1. Time has come for action.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (06.29.10)
Iranian nuclearization remains an existential threat to Israel, it also remains authentically genocidal in the legal sense. It follows that Israel’s reliance upon its own nuclear strategy and nuclear deterrent will now necessarily expand. Israel shall soon have to make a long-postponed decision on preemption (anticipatory self-defense) against Iranian hard targets. If this decision should continue to be postponed, Israel will likely lose the chance to defend itself conventionally. More concerning the dangers of a nuclear Iran at : http://xrl.us/h8ydt
2. Incredibly destabilizing.
Joey Rose ,   Portland   (06.29.10)
Then why the massive build-up in the Gulf, Azerbaijan, and albeit secretly Saudi Arabia ??
3. How rare to see a smile on Admiral Mullen's face.
Rivkah   (06.29.10)
Gary Stearman on the Prophecy in the News website said last week that troops are gathering on the border of Iran in Azerbizhan, Iraq, and Afganistan for a land invasion of Iran. General McChrystal disagreed with that so he is retiring from the US Army and General Petraeus is taking over in Afganistan. The military bases that slowly encircled Iran over the decades since the Carter Administration will culminate in a war that will subdue Iran. Right after that, the notable horn (USA) of Daniel chapter 8 breaks into four parts UNLESS America does not pressure Israel to divide Jerusalem. If Israel is left alone then it is possible the Lord Yahweh will spare the USA from becoming four nations or a part of four nations (lion, leopard, bear, and 7 headed 10 horned beast). It is looking to me more and more like President Obama is the Anti-Christ, the little horn that comes out of one of those four parts the notable horn breaks into. The ELS Torah codes call him Pharoah King of Egypt which is one of the titles of the Anti-Christ. King of Babylon is another title of the Anti-Christ and with US forces in Iraq, that possibly applies to President Obama, too. I say this because I don't want him to be that because whoever that is will be eternally separated from the Lord Yahweh. How does a person in a position to be the Anti-Christ, whoever that is, avoid that awful fate? Resign like General McChrystal and repent and turn to the Lord. Let it be someone else. What profiteth it a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?

Mullen just gave his blessing and that of his Boss, Muslim turned Christian, to proceed with its program when he declared that : "incredibly destabilizing" to the region, and that he believes US ally Israel understands that." So they will have it and we will not mount a military attack against them. thank you America and thank you all the jews that made possible for such US president with only 2 years experience as a Senator to be elected!
5. Strike would be destabilizing but a nuke in Irans hands will
Jean ,   Paris   (06.29.10)
be complete and utter destruction of the world! Obama Hussein is a MUSLIM trojan horse in the White House out to help the Caliphate destroy America and Mullen is a useful idiot!
6. Well, well! From: "There can only be a diplomatic solution"
Harry Wright ,   UK   (06.29.10)
to: "Iran will continue to pursue nuclear weapons, even if sanctions against the country are increased." Now that is a big jump. Has Obama given Mullen permission to cast doubts on the success of his sanctions project? We now have 2 phrases on which to ponder: "incredibly dangerous" and "incredibly destabilizing" and lo! Both together apply to each of the two situations - Iran getting nuclear weapons and Israel attacking Iran. And as well, they are equally important to the 2 countries. So what will be the result of this long overdue convergence of thought? Before or after August, another of the Mahdi's delays? Will the Mahdi be given an extension till the end of Ramadan? And after that, he is sure to come up with yet another extension, even if he has to create another distraction, and so it goes.
7. Mike Mullen the WIMP...
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (06.29.10)
With men like Mike Mullen in charge of the US military, the Ape man can easily take a big bite from his bananas, he KNOWS, that the Muslim in chief and his little coward, Mike the slimbag will do ABSOLUTELY nothing, to try to stop his nuke program by military force... Israel must act alone and FIRST and FORCE the Obumma administration to take sides B E F O R E the midterms....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If the Muslim in chief will not come to Israels defense in the case of A N Y Iranian retaliations, he will be D E F E A T E D at the ballot box... Israel has the best of Of all options at its disposal...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! K I C K Iran and get the Muslim in chief on board...
8. Incredibly de-stabilizing?!
Jenny Bernstein ,   LA, USA   (06.29.10)
So what!!! Take your pick Israel - Wipe out or or face wipeout! Destabilizing - I ask you!!!
9. #2 If you had followed all of this back from 2005
Peter ,   Vienna-Austria   (06.29.10)
When large numbers of american, british and french vessels were present in the persian gulf, and there rumors of an attack on iran, you would realize that none of this is going to happen. Didn't happen back then when america had a cowboy in office, wont happen now. Hell, even G.W. didn't have the stomach for a war with iran. Even he didn't give the needed military equipment to israel for that matter.
10. #7 George W.Bush didn't go after iran either,so what?
Mark ,   Netherlands   (06.29.10)
What is your point here? I think you have some kind of problem with Obama and his background. Its called war!!! this is not something people would do out of fun. Many would suffer(including israelis),so perhaps Mullen and co. know a lot better when it comes to certain issues. By the way Chris,if you are so brave, why don't you get enrolled and get yourself to Afghanistan were many German troops are fighting as we speak?
11. Iran strike "destabilizing"?
Menachem ,   Israel   (06.29.10)
Allowing a madman to point his gun against your head is even more destabilizing. The Islamo-fascist nuclear threat must be crushed and defeated. There is no other way and the future of the world depends on it.
12.  What stability in the Middle East? Tyrant or Terrorist?
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & New York   (06.29.10)
The only countries that are stable in the Middle East, other than Israel, are the ones where people can not change the government - i.e. ALL of THEM. How can you destabilize things more than the radicals who push to undo peace treaties, or who attack their own governments? Stopping Iran from having the bomb will stabilize things as it will prevent terrorists from getting their hands on it.
13. @ #s 2 & 9 -
er der   (06.29.10)
Joey Rose, That's because it's about to be a 'incredibly destabilizing' time here very soon. Peter, 2005 was 5 years ago, a time when it was decided that there was 'time' for diplomatic avenues to be exhausted. 5 years on, the region (yes including Saudi A) has in fact exhausted all diplomatic avenues. It cannot just decide that Iran can have nukes. No can do. We might come out of this in a big mess - and sustain unimaginable loss - but we have no other option. The US understand this. The end result will be we still will be here. It will take a hell of a lot more then a megalomaniac monkey-man to destroy us.
14. AREN'T WE WITNESSING A SITUATION
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (06.29.10)
Where, some of the countries are actually trying to force Iran into nuclearising? with you holding someone's neck trying to force a situation where a person says that he has no intention of producing Nuclear weapons whilst you keep on hammering into him that he is lying will in the end produce a situation where Iran will have no choice but to go for bombs. Logically speaking,it is not a good situation for Iran to produce any Nuclear devices as it would not help the country. That is why they keep on insisting unlike N.Korea. I personally feel that some countries will force Iran to change its course if day in and day out,the same message is circulated contrary to the fact.
15. #10, W. was also a wimp...
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (06.29.10)
He had a big mouth before the Knesset, but he did N O T H I N G...
16. IDIOT !!!.
Arn. ,   SWEDEN.   (06.29.10)
THE ONLY STABILAZING FACTOR IN THE MIDDLE EAST TO THIS WERY DAY, IS AND WAS THE MILITARY STRENGHT OF ISRAEL, CONTROLLING THE MIDDLE EAST AS A SPIDER ITS WEB. THE CATCH IN THIS WEB, HAS IN FORMER TIMES, TRYED TO COME FOR THE SPIDER, BUT FAILED ALL ATEMTS. TO SIT WAITING FOR THIS CATCH OF TODAY, TO COME FOR THE SPIDER, WILL ALL TIME BY EVERY HOUR, INCREASE THE UNSTABILISATION OF THIS REGION. THIS UNACTION, YOUR WHITE HOUSE IDIOTIC FOOLISH MASTER OF YOURS, HAS SEEN TO, AND ARE CONTINUING CONDUCTING. BECAUSE OF THIS, YOU WILL LOOSE ALL INFLUENCE IN THIS WERY REGION. YOU CAN NOT BEE TRUSTED ANYMORE. BY IDIOT !!!. Arn.
17. well..
la vache qui ri ,   ici   (06.29.10)
Everybody in Israel knows there is going to be a war, probably at the end of august. So be it. We are not scared, if noone stands up to iran then we have to take care of it ourselves. The IDF started to distribute gassmasks....the last time they did that was in 2003 when the US invaded irak...
18. Talking in circles.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (06.29.10)
What could possibly be more de-stabilizing than a nuclear Iran? Does Mullen think that a possible nuclear war isn't de-stabilizing? All he's doing is promoting the Obama policy of appeasement, the incredibly stupid idea that somehow ''containment'' can work. And, even more disturbing, it looks like our gov't. has bought into this appeasement policy. The world, including our gov't., is paralyzed into inaction - in other words, they have taken the most irresponsible position possible.
19. Mike Mullen
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (06.29.10)
He keeps telling us what can't be done and why it can't be done - but he does not tell us what should be done. Looks like an excuse for doing nothing. What a loser.
20. welcome the new 'Attila'! welcome #16
illegible reading   (06.29.10)
By IDIOT!!!. ie: Arn (love that period at the wery end LOL!!!)
21. #14 - yes but then why did they have plans & traces already?
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & New York   (06.29.10)
Mahmood, Under normal circumstances you would be correct. But explain why the IAEA have found blue prints for making weapons, and trace amounts of weapon grade material 5 years ago? Then again there is also all the enhanced centrifuges that Iran needs at 1000x the amount needed for their declared intent? What about the multiple military grade attack proof centers - which they failed to mention to the IAEA when they started construction as required by law? Seems that Iran is protesting too much to have been innocent all this time.
22. #9 All your theories go out the window..
Joey Rose ,   Portland   (06.29.10)
when US is struck with nuclear terrorism, whom all but the most naive believe will happen. Iran would be just too tempting a target to pass up although we see they have lost the nerve to even send one of their ships to Gaza.
23. Carefull, You might join McChrystal.
Roland Seener ,   London England   (06.29.10)
24. #1 disagree
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (06.29.10)
As long as Israel holds Judea and Samaria an Iranian nuke attack will kill some Tel Avivians (about 40000) but is not an existential threat, while Israeli counter attack on Iran will critically damage Iran and allow an Arab/American invasion. If Israel attacks Iran first, the Iranian/Hezbolla/Hamas/Fatah counter attack coupled with an international embargo (look what happened when Israel killed 8 Turkish Jihadists) will be the end of Israel. Israel should sit this one out and let Obama and his Saudi masters solve the problem. In any case, they will be the first to go.
25. :: No Green Light
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (06.29.10)
Israel would never dare attack Iran without the blessing and support of the US. Obama is not going to start a war with Iran just to sate Israeli paranoia. That means that Iran will continue on with its peaceful civilian nuclear programme. I guess the only viable option is for Israel to make peace with the Palestinians, accept the Arab Peace Initiative of 2002 and then extend the hand of friendship to Iran.

27. Its not the White House in range of Iranian nukes
zionist forever   (06.29.10)
We have been playing the offer and counter offer backed by sanctions since the begining of George Bushes second term and what exactly has it achieved? Iran has been defiant and every new round of sanctions makes Iran more defiant. They are using the time to enrich uranium bringing more and more centrefuges online and Russia aims to bring the first power station online this year. Iran has had time to improve their air defenses and increase the range & accuracy of their missiles. We though have Washington telling us Iran is trying to develop a nuke we all accept that but we won't let you do anything about it. If they get that nuke well its unfortunate but hey it was better than destabilzing the region by trying to stop Iran getting the things. This isn't about regional stability its about Obama and his desire to be champion of the islamic world. Whatever the reason if he lets Israel hit Iran that image is damaged and it sends the message the US is still on Israels side, As Mullen has turned up to a diplomatic event in battle dress rather than dress uniform maybe he wants to help us organize a military strike against Iran.
28. CIRCUMSTANCES HAVE CHANGED......#21
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (06.29.10)
That,Iran, under different leadership has had diversified interest to protect itself.Whilst, there is a strong possibility of Iran having conducted few tests in the past to ascertain its own capabilities,I feel certain that they want to reach a stage where the OPTION can be excercised, should it become neccessary. If we look at the entire situation only blaming Iran all the time,we may get away in the talk-back coloumn, but logical course of action for Iran is NOT to go for the weapons UNLESS it is an absolute neccessity. That is what my point is.Are we forcing Iran into that situation?
