers, giving their best shot. G-d help them and Gilad to return back alive and well.
5. #4-Why must others die to attain Shalit's release
Alan ,   SA   (06.25.10)
Once we swap a few hundred murderers for Shalit, I promise you the next kidnap will be round the corner. Its easdy to kidnap a lone soldier or anyone from somewhere in Israel The Shalit family must be patient. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO COMPARISON TO RON ARAD!
6. Perhaps the newly launched, highly touted,
Erastus CoupeDeVille ,   Ong's Hat, NJ USA   (06.25.10)
technical genius inspired spy sattelite (ofek9), should turn it's all-seeing eyes from the trackless wastes of Iran onto the teeny tiny strip of land called Gaza and locate the hidden POW. If the IAF can locate and pinpoint smuggling tunnels, I'm sure that a POW in a basement would be mere childs play for the technical wizardry of this satellite. Here's another thought... how about bribing several Gaza residents to try and locate the POW... the enticement of a pillow case full of cash and a new identity just might be enough for someone to do the deed.
7. Abu Mujahed the Modern Day Pharaoh of Egypt
Panda Bear ,   Omaha Nebraska USA   (06.25.10)
Sounds to me like Abu Mujahed is more like the Pharaoh of Ancient Egypt. He and his co-criminal element have hardened their hearts against the children of Israel and have deluded themselves into thinking that they are going to come out of all this winners. They don't think that their arrogance will come back to bite them. That their arrogance spits in the very face of G-d. They don't consider that G-d might actually call up a modern day Moses that will say to old Abu Mujahed: "Let My Gilad Shalit Go." They don't consider that G-d just might have something to say about their criminal behavior and decided to maybe open up the earth an swallow all those Palestinian people that want to keep holding on illegally to Gilad and not let him go. It isn't hard for me to believe G-d could and would say to the wind: "Come, lift up high Abu Mujahed and smash him to the earth below, that his bones be crushed and his breath be taken away from him. for the theft of Gilad Shalit, who belongs to me." Nope, I surely can believe that Abu Mujahed and his co-criminals spitting in the face of G-d is going to cause them to lose big time in the end from all of this game playing with Gilad and the torture they put him through.
8. The evil that is Hamas
Daniella   (06.25.10)
Abu Mujahed - "we have no intention of giving up on our demands'. Such evil words. You better believe what he says as Hamas' demands are their raison d'etre. Keeping Shalit, and making their demands is just a ploy - as long as huge sums from all and sundry keeps pouring in why should they give up anything? Will the free world not learn?
9. Hi Israelis,
Al Mujahid   (06.25.10)
increase your pressure against your stubborn government if you want Shalit's release.
10. What"s going on?...Abduct the abductor !
Roland Seener ,   London England   (06.25.10)
11. Al Mujahid
newyorkone   (06.25.10)
The kidnapper blames the victims for the failure to release the prisone! So typical of Arab strategy over the years. Constant failure to admit your own responsibility for the sorry state of affairs in the Middle East. I have another idea, to end the blockade of Gaza and to improve the living conditions of the Arabs of the West Bank and Gaza: 1) Recognize Israel as the state of the Jewish People; 2) Renounce violence against Israel and Jews; 3) Stop smuggling weapons and using them against Israel; and 4) Release Gilad. I think you'll be surprised (and a little scared) how quickly things improve!
12. "these people (Pals) are suffering in prison"
William ,   Israel   (06.25.10)
...with freedom of movement, regular visits by families and the Red Cross, with access to outside information and the ability to send/receive packages, and the option to continue their education...while in an air conditioned environment while their brethren roast in the summer heat in Gaza. Yeah - tough life. It reminds me of the story of one such "Palestinian" from the West Bank who did all he could to get arrested because his "life options were better in an Israeli prison than in the West Bank". It also reminds me of the claims of torture and rape in Israeli prisons to which "Palestinian" women vehemently denied it and chastised those who even made the claim.
13. #9 - or we could just increase pressure on Gaza
William ,   Israel   (06.25.10)
until you do the same.
14. #9 (Let Israelis Pressure G-d)
Carole Forsman ,   Omaha Nebraska USA   (06.26.10)
#9, sorry to disappoint you. But I suggest the Israelis pressure G-d to speak to the wind, earth, sea, mountains, moon, and sun to come against the thieves that stole Gilad Shalit. I know that is what I plan to do this Shabbot, is pray that G-d come quickly against those that stole Gilad. That G-d would cut off the hands of those that stole him and those that seek to steal other such men as Gilad. That G-d open the earth and swallow and consumme those in Gaza that praise such criminal behavior and stealing. That G-d send the sea to overtake them in their attempts to further harm the Gilad's of this world. That G-d send the mountains tumbling down upon their Gazan heads to their demise so that an end would come to these criminal acts of theirs. That G-d would burn and poison their skin those that stole Gilad and would not repent of their evil and return him healthy and unharmed. That G-d would close off the light of the moon to their eyes so they would know the darkness of their hearts have caused all these calamities that befell them. That they would know that G-d was not pleased with their criminal behaviors. Daughters of The Most High G-d pray for Gilad Shalit and join me in pray against those that stole him. Let all the Daughters of The Most High G-d pressure G-d to come against those that stole him and take such pleasure in their criminal behaviors. Pressure G-d, seeing these Gaza criminals do not seek to Teshuvah and turn from their stealing and their criminal behaviors. So Israeli's, Pressure G-d, not the Israeli Government. Son's of The Most High G-d pray for the destruction of those that wish to steal you and who stole Gilad Shalit. Remember when you pray: "And You G-d are a shield for me; my glory and the lifter up of my head." (Psalms 3:4). During the Amidah when you Pressure G-d, remember the Shield of David and that G-d is the lifter up of your head as well.
15. PROTEST HAMAS
Annie ,   Israel   (06.27.10)
Why are we not demonstrating against them? Burning their flag? These people are pure evil - they are Islamic fundamentalists that long ago would have beheaded this boy if they didn't have anything to gain from keeping him alive. It's sick!
16. Gilad the ultimate last word
steven teiko ,   westchester USA   (06.27.10)
What would happen If "G-D forbid Gilad committed suicide just to spit 1 last time in the face of his inhuman captors
