1. Jewish lobby ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.25.10)
... has nothing to do with it. Earlier this week the United States Supreme Court ruled, 6-3, that a terrorist organization is a terrorist organization, and that American persons -- individual or corporate; official or non-official -- may not have any contact at all with any terrorist organization. The Court also rejected the assertion that there are "moderate" elements in terrorist organizations, that one cannot separate out administrative or charitable functions of a terrorist organization from its military function. So what Hussein Obama is doing is just an outrageous attempt to put himself above the law. Perhaps Israel's clandestine services can work out a way to record or photograph such meetings. That would be another nail in Obama's coffin; another landmark on the road to impeachment.
2. Obama is breaking U.S. law by talking to Hamas.
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.25.10)
Obama not only tours the world apologizing for America's countless imaginary sins. Obama not only begs America's enemies to love him while demonzing America's long term allies. Now Obama is clearly breaking U.S. law by talking to Hamas. Obama is not merely a very bad president. He is a total disgrace.
3. Why wouldn't it arouse pressure groups?
William ,   Israel   (06.25.10)
After all, the US firmly placed Hamas on the terror list, and the US Court ruled that no American can aid terror groups. The fact that the US administration wants to speak with Hamas and legitimize them, against US law, should arouse the anger and pressure of every peace-loving American.
4. Perverse Obama is sick in the head
A Nice Fellow ,   Montreal   (06.25.10)

8. Obama/NATO must impose UN 1967 borders
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (06.25.10)
For National Security reasons, Obama must impose an interim solution on the ground along 1967 borders using NATO.
9. Good move, EU, Russia, China all talking to
Sam   (06.25.10)
Hamas, time for US as well. Pal unity is called for in order to move peace forward, only the US can bring it about.
10. If anyone is interested ...
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.25.10)
the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling, issued June 21, 2010, can be found here: http://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/09pdf/08-1498.pdf
11. A Solution for Obama
Sarah   (06.25.10)
Since he is President of the United States, and since he wants to work with Hamas so badly that he would (figuratively speaking) sneak around in back alleys to do it, why doesnt he just take Hamas off the list of Terrorist organizations? That way he can work to support them openly and unashamedly as the Muslim that he is.
12. PROUD OF OBAMA
AMERICAN   (06.25.10)
FANTASTIC. this shows that USA is finally talking and making allies with the ARAB world THANK god. !! It is so telling that the USA has to have a secret meeting with out the JEWS and ISRALElis knowing because the jew lobbies will get so jealous and furious that they will retalite anyway they can.

15. Hamas is here to stay, get used to it, pleased or not!!!!!!!
Malaw ,   US   (06.25.10)
16. 10 sarah, one man terrorist, another freedom fighter.
Dave ,   US   (06.26.10)
Lehi and Irgun were not exactly peace movements. PLO was considered terrorist organization till recenly, you probably still consider it as such. Be that as it may, Israel proved itself to be incompitenet in dealing either with the PLO and/or Hamas. Time for the adults in the room to take responsibility and make peace for the kids.
17. To: No. 11
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.26.10)
He cannot. It's not part of the executive's function. It is within the exclusive purview of the Homeland Security Agency, which Congress, in its infinite wisdom, made independent of the President. For example, the State Department's Office of the Coordinator for Counterterrorism (which sets threat assessments and monitors foreign terrorist organizations) compiles a list every two years. Better than half of the organizations on the list are Islamic; of those, most are Palestinian. You can read more about it here: http://www.state.gov/s/ct/rls/rpt/fto/2801.htm Scroll all the way to the end to get actual detail.
18. To: No. 12 and No. 13
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.26.10)
Post No. 12 ---------------- Those would be the same Arabs and Moslems that (i) blew up the United States Embassy and the Marine Barracks in Beirut; (ii) blew up the United Embassies in Tanzania and in Kenya; (iii) blew up the USS COLE; (iv) flew airplanes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and very nearly the White House. You are seriously out of touch if you think that the people of the United States want closer ties to the Arab and Moslem world. Hussein Obama might, but -- as his steep plummet in both approval and performance ratings clearly demonstrate -- he has far exceeded his mandate. Americans have made it abundantly clear that they prefer Israel to the Arab and Islamofascist world Post No. 13 ---------------- I don't think any of the United States Supreme Court Justices are dual citizens. They're the ones that addressed the issue of "illegal." And guess what? It is their job to interpret the law. It is the job of the president to FOLLOW the law. The Supreme Court of the United States is the court of last resort. The decision cannot be appealed. HA. HA. HA.
19. obama the weakest american pres since carter

22. #10 Yawn....
Eli ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (06.26.10)
No Sarah no one is interested.
23. The only people more stupid than these Hamas retards...
Ninjajustice ,   Los Angeles, CA, USA   (06.26.10)
...are the people who seriously believe that this is happening. If the US decided to contact Hamas and specifically told Hamas officials not to leak the information because that would destroy the talks, why would Hamas reveal this? It's obviously a Hamas plot to aggrandize themselves and sow further division between the Obama administration and Israel. Israelis need to get their heads out of the bloody bunker and use the reason that Jewish culture is so famous for.
24. #15 - Hamas will stay...as the terrorist group they are
William ,   Israel   (06.26.10)
Until they show a shred of decency or an ability to govern without throwing people off buildings or aiming rockets at civilians, then they might morph into something more in the future. But right now - they are and probably always will be a terrorist group, and will be listed and targeted as such. The only speaking I would do with Hamas is a phone call 5 seconds before dropping a bomb on Hamas homes.
25. #8 - how is playing with the lives of others good for US?
William ,   Israel   (06.26.10)
Britain forced borders 80 years ago and look at the mess we have today because of it. If the US thinks it will feel more secure because it forces 7 million civilians in rocket target range by appeasing Arabs, then they don't know Arabs very well. Better to force the "Palestinians" back to the table and hold them accountable to their actions - placing pressure on BOTH sides to negotiate per UN resolution 242. If you represent the average American (and I know you don't), I'm shocked to think that the UN actually acted smarter than the US.
26. To: No. 16
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.26.10)
Lehi and Irgun targeted British governmental and military installations. That makes them freedom fighters. Hamas, Hizbollah, and all the other violent Palestinian organizations deliberately target civilians. That makes them terrorists. Make peace for the kids? In Gaza? You're talking about people who pose their children dressed up as suicide bombers in their kindergarten photos. How does one make peace with people who do that? For that matter, how can one make peace with an organization that is sworn to the destruction of the State of Israel and the extermination of the Jews?
27. to Sarah B , U.S.A. / Israel
avida   (06.26.10)
the court decision applies very well to Israel.
28. I apologize for our taitorous muslum "president" who hates u
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (06.26.10)
29. US Pres. can override Court/Congress on foreign policies
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (06.26.10)
Due to separation of powers. Look at Pres. Jackson and Cherokee trail of tears or Pres. Reagan and weapon to Iran. Congress could impeach if they choose to but Court has very options. If talks help get Shalit home or Hamas to rejoin PA then let them talk.
30. To all those Americans proud
Johnny ,   Nazareth   (06.26.10)
of their president Obama, in case you forgot those people that you are supporting were dancing and giving away candy when 9/11 happened! What a proud great patriots you are along with your beloved president....
