Actually you couldn't as you would be commiting a crime just for the hell of it. These demonstrators commited a crime to prevent Israel from committing crimes in Gaza, and used The Goldstone Report to supprort their defence which was accepted by the Judge. Prosor is all annoyed because this is a precedent set within English law which accepts war crimes were committed in Gaza, and Prosor realises the difficulties this will give to Israelis involved in Cast Lead trying to visit the United Kingdom. As for the UK committing war crimes in Afghanistan, under International Jurisdiction you have the right to press charges in the courts. As we have the right to call Israel to account.

The British are stealing Argentine oil off the Malvinas. Israel should join the forces of good and supply the Argentines with weapons to help them defend against the British theft and aggression.

The case of Anna Chapman. Anna Chapman married a British citizen, in Brighton of all places actually, which would have legally entitled her to a British Passports. You can question her motives for getting married, but she hasn't actually done anything illegal under British law to obtain the passport. Compare that with the cloning of British passports of dual Israeli/British nationals for the purposes of murder in Dubai and you will spot a subtle difference. One is illegal under british law, and one isn't. want to try again?
35. Israeli interference in British affairs again
Robert ,   Brisbane, Australia   (07.02.10)
Most of the responses here demonstrate the utter stupidity of the posters. Additionally, the Israeli ambassador in the UK should keep his nose out of UK affairs. Unlike Israel, Britain is a true democracy and also unlike Israel's judiciary, the British system looks at both sides of a coin before reaching a conclusion. One only has to count the deaths in Sderot caused by Hamas squibs and compare them with those caused across the region by the Israeli military machine. Crying "anti semitism" is a slogan long past its use by date.
36. People break into an arms factory and are not shot by gaurds
Truth Hertz ,   UK   (07.02.10)
That is how pro-criminal the UK is!
37. To 31 Sarcasm aside
The Dude   (07.02.10)
If you couldn't read the sarcasm in my statement, the point is that by the logic of the (dis)Honorable Judge, the argument is that I am allowed to commit a crime if it stops a greater one. Hence the defendants of this court case argued that by damaging the arms factory they were stopping crimes in Gaza. You have not in any shape or form shown how if someone else were to go and burn down the Judges house (initial crime) to 'encourage' the court system to actually go out and persecute British soldiers, which it has currently not done so under it's own volition (i.e. the greater crime). So hence an arson to help to stop the greater crime of not acting against British war criminals... The point of this statement is to show how this slippery slope argument is ridiculous. The fact is that this is the same argument that many terror groups used and justified when they bombed trains in Spain or the Tube in England. They committed a criminal offense to force those peoples respective governments to stop their greater war crimes in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq by forcing the governments to pullout out of those countries. This is a classic example of logical fallacy and the slippery slope arguments used against homosexual marriage. So what exactly will be the statue of limitations in regard to this judgment? Will I be allowed now to kill any person whose termination could assist in stopping a war? Now onto your other points. Prosor is definitely justifiably annoyed in this regard because the Judge has accepted a scandalously biased report written with the verdict decided even before evidence was collected and then accepted as fact. But in practicality it's already difficult for Israelis involved in any part of the higher echelon of government or military to visit the United Kingdom (even though I think the vast majority only visit England, to be honest...). This is simply a continuation of what has already infected the UK. I must also say it's very disingenuous to say Israel has the same right to press charges. The fact of the matter, with the kangaroo courts regularly setup by the UN creating these accusatory reports, it fairly easy for Leftists Yob to get involved in the anti-Israel game. However, if I wanted to press charges against the UK or Germany for war crimes in Afghanistan, there are no inflammatory or deeply biased reports for me to use as my main evidence against the country in question. I would have to somehow force an inquiry which would be quashed by the respective governments or general EU behemoth, making a court case impossible for most average Israel supporters to pursue. It would require immensely wealthy individuals to able to pursue this policy. So yes, technically I could call for it, but I doubt this judge would fair in even calling the inquiry.
38. To 35 an Ode to hypocrisy!
The Dude   (07.02.10)
You are trying to say that the UK is not interfering directly with Israeli internal matters? Like the way that they refuse to deal with Lieberman but willingly communicate with Livni who is not part of the ruling coalition. The entire purpose of these acts is to try to force a re-composition of the coalition. This is DIRECT interference in internal matters. Here is another example, the fact that the EU (and especially the UK) funnels massive amounts of money to very specific NGOs and advocacy organizations that make political adverts during elections to sway the Israeli electorate. THIS IS ABSOLUTE AUDACIOUS INTERFERENCE! This is in comparison an Israeli ambassador calling into question a Judge who has decided that Israel has committed "war crimes" in Gaza based on a biased and faulty report which could influence the ability of Israeli government officials to visit the country. Yes this is absolutely penetrating and trying to override the the UK judicial system. The logic is flawless@! And Israel not a democracy? Really lets look at the fact that the proportion of the population that voted for a party has no bearing on who is elected. Literally Labour only won 29% of the vote but got 258 seats, while the Lib Dems got 23% of the vote but only got 57 seats! This is insane that by laying out constituencies in a certain way, Labour was able to keep an immense number of seats not even remotely deserved. For all the problems in the Israeli electorate, at least it can be said that no vote is ever truly wasted in the PR system. Counting deaths is all what matters? So Robert let me ask you a question: If I shoot a gun into a crowd of people with the full intention of killing masses but fail and miss every shot, should I still go to jail? The problem isn't that we crying anti-semitism. It's that anti-semites are trying to redefine the limits!

Charles ,   Kalamazoo USA   (07.02.10)
Excellent! Ths very arguement is and has been used by opponents of legalizedabortion to justify 'direct action' against "abortion chambers" and "abortionists.: "Our actions are preventing a worse crime." I cant wait to see the left hoisted on their own petard.
40. Pretty lame defense
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (07.02.10)
Considering that the UK has exported no weapons to us in decades. Who the hell wants anything made in the UK - they are supplying the terrorists around the world with their garbage. We should immediately ban the export of our weapons to the UK.
41. It seems to me...
Avishai ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (07.02.10)
It seems to me that this "judge" is a big fan of anarchy.
42. Well well Robert # 35....
Ram ,   London   (07.02.10)
"the voice of reason". Welcome to this "stupid posters" paradise! As it happens, the ambassador's interference in this case bears great importance in exposing the prejudice of the judge and the likes of you. If applied to practically any situation, the lopsided reasoning by this judge in this case will absolve practically any criminal from culpability no matter what the crime, bearing in mind those arms might never have been used; especially if the arabs stopped attacking Israel. I can just imagine a bunch of hoodlums burning a showroom full of cars and when facing this same judge be excused for the reason that some day these cars might kill pedestrians. Apply this reasoning to countless similar situations and you will find out why both you and the judge are anti-semites. Shame on you for suggesting 8 years of unprovoked thousands of "squibs" raining on sderot should just be ignored. You need to clean up your soul!
43. #35 One need only compare, you say.
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (07.02.10)
Very well, let's make the comparison, shall we? In Israel, military and civilian are separate - soldiers don't operate in, among, and under the civilian infrastructure and populace. In Israel, there is a legal requirement for bomb shelters in neighborhoods, armored rooms in every house, and there are early warning systems for missile and rocket attacks. In Gaza, Hamas' central command during Operation Cast Lead was under Gaza City's largest hospital. In Lebanon, Hezbollah's largest command bunkers were under the Shi'a neighborhood of Beirut. Neither organization operates with a uniform. Neither organization operates separately of the civilian populace - and quite the contrary, organizes its attacks from within the civilian populace. Neither Gaza nor Lebanon as bunkers for civilians, only for munitions. And in Israel, the military attacks military targets, trying in vain to compensate for the fact that *all* of them are mixed in with the civilian populace and infrastructure. In Lebanon and Gaza, the exact opposite is true - whole towns and cities are targets for Hamas and Hezbollah.

I presume you are booked on the next available flight away from the UK then? Thought not? If this factory had explosives present there would be a gaurd of armed police as private security guards are not permitted in the UK, as you will know. The fact there wasn't means there isn't so you are making a mountain out of a molehill. Want to try again?
45. #39 Charles
(07.02.10)
That would be a terrorist attack as abortion is legal in the United Kingdom, so no greater crime is committed. Abortion is also not illegal under International Law. So blowing up an abortion clinic would itself be seen as a war crime as attacking healthcare centres is illegal under The Geneva Convention. Where as the protestors who attacked EDO MBM have successfully demonstrated in a court of Law that Israel was commiting warcrimes in Gaza during Operation Cast Lead and that EDO MBM was providing the means to enable Israel to do so. Which is why Prosor is waving his arms around hysterically, essentially Israel has been found guilty in a British Court of law of committing war crimes. Evidence which can be used when Livni et al turn up at The Hague.
46. #40 Gee

and in return we will ensure that the engines for the STOL version of the F35 are not exported to Israel. Is that OK for you?
47. #43 Roman
(07.02.10)
So if the UN said they would build the bunkers. Will you guarantee that Israel allow the entry into Gaza of concrete to build the said bunkers for civilian use? Thought not.
48. A perverted judge.
(07.02.10)
Instead of upholding justice, meting punishment against the guilty, this warped-logic-minded judge can swallow such stupid arguments. By his warped-logic, it would be fully legitimate to wipe out all muslims in Iraq, in order to prevent more serious crimes such as suicide bombings. Bloody fool.
49. Britain: Most criminal government on Earth.

A government that occupies territories thousands of miles away from Britain and has the gall to lecture Jews for occupying Judea.
50. " a blatant anti-semitic stand" say what?

is it now everything anti israel "anti-semitic" how low have you sunk
51. No more property rights in UK
Alon ,   Canada   (07.02.10)
I guess that means that British property rights are no longer guaranteed by law. Britons, feel free to rob your banks. Their money may be used in oppression of the 3rd World.
52. I think it is time for Israel
(07.02.10)
to break all ties with the United Kingdom. It is obvious that Israel no longer things that the United Kingdom is no longer a fair and equitable partner. It is time for us to sever all ties. In a relationship which lets face it has been strained since Israel's inception, and with this attack on the UK's legal system by prosor prehaps that this should be seen as the final straw. Personally I believe it would be for the best as it is obvious the Israeli Ambassador has lost all respect for the UK, and the public of the UK towards Israel. This is just wasting money.

What do you expect from the offspring of leftists, who in the thirties, declared : we take a vow,not to fight for king and country,Hitler Germany took notice, with the result of 50 million deaths, and if not the USA, the certain deafeat of England, where is Winston Churchill and Margaret Thatcher of today ?.
55. #54 JK
Arthur Silverman ,   Washington DC   (07.02.10)
The UK lost another soldier in Afghanistan yesterday, a Royal Marine in a war where Israel is distinct by it's absence. As for Winston Churchill he died in the 1950's and Margaret Thatcher has Alzheimers Disease I am sure they would be fantastic in looking after the best interests of Israel. A country whose current Prime Minister stated live on national TV in the United States that 9/11 was a good thing for Israel. I am actually starting to wonder whether we need to worry about the KGB operating amongst us, or whether we should start looking at a fifth column which is 12 million strong, and having led us into two wars is trying desperately to make us fight a third on their behalf in their absence..
56. # 50 Joy
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (07.02.10)
Joy ! This Judge and jury are either antisemitic or stupid, not being able to distinguish between right and wrong ,a democratically elected governement in gaza has fired more than ten thousand rackets on Israel, terrorizing the population,Israel has every right to fight this cruel enemy ,by all means,Israel is out of Gaza, how do you justify the Gaza palestinians attack on Israel ?.
57. Free the Malvinas from the British occupation!

58. Fabulous news
Tom ,   Bristol, UK   (07.02.10)
Fabulous news for the brave people who took a stand against the wholesale slaughter of Palestinian civilians. Shame on the commenter who compared the bombardment of Gaza with the allies assault on Nazi German cities at the end of WWII. How could you even be bothered to type nonsense like that? As it happens, I think the firebombing of Dresden, for example, was a war crime, and the British generals should have faced justice for that. Does that make me Anti-Anglosaxonic?
59. #44 making a lot of assumptions, I suspect.
Truth Hertz ,   UK(ex Great Britain)   (07.02.10)
So you assume that I can go and take refuge in another country? But you are right, we all have passports so that we can leave quickly if it comes to it and frankly, it is going in the wrong direction here in the UK these days so I may be booking the flights soon. Secondly, you have great faith in the british police & security services and who metioned explosives? Maybe you think it is okay if people break into arms factories and take what they like as long as there are no explosives there. Also, my concerns are not just about arms factories. I see that yet another teenager has been stabbed outside his school in London. Want to try again. Sure but you didn't say where you are. Tehran?
