1. Military Operation Will Secure Shalit's Death
World Citizen ,   the world   (06.25.10)
But I suspect that is what the government of Israel wants anyway. Shalit is a thorn in the side of Bibi and the Israeli military. What a simple solution. Bibi won't have to negociate with Hamas. He gets to keep the thousand of Palestinian politican prisoners. The Shalit problem will be history.
2. Why does every 1 want OTHERS to die to obtain Shalits releas
Alan ,   SA   (06.25.10)
If swap for Terros -the terros will kill If send IDF to do an Entebbe, some soldiers will die He must wait -there are other ways
3. Hamas wants to exchange 1 Jew for 450 Arabs.
leo ,   usa   (06.25.10)
If Shalit dies it is only fitting 450 terrorist prisoners must die in response.
4. World Citizen #1
Eeaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (06.25.10)
If we negotiate with Hamas as you seem to suggest Israel should then Shalit will die of old age before he comes home. If you talk to terrorists then you only encourage them and you will end up having more Shalit's in the future.
5. To Miki Goldwasser
Ralph Levy ,   USA   (06.25.10)
While we all hope for his release but how many innocent Israelis including children must die for the release of your son if terrorist with blood on their hands are released. Remember Ahmed Yassin who was the head of Hamas who was released in a exchange. How many Israelis did he kill afterward. Do you have no compassion? http://ralphsrant1.blogspot.com
6. Gilad Shalit
judith ,   Rishon, Israel   (06.25.10)
I cannot believe that my government does not know where Gilad is being held. Releasing terrorists is not the answer. Commandos and amazing force is the answer.
7. The only solution to these types of
(06.25.10)
problems, that involving muslim terrorists is: exterminate each and everyone of them. Show them no mercy, as these are monsters in human clothings. Those remaining will be cowed into silence and non -action. They will always flex their 'muscles' if you show them you are weak and manipulable.
8. #6 Judith
Dennis Greenstein ,   NJ USA   (06.25.10)
You are 100% correct. Im shocked and dismayed that we (yes, im a former resident) cant use our great intel to find where he is and mount an operation to free him. or at least try to. The inactivity, and the continuing to supply these animals with medicine, water, food, electricity, etc is beyond my comprehension. Utterly un-f-believable. Im fiercely proud of my Israeli citizenship and my IDF service. When I think about the Shalit case, tho, I have an empty feeling where that pride usually sits....
9. #4 It Is Through Talking That Problems Are Solved
World Citizen ,   the world   (06.25.10)
The oft repeated lie that we can't negociate with terrorists is hogwash. Hamas is the democratically elected legal representative of the Palestinian people of Gaza. Hamas was created by Israel to counterbalance the leadership of the PA. The government of Israel has been negociating with Hamas for the release of Shalit all along. They just can't agree on the terms and Bibi and his Likkudnic friends can't stand the idea of looking weak to the right wing of Israeli society. Let us get one thing straight. We are talking about human beings here. Human beings on both sides who have no control of their own fates. Galid Shalit is a young man that reminds me very much of my own son. I hope and pray that this young man and his family are comforted each day by a merciful G_d. I want the same comfort for Palesinians lock up in Israeli gaols. I urge all people on both sides of the issue to use non-violent methods to stop the madness going on in the Middle East. For too long people have thought that going in with guns blazing is the only solution to all their problems. I tell you that talking to even those you consider your worse enemies is the only way to lasting peace. Please do this before you destory yourselves.

11. Gilad will be free
Zev ,   Israel   (06.25.10)
When it is no longer in the Interest of Hamas to hold him. There is more than one way to cause that.
12. THE RED CROSS AND SHALIT
Geoffic   (06.25.10)
Why do we not Publish and show the World that those perpetual do-gooders- THE SWISS RED CROSS- are not even trying to access SHALIT?
13. #12
Ali ,   Gaza   (06.25.10)
If red cross or who ever visit Shalit, then Israel will know the place and destroy it on th head of Shalit and his Jailors !!! Exchange Deal (sooner or later) is the only solution.. this is the lesson u must understand after 4 years !!
14. # 2
Ali ,   Gaza   (06.25.10)
Wait what ? he waited 4 yrs !! what are the other ways ? military action !! hahaha
15. There is a simple solution: Amass 50,000
Amir ,   Ba'Tzafon   (06.25.10)
soldiers on Gaza's border and give Hamas an hour to release Gilad. If they don't, all bets are off and we go in en-force. This time we finish what we were prevented from finishing in 2009. Total and complete annihilation of Hamas. Jabari, Haniye, Zahar you've been warned.
16. FINALY SOME UNDERSTANDING !!!.
Arn. ,   SWEDEN.   (06.25.10)
There is only one way to return Shalit back to his family: The operational alternative, HAMAS MUST GET A EXISTENTIAL TREATH, IF THEY DO NOT RELEASE GILAD SHALIT SAFE AND SOUND, ISRAEL WILL COME FOR HAMAS AND EXTERMINAT ALL ITS MEMBERS.. THE OTHER OPTION, TO STARVE THE GAZAN POPULATION EVEN TO DEATH, IF HE IS NOT RELEASED SEEMS THIS GOVERNMENT HAVE ABANDONED. THIS PRESENT SITUATION IS A SHAME TO ISRAEL, AND I DO BELIEVE TO COME FOR SHALIT AS ABOVE, HE WILL BE FOUND DEAD, IF FOUND AT ALL. Arn.
17. #15 & 16 Are Absolutely Right - Use Gas Chambers
Jim ,   Canada   (06.25.10)
You have the Palestinians in the concentration camp ... why stop now.
18. Hamas leaders
Pedro ,   Brazil   (06.25.10)
You maybe do not know where Shalit is. But What about all of Hamas leadears in Gaza?
19. wrong wrong wrong as usual
chaim. ,   brooklyn ny   (06.25.10)
giving in to murderous terrorist swines, never ends up good, there is a guaranteed way to get Schalit released within 48 hours, and we all know including the insane leftist cowards, how to do it, just tell these murderous animals in Gaza ,unless Shalitt released immediately, the electricity and water will be shut down.very simply put. NO SHALIT,NO WATER AND ELECTRICITY. Guaranteed shalit is home within 48 hours
20. #15 & 16. You Don't Want Shalit Freed
World Citizen ,   the world   (06.25.10)
You want to use him for an orgy of violence. And from your posts and many of the others today it is evident that this wish for vengence is eating your country and culture alive. But you are not hurting your enemies. You are killing yourselves. Living in Israel couldn't be a good thing if the average citizen has as high a stress level as some of the people making comments today.
21. World Citizen # 9
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (06.25.10)
Sometimes talk is good. Sometimes it is a waste of time. Look at how the British talked with Hitler and then announced peace in our time. It didn't work because Hitler didn't want peace. Negotiating with some people (such as Hitler) is like trying to negotiate with a rabid dog. It solves nothing and will only cause you more grief.
22. Give Hamas 24 hours
BH ,   Iowa   (06.26.10)
or they pay the price.
23. #20
Yellowdog ,   Chicago   (06.26.10)
It's not about glorifying violence or getting revenge. It's making the price of hostage taking too high.
24. Don't take this personally, Jim, but...
Steve ,   NH USA   (06.26.10)
...you are an ignorant moron. If you knew anything about the Holocaust or conditions on the ground in the Middle East, you wouldn't throw terms like "Concentration Camp" around.
25. #15
alex ,   pelestine   (06.26.10)
bring it on.. that all u know how to do scare the civilian.. 75% in the idf knows tha they are fighting something tha have no ending.. hamas a donky with ak 47 israel a merkava what a deterrence.. but israelis are scare to die hamastan they already know thattheir live depend on surviving......
26. # 13
Birdi ,   Israel   (06.26.10)
Ali have you ever heard of the word, blindfolded? The Red Cross etc could be easily blindfolded, so as not to know where Gilad Shalit is being held captive. Problem solved ! It is against the Geneva Convention to keep a captive from seeing the Red Cross. But as we all know Hamas is law only unto themselves.
27. Protest won’t change a thing
John Furstenberg ,   melbourne australia   (06.26.10)
Why don't we organise a flotilla of ships with international people and then sail to gaza with a petition to free Gilad? Where will the international press be then when Hamas refuses
28. #26
Ali ,   Gaza   (06.26.10)
Birdi, have you ever heard of the word, Surveillance ? Israel and Hamas know their business more than you expect .
29. I think already 5 Soldiers died chasing after kidnap group
Alan ,   SA   (06.26.10)
After Shalit was kidnapped, I think 5 soldiers chased after him and were ambushed AND KILLED Same when those two on Lebanese Border were kidnapped... Also a Tankfull of Soldiers were killed . I would not want MY SON going in to attempt a rescue of Shalit . If my son was kidnapped, I wouldnt want another 5 to be killed trying to chase after him! Shalit fmily cant internalise all this!
30. # 24
Birdi ,   Israel   (06.26.10)
You are 100% correct ,Steve.
