31. @SarahB The law is the law and everyone should accept it
Arash ,   Tehran-Iran   (06.27.10)
Do you have a problem with that?? And oh,please don't worry about us even the slightest bit. We are here to stay and frankly,we are just getting started. 30 Years is nothing in history.
32. #2
KACH 613 ,   Judah Israel   (06.27.10)
You say "here in Israel" yet you live in Brooklyn!! You sound like you have no idea what you are talking about, the only time according to the Torah that you can kill is only when there is a Bet Hamikdaosh. The Talmod says if a Bet Din puts someone to death more then once in 70 years they are murderers, which means your country, the united states of america, put people to death more often than a Torah state would. In my opinion, you are the typical chareidi bashing chareidi. Good day sir!
33. So, Avi...
Linichka ,   Gdynia, Poland   (06.27.10)
You advocate strict adherence to primitive Old Testament laws? How would this make us any different from these - uh, creatures? Sick, sick, sick. I believe that it is our interpretation of such "laws" which is perverted, not G-d's Word.
34. Yes, this is Sharia
glen ,   israel   (06.27.10)
Oh yes, Dan, this IS Shariah and it's what Mr Obama will stand up for while Israel gets the threats for being so nasty to the supporters of these laws, none other than Hamas!
35. Stonning is also Jewish?
joe   (06.27.10)
and it has nothing to do with ' fiddler on the roof '? How disgusting. To # 2 and # 30; I am not a religious Jew. I am simply a Jew who believes in a god called "decency ". If what you are telling me is true, I will fight tooth and nail these subhuman you call haredim with the same ardor I fought the barbarians.
36. #18 Petition and #22 half a story
Madeleine ,   Israel   (06.27.10)
Talula, I found a peition onthis site: http://www.petitiononline.com/Ashtiani/petition.html D. Fault is right - the fact that she and her boyfriend killed her husband is mentioned in the opening words on this site: http://www.stopstonningnow.com/sakine/sakin284.php?nr=50326944 I just put her name into Google - lots more info - those are the two I read.
37. "Soon in a Gaza next to you" !

Barbarian country ,   Israel   (06.27.10)
I hope you will find yourself or your relatives in similar situation in Gaza, judged by Hamas law. Then,we'lll se how you'll talk.
39. #30 so, you're an advocate of the death penalty ?
avi   (06.27.10)
The article doesn't tell she killed her husband herself, but even then, when it comes to the death penalty, I stand against no matter what. G.d gives life and G.d takes it back. Life in jail is a better deterrent than death anyhow. When you begin with the guillotine, noone knows how far it will go, ask Danton, Robespierre & al ...
40. muslim barbarism supported by left
bernard ross ,   st anns bay jamaica   (06.27.10)
and yet the global left ally with the barbarians against the jews
41. # 38
Salma ,   Palestine   (06.27.10)
First i can not put myself or my children in the future in such a situation, I think you read my comment without understanding what I meant, this happens a lot here!! good night
42. @ #25 & #26 - By definition...
Orly ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (06.27.10)
...if she was convicted of adultery then she was found guilty of doing the crime while her husband was still alive. Twice. With two different guys. And then collaborating with them to murder him. In a country that has divorce. With divorce proceedings that can be initiated by the woman. Save your pity for her children who will be orphaned by both parents on her account. She knew the severity of her crimes and she knew the consequences. She did not know she would get caught. Ignorance is no excuse - especially ignorance of getting caught. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.
43. #42 Orly, don't include me in that answer !!
avi   (06.27.10)
'cause you didn't.
44. #5 Ilana, this might sound crazy, but...
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (06.27.10)
I think the Mossad should save her life with a complex manoeuvre and bring her and her kids to Israel. There are a few excellent Persian restaurants in the vicinity of the Jaffa flea market. It would send a strong message to the the world that we save lives too. The message to Iran would be "Don't mess with us! "
45. #17 #19 She was RAPED you fools.
rebecca ,   Modiin   (06.27.10)
Sharia Law and countries that follow it do not acknowledge the term or the reality. Only under Sharia law can a woman who is Raped be stoned for Adultery. No wonder Muslims are taking over when fools like you cant see the obviousl.
46. Where is the UNITED NATIONS,EU, USA,HUMAN RIGHTs
Galut ,   Selah   (06.27.10)
They are all over israel for the slightest infraction....yet will turn thier face when serious and heinious injustice takes place in islamic countries.... to me there is something enormiously wrong with that picture - have we become whimps following socialist pide pipiers
47. # 36
Birdi ,   Israel   (06.27.10)
Jolly good Madeleine.Thanks. I just signed the petions.
48. Salma and the futility of being a non-Palestinian
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (06.27.10)
Here's an Iranian woman sentenced to a cruel and ugly death by a barbaric regime. Does Salma care about her? Well... read what she writes: "How many Palestinians don't deserve to die, killed by "Israel"?!" Funny, Salma, but how many Israelis don't deserve to die, killed by fascist Palestinians? Hundreds and hundreds of innocent Israeli men, women and children have been brutally killed by Palestinians, and this goes back before 1967 and 1948. Of course, these dead Israeli civilians have nothing to do with this Iranian women, so why do Palestinians have anything to do with her? Are you equating the Israeli and Iranian regimes? Funny comparison if you are. Or are you just so depraved with this narcissistic Palestinian propaganda that you simply fail to see that there are any other people on this planet other than Palestinians?
49. # 48
Birdi ,   Israel   (06.27.10)
Good observation on your part, Brian. I think your last sentance describes Salma to a T.
50. # 44
Birdi ,   Israel   (06.27.10)
Mark, you mean Israel should save this poor woman & her kids before we bomb their nuclear sites....dont you ??
51. To: No. 31
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.27.10)
I have a problem with the barbaric nature of Iran's capital punishment. Stoning someone to death? Hanging people from jib cranes so that they strangle to death slowly? And you call yourself a civilized society? What's next? Drawing and quartering? Crucifixion? Yours is a disgusting, backward and primitive society.
52. #19, Fair Trial??
Michael ,   J'lem, Israel   (06.27.10)
To # 19, do you think this woman had a fair trial, or any trial at all? Do you think there isn't anything more to this? These were two men who murdered her husband (read the story), somehow I doubt this was consentual.
53. #5
akh ,   jerusalem   (06.27.10)
what makes you think that the two acts of sex were not the acts of her husbands merderers that raped her? I'll try not to jump to conclussions if you don't jump to comclusions.... The story is horrifying either way. Your conclussion is even more so.
54. @ #45 rebecca - Her Lawyer...
Orly ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (06.27.10)
...never suggests that she was innocent of the sexual or murder crimes of which she has been convicted...or at least that the adulterous sexual conduct was non-consensual - not even when talking with the foreign press. Neither do her children. Your mind has written a fairytale about about a similar woman who was raped and then widowed by her murderous rapists. That is not the woman in this article. Sometimes bad things happen to bad people - but maybe you just can't handle that.
55. stone a woman to death because of having sex???
Marcelo ,   World   (06.27.10)
This iranian regime is not human.
56. murder?
Amy ,   Scottsdale, AZ   (06.27.10)
How do you conclude she murdered her husband?
57. #54 Her lawyer considers her innocent of all crimes
Cynthia ,   USA   (06.27.10)
"Lawyer Mohammad Mostafaie, who represents Ashtiani, also maintains her innocence. Writing on his personal blog, the lawyer described Ashtiani's stoning as imminent and said his client will be executed "for an offense she has not committed." This woman is not accused of murder. Murderers are hanged in Iran. She is being accused of adultery and she already received 99 lashes, her original sentence. Why isn't she being set free if she did not commit murder and she already received her punishment for adultery?
58. Even a broken clock is right twice a day...
GefilteFish ,   USA   (06.28.10)
That these abuses of human rights by Iran and other Muslim regimes has to stop. That is why we have separation of church and state in this country. But if she was my wife and had sex with multiple men I would want her stoned to death too.
59. Death by stoning
Michel C ,   Edmonton Canada   (06.28.10)
This is such a cruel punishment. None one in this day and age should ever to be subjected to this vulgar capital punishment. We can tell that the government of Iran has had their head in the sand for centuries, forgetting to look at the outside world and see that their 1000 year old laws don't fit today's communities and its people.
60. #50 Birdi
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (06.28.10)
Something like that, Birdi. On further reflection, I don't think anything we do will deter these Mad Mullahs and their Fatwah on our people and lovely bit of real estate. They need to be taken down a peg or three. I have no animosity toward the Persian people per se, I was at international school with kids of the the Iranian elite, late '60s/early 70s. Most are out of Iran now but a few remain. All I can hope it that it'll be 'smart warfare' and that there'll be minimum collateral damage...IF and WHEN.... push comes to shove
