1. Pathetic attempt to save face
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.28.10)
Truth be told, there is nothing that Hizbollah would like more than dialogue with the United States. They KNOW they have a very sympathetic ear in the White House. On Monday, June 21, 2010, however, the United States Supreme Court served notice on the current administration that no United States person (individual, corporate or other) may engage in any contact whatsoever with a terrorist organization. To do so would be a violation of no fewer than six statutes. Hizbollah is grievously disappointed. This show of defiance by Kassem does not disguise the true sentiments currently experienced by the leadership of Hizbollah, Hamas and all the other Palestinian organizations classified as "terrorist." Those sentiments would be anger, frustration and keen disappointment (they thought they had access to the White House and the Supreme Court slammed the door shut in their faces). Sweet.

3. SINCE WHEN DOES THE US SPEAK TO TERRORISTS?

The terms are very simple and straightforward. It's time we dropped this cozy relation with Israel; it does America no good and is indeed detrimental. Then we will find that we can have a productive dialogue with Hezbollah and with Islam in general. Our current liaison with Israel simply makes no sense.
5.  is best for Israel
sam ,   colorado   (06.28.10)
"as if it is happening tomorrow." They don't want dialogue with US until it changes his policy which is pro-Israel and also totally biased toward it the United States should break with long-standing policy and start talking to the Iranian but I add Syria too, because these countries have a long hand in Iraq - Lebanon - Gaza - Afghanistan and Yemen recently too so We can not be to ignoring of Iran and Syria from the regional equation,The only solution is two states living side by side in peace,This is best for Israel in the near term and even long-term
6. Come the November wlections and there
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (06.28.10)
will even be less sympathy and far more outright hostility for Hezbollah than there is now and no one will dare approach Congress about communicating with terrorists. Things will become much harder on them then.
7. True, true, I agree
Ali ,   Middle East   (06.28.10)
Cause dialogue has to go through Hizbollah mom and dad, aka Iran and Syria. If they agree, then that's fine.
8. #3. Your answer
A ,   Belgium   (06.28.10)
Since they have a president who isn't far from being one himself

Nobody is more upset about this Supreme Court ruling ruling than Obama who would like to open dialogue with Osama Bin Laden if he could. Obama believes in diplomacy, diplomacy, diplomacy and the US should be a pacafist.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.28.10)
I concur in part and dissent in part. I agree that Hussein Obama is hugely upset by the United States Supreme Court's telling smackdown of his unlawful attempt to circumvent United States law. I dissent to the extent that you state that Obama believes in diplomacy. He doesn't. He believes that Israel should capitulate to its implacable foes -- which happen also to be the implacable foes of the United States and any other democracy, but Obama's narcissism and hatred of Israel prevents him from seeing that. Unless, of course, he is a closet Islamofascist. He was very active in radical Moslem student organizations while at Columbia (until he developed political aspirations and had his PR people completely reinvent him). No matter. If he isn't impeached following the mid-term elections in November, he will not be re-elected. Unless he wants to be as humiliated as Carter was when he ran for a second term, Obama won't even seek re-election. Given the steep drop in his performance and approval ratings, the American people are disappointed in Hussein Obama. Three cheers for the U.S. Supreme Court!

What part of the word "unconstitutional" do you not understand? The Supreme Court has spoken, and has articulated the law. The only way around it is to amend the Constitution, which would require the approval of two-thirds of the states. It will be a cold, snowy day in August before that happens. Finally -- how can the United States possibly have a productive dialogue with people who routinely scream "Death to America?" And what kind of a traitorous American are you for even suggesting that the United States should engage in dialogue with organizations and countries that seek America's destruction? Do you have a hidden agenda? Like Hussein Obama?
12. 1-#To Sarah B sweet
sam ,   colorado   (06.28.10)
I think you're pathetic because Hizbollah does not like the dialogue and not interested in any ruling by the Court of an American,I would like to let you know that Hezbollah is not a terrorist organization and this inform you In the end you will see whom he will closed doors in his face you are sweet

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.28.10)
Well, since the United States has formally identified Hizbollah as a terrorist organization, your opinion is entirely irrelevant. Moreover, keep in mind that Hizbollah is nothing more than a toadie of the vile Islamofascist regime in Iran. Iran has worked long and hard to drive a wedge between the United States and the State of Israel -- you may rest assured that Hizbollah is mightily disappointed with the ruling of the United States Supreme Court a week ago. All that hard work by Iran and its cronies -- wiped out by six justices with the stroke of a pen. However, if you really do not believe that Hizbollah is a terrorist organization, I think you should make your views known to the United States Department of State, Homeland Security and the National Security Agency. Drop a quick note to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. If you dare. Like all terrorist supporters, you're nothing but a coward.

Sharia law courts do exist in the United States, but their activities are restricted to domestic issues, child custody, marriage and divorce. That said, their judgments are unenforceable; same as rabbinical court judgments are unenforceable. The principle is called separation of church and state, and it is very dear to Americans.

How little you understand the people of the United States. In a recent Pew poll, Israel was listed as one of the countries that Americans are willing to die for (although -- unlike certain Arab states -- Israel has never; would never require that). That same poll showed that among Americans, Palestinians are among the three most hated people. I guess Americans know considerably more about foreign policy than you do. I guess Americans have not forgotten the wild and joyous celebrations that took place in the Palestine Authority and in Gaza in the wake of September 11. If your hope is for all people of the Middle East to live safely, then shouldn't you be devoting your ire to the assorted Palestinian organizations -- some thirty of them -- each of whose charters calls for the destruction of the State of Israel and the extermination and/or expulsion of the Jewish people? Not much safety in that. Besides, Americans are not fools. Six wars, all started by the Arabs (and won by Israel) and sixty-plus years of unrelenting Palestinian terror have NOT escaped the notice of the American people.
