one way to set an example and for Germany to show they mean business. I was with some Israelis at a pub in London last year, we got drunk, they thought it would be funny to do nazi salutes and assume they get away with them because they were jews.the pub kicked them out. threatening to call police, they were heckled by some people in there as they left. they didnt get their 'joke'. i finished my drink in shame and caught up with them..

I too find it difficult to understand sometimes. But it appears to be an Israeli charicteristic - to take their pain and 'laugh' at it. From the outside it looks abit wierd , but it is just a way of dealing with pain.

Germany means business? Sure. Our government fights against the NSDAP which does not exist since 1945, but they do nothing against the radical Muslim organizations that pop up like mushrooms after a warm summer rain.

Hi Sarah, this is really not funny - the incident in itself is not funny and well done to the German authorities to never tolerate that kind of behaviour. In terms of your 'no wonder they lost the war' ... in all honesty, they didn't really loose the war because they are a bunch of numpties (in actual fact I am not even sure how to link that statement of yours to the actual news item) .. the Germans were really quite amazing during the war (nobody puts words in my mouth here! .. I am NOT saying woohoo I love them lot, they should have finished the job and all that because that is NOT at all how I feel) .. when you think about what they did on the military front was quite incredible, defeat a multitude of armies, stretch out to multiple territories, introduce new weapons e.g. V1, V2 but also automatic weapons, etc) and tactics (e.g. blitzkrieg) still used today by modern armies (US, Russia, Europeans and of course IDF) .. and held out for 5 years against huge back fighting from the rest of us. Always I have to think at the situation at the end of the war for the Germans where they ended up arming and sending to the front 14-year old boys and 60+ year old men to fight the rest of us - it is just so sad .. sad also for our soldiers who had to kill those kids and old people. Again, please do not assume from that statement that I support any kind of extremism, anti-semitism etc because I am not ... what happened was terrible, its great we won of course and that mad dictator had to be eliminated - its a shame we couldnt do it ourselves since the coward topped himself. Again, my grand-parents fought in the war, one of my grand dads was part of the underground resistance movement in his country and he personally hid Jews in his basement during the war and I am very proud of him for doing that.

I can think of a number of places where an Ariel Sharon ring tone would get you a jail sentence and they're not all Arab.
