1. Good Luck, But Remember...
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (06.27.10)
it isn't Israel who is holding Gilad hostage. It's the Arabs. It is against the Arabs that your pressure and anger should be directed. What are the Arabs doing to help secure Gilad's release????
2. Would do better if the march across Europe
King Ofer the Massia ,   Israel, Tel Aviv   (06.27.10)
Europe put the pressure on Israel to give up a leverage point against Hamas and Hamas couldn't care about what Israel wants to begin with... Europe should find the replacement pressure point to release Gilad Shalit who is also a French citizen. i.e. a citizen of the EU.
3. Gilad Shalit March (Flotilla)
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (06.27.10)
As # 1 said, it is the Hamas Arab's that are stubbornly not letting Gilad go. So, my idea is to march on Gaza - a female only march made up of mothers and grandmothers only - some famous faces in the group - being broadcast live by female photographers. And to not leave Gaza till Gilad is handing to these women to go home.
4. The answer to Gilad's release
rinah   (06.27.10)
It is written: "For when you return to Hashem, your brothers and sons will be regarded with mercy by their captors, and will be allowed to return to this land, for Hashem your God is gracious and merciful, and He will not turn away His face from you if you return to Him" 2 Chron 30:9
5. #2 is right
Yael ,   Tel Aviv   (06.27.10)
External pressure is what brought about the relaxation of pressure on Hamas. It is not just the Israeli govt though --it is not clear that Hamas is really willing to deal --and why should they when they feel no pressure from the world?
6. What a gigantic waste of time.
Ken Quinn ,   Amsterdam   (06.27.10)
Gilad is a prisoner of WAR. He has not been "kidnapped." After you win the WAR, you might get him back. So, get busy.
7. to number 6
its not a war   (06.27.10)
gilhad is not a prisoner of war! he wasnt fighting while hamas took him, he was in israel land, not in gaza, on a daily patrol, he was kidnapped!

Jerusalem Center ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (06.27.10)
Releasing Terrorists: New Victims Pay the Price Nadav Shragai   • In the past, the Israeli Cabinet has approved the release of almost 200 Palestinian security prisoners as a “goodwill gesture” to Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas. The list includes several prisoners “with blood on their hands,” who, by definition, were involved in the murder of Israelis. • According to an informal estimate by Israeli security bodies, about 50 percent of the terrorists freed for any reason whatsoever returned to the path of terror, either as perpetrator, planner, or accomplice. In the terror acts committed by these freed terrorists, hundreds of Israelis were murdered, and thousands were wounded. • Israel freed 400 Palestinian prisoners and five other prisoners in return for Elhanan Tannenbaum, who was held captive by Hizbullah, and for the bodies of three soldiers kidnapped on Mount Dov. According to Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee Chairman Tzahi Hanegbi, from the date of the deal on January 29, 2004, until April 17, 2007, those freed in the deal had murdered 35 Israelis. • An investigation by the Almagor Terror Victims Association in Israel revealed that at least 30 of the terrorist attacks perpetrated since 2000 were committed by terrorists freed in deals with terror organizations. Many were freed in the framework of goodwill gestures because they were defined by Israel as “without blood on their hands.” The bloody swath cut by these terrorists claimed the life of 177 persons, with many others wounded and made invalids.   http://tinyurl.com/26albpy

" WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO THE SMALLEST OF MINE, YOU HAVE DONE UNTO ME " !!!. THIS IS THE SAYING OF JEHOVAH - - WHEN JEHOVAH AS AS A HUMAN PRACTISE THE SECOND COMANDMENT , TO LOVE ONES NEIGHBOUR AS ONESELF. THE STATE OF ISRAEL, IS THE SHEEPHEERDER OF THE ISRAELI PEOPLE. WILL THE STATE ACT AS THE SHEEPHEERDER DAVID IN THIS REGARD, TO GO AGAINST THE WILD BEAST AND TAKE THE SHEEP OUT OF ITS MOUTH - -OR IS THIS A SHEEPHEERDER, WHO DOES NOT CARE FOR THE SHEEP GILAD SHALIT Arn.
13. read about the rights of prisoners of war
Duchess   (06.27.10)
and you will see that he is not one- as he has no rights, unfortunately, just like any poor, kidnapped individual.
14. If Salma the Pali #9 PRAISES this action...
Yitzchak ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (06.27.10)

17. March to Gaza
Ken   (06.27.10)
You should march to Gaza and cross the border there with all your thousands of participants. The palestinians won´t dear stop or shoot you.
18. #10 Consider this please
Rina   (06.27.10)
Terror will always be with us. No one knows for sure where it will strike next.. To keep Gilad in captivity for fear of the next terror attack is too big a price for any human to pay. We as a nation need to do our part in assuring Gilad's release. .
19. March is good, but i hope the Shalits eventually turn to GOD
brl ,   Israel   (06.27.10)
I cannot imagine their pain, but i hope they will take just a little bit of the hope they are puting in mere human beings -ie - the government, and turn it to G-d. He can do so much more...... I dont know if ynet quoted them wrong, but it wont only be with the help of the public, it will be with the help of God. God willing, may Gilad return to us speedily, alive and healthy....
20. # 6
Birdi ,   Israel   (06.27.10)

21. no.6
menachem ,   switzerland   (06.27.10)
gilad is not a POW. POW's have some rights (Visitor from red cross, writing letters and so on). Gilad is kept without any rights. Shalom
22. to #6 wrong he was kidnapped 4 years ago
ghostq   (06.27.10)
cast lead was in 2009 do the math. if you claim there was war 4 years ago what was its name? there wasn't any war, or any declaration of one.
23. Shalit is one issue where the government is acting responsib
zionist forever   (06.27.10)
The government is not giving into pressure from the Shalit supporters and agreeing to their demand of free him at any price. Bibi & his ministers accept everyman has a price beyond which we cannot pay and so far the price Hamas have been demanding is to high. It will lead to more kidnapings Possibly more suicide bombngs How will the Shalit supporters feel when we pay any price to get Gilad back and as a result of it being so profitable their son is taken. How will they feel if we release a terrorist and he later goes onto blow up a bus. Possibly even a bus a member of their family is on, who will they be blaming then the government because it wasn't doing enough to get Gilad back in their minds or themselves for trying to pressure the government into paying any price. Since the begining of oslo Israel has released thousands of terrorists either as goodwill gestures or to get back kidnaping victims. Hundreds of them have gone onto commit more attacks. The mastermind of the Park Hotel massacre was in jail but released. The job of a government is not to base policy on emotion but on whats responsible & Gilad supporters think with their hearts rather than their heads.
24. to #12 Amen, you said it correctly.
ghostq   (06.27.10)
25. Back at you #7
Ken Quinn ,   Amsterdam   (06.27.10)
You are not facing reality. You are short-sighted. You do not see the big picture. You haven't read the right stuff. Only when there is a Victory will there be real peace and freedom for the prisoners. And Ynet is part of the problem because it supports this nonsense that there is no war. Everyone in the world is laughing at you Israelis for the pursuit of this silly campaign, even your friends. The world knows you are at war with the so-called "Palestinians." And no one gives back prisoners of war until the war is over. So go ahead and stew over your situation, I can't help that.
