1. The Jewish people, strong and united will not fear its...
Ron B. ,   Lod   (07.02.10)
The Jewish people, strong and united will not fear its enemies. Carrying out the demoralizing ejection of patriotic Jews from Gaza was implemented by training the IDF to see the "settlers" as the enemy and the families of Arab terrorists as more worthy of protection than Jews. This made for a psychically weakened IDF when it was called on to fight in Lebanon. Our total faith in our legitimate rights on the Land of Israel will restore even more the spirit of the I.D.F and its deterrence. The Jewish people, strong and united, will then face its enemy and vainquish. As to our legitimate rights on our land at : http://xrl.us/bj5ng
2. By showing weakness, you invite attack.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (07.02.10)
When you listen to the threats and taunts of those who hate you, you give them power over yourself. If you try to accommodate your behavior to gain their favor, their outpouring of hate for you will only grow. For it is not your behavior they hate, it is you. By showing weakness, you invite attack. By giving your enemies power over you, all that you accomplish is to drive them into a feeding frenzy at your vulnerability. If you go on this way, you will either be a slave or a corpse. 3. idealist
(07.02.10)
Mansour is a good man that doesnt understand Israel. The extreme-Left has failed inside Israel so they are "airing the dirty laundry" to weaken Israel and impose their fanatic beliefs on everyone/ Additionally, foreign governments are spending lots of money to pay Israeli collaborators, just look up the New Israel Fund.
4. Israel and Reda Mansour's hypocrisy
Kim ,   Australia   (07.02.10)
Are the hypocrisy! Israel, which proclaims itself as state for ALL Jews worldwide and which repeatedly claims to speak for ALL Jews in the world then has the hypocrisy to tell those Jews not living in Israel who voice an opposition to Israeli government policy that they in fact "foreigners" that ought to shut up. When Israel stops claiming to speak for all Jews in the world, then maybe it might have a right to say that Jews living in other countries are then have no right to comment on or voice opposition to Israeli government policy. Make up your mind Israel, you can't have your cake and eat it too.
5. WELL SAID!!!
iObserver and News ,   US   (07.02.10)
I was in the middle of producing a video about this same topic!! Fanatacism and selfish motives have run amok as everyone reaches for the most "attention" rather than attempting to progress and forge a powerful form of unity that is required for a nations survival. Well written and completely overlooked: the truth is: I'm the US, even gentile supporters are looking on Israel as a broken, divided nation that is more sad than anything. Indeed it has become difficult to support Israel on ANYTHING due to it's kooky internal rifts. Right now, Israel is looking just like it did in it's first and second collapses millenia ago: like selfish children fighting and being cruel in the name of getting their way. If it wasn't so sad...it would be laughable.
6. Then why aren't you bothered by FOREIGN GOVERNMENTS
Marcella   (07.02.10)
DISCUSSING ISRAEL and deciding what to do with your land and your homes, and whether you have the right to defend yourselves? Aren't you appalled by the fact that every day there's one more foreign government meddling in Israeli affairs and TELLING ISRAEL WHAT TO DO? Aren't you bothered by the fact that the fate of the country is being decided in a foreign country? In the USA White House, to be more precise? You tell Jews not to discuss Israeli issues abroad. But will you tell those heads of foreign governments to stop meddling in Israeli issues that are none of their business?
7. Please don't tell Jews to quiet down
Marcella   (07.02.10)
Nothing wrong with Jews speaking out any time, anywhere. This is a critical time for Israel. There needs to be a powerful campaign to counteract the lies spread by your enemies, and to expose the wishy-washy attitude of the Israeli government regarding your legitimate right to the land. What use is for Israelis to quietly and politely engage in dialogue at home when the fate of the country is being decided by foreigners? The US, EU and even Arab governments are spending millions of dollars in order to demonize Israel and to build Arab facts on the ground. All the while the Israeli government is working on a partition plan devised and micromanaged by the USA. What Israel needs is LESS DEBATE AND MORE ACTION. Israeli Jews have been debating about the territories for decades. While the government prepares to cede Golan, Judea, Samaria, Jerusalem, it would like nothing better than for the great majority of Jews to shut up. To have J-Street - financed as it is by enemies of Israel - supporting the same government plan for Two States is a little embarrassing, isn't it? And to have outspoken settlers opposing such partition must be quite annoying. So the government would much rather have Israeli Jews quietly debating the issues in some corner somewhere out of sight. Enough debating! What Israeli Jews need to do is to organize and to unite on this one issue: the integrity of the land. Annex the territories and end this agonizing path to self-destruction.
8. Debate? The left is not interested in facts.
Jake ,   USA   (07.02.10)
The left is not interested in debating. So they spread lies. There is no equivalence between the camps. One fights for the country. The other tries to shrink it and weaken it.
9. congrats reda, for this splendid career...
eporue ,   europe   (07.02.10)
you have to justify (with a straight face) every blunder your current government does, every racist statement they made, or just decently "pass on" everything they hand you out. you can never speak your opinion. however, you are well paid for this: you have sold your soul. others have not. if you struggle to explain the bullshit your government produces, dont blame the critics... lol
10. :: Excellent advice, Ambassador
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (07.02.10)
Reda Mansour is one of the citizens most dedicated to the integrity of the State of Israel. His patriotism rises to levels not known today among Jewish citizens. The Druzee community he belongs to needs to be held in the highest esteem for their service to the only Humane, Democratic and Free Country in the Middle East.
11. :: #4 It is neither my business nor yours what Israel does
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (07.02.10)
This is the entire point of the article you seem to have missed. Israel can eat the cake and have it too, it is entirely up to its citizens to decide, you and I have no say.
12. ABSOLUTELY RIGHT ON. Jews'their own worst enemy,
jae ,   lynn usa   (07.02.10)
the biiger enemy powers can point to the anti israel Jews and say look its all true.
13. Good analysis
C ,   Israel   (07.02.10)
Thank you Dr. Mansour for pointing out the insanity of the entire situation. I would point out that when Jewish and Christian communities around the world supported Israel blindly, the establishment in Israel was glad. Now that some Jews are taking an opposite stand, we start to say "don't interfere with our lives". The issues are very complex and involving foreign Jews, Arabs, Palestinians and others really is not helpful. They are only aiding the two minority extremes on both sides (Israelis and Palestinian) who want all or nothing. Please help the majority who want to find solutions.
14. #6- The U.S funds Israel, so technically they own it
lara ,   Australia   (07.03.10)
The U.S has vetoed the majority of U.N sanctions critical to Israel. It has funded Israel and it's military. The U.S has contributed billions of dollars each year to Israels growth and survival. It plays a major role in the states existance and to dispute it, is to bite the hand that feeds you. Even if Israel is just bait used for wars in oil rich countries, without the U.S. they would be a 3rd world country suffering from sanctions.
15. Bad Behavior has no "Right to Exist"
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (07.03.10)
16. Israel must not apologies.
C. Brown ,   London   (07.03.10)
Why must Israel apologies Turkey? is Turkey a master to Israel? never. Listen Israel, Turkish Prime Minister, Erdogan is humiliating Israel in front of the whole world; thus, any attempt for Israel to render apology for defending themselves will spell doom for Israel, because Arabs and muslims will be laughing at Israel; even some christians will be disappointed in Israel. Therefore, Israel must not apologies, instead, Israel should be the one to ask Turkey to apologies for trying to violate Israeli sovereignty by supporting IHH a terrorist organisation who was bent on breaking Israeli blockade against Hamas. Also, Turkey must apologies for supporting Hamas, while, fighting the PKK at home. Israel must let Turkey know about Turkish double standard. One, Turkey is fighting PKK at home as a terrorist organisation, and at the same time Turkey is supporting Hamas against Israel. It is time Israel call a spade a spade. Israel should not always talk about politics; what of pride of a nation? Doesn't Israel has a pride? No Israel must not apologies. Turkey can go to hell. Turkey needs Israel as Israel needs Turkey. Turkey needs America and Europe as both America and Europe needs Turkey; but this must not be at the expense of Israel. It was a mistake for Obama to be elected as USA President, as Obama has contributed in making Israel weak. I will not wait to see Obama voted out of office in few years time. O! God, creator of heaven and earth have mercy on the Israelites and be thier comforter amen.
17. victory
alan ,   texas   (07.03.10)
Replace appeasement and negotiation with VICTORY. Peace, security and prosperity will come much sooner.
18. Fear
Marilyn ,   USA   (07.03.10)
I've noticied that several articles lately have tried to scare Israeli's into doing something. All this stuff about danger. We are sensitive to this, because during the Bush administration, politicians got what they wanted by scaring people. Many people didn't really think, they just reacted blindly to the fear. When I talked to a few of them in person they just repeated the sayings that the government had given them. I could tell that they hadn't really given the ideas much thought. It was scary. This was in direct contrast to what Roosevelt said that there was nothing to fear but fear itself-nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance. Anyways, Israeli's are already afraid and it's not good to keep encouraging it.
19. Unity
Marilyn ,   USA   (07.03.10)
First I talked about fear, however I'd also like to talk about unity. Artificial unity gained by people not being able to speak is not unity. It is something constrained, artificial. No one would want to fight for that. People want to be real and they want something real.
20. who helps shalits?
alex   (07.03.10)
21. # 14
Birdi ,   Israel   (07.03.10)
Its time for you to wake up to reality. On April 19. 2010. Obama announced America will no longer automatically stand with & support Israel at the UN.
22. #15. Steve Benassi
(07.03.10)
So according to you, bad behavior has no "right to exist." Well, after reading several of your mind-numbing, anti-Israel talkbacks, one can only conclude that neither do racist ignoramuses such as yourself.
23. :: #15 Good to see you now criticize your Islamic Empire too
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (07.03.10)
and deservedly so. It is never too late to be on the just side of humanity.
24. :: #14 US owns Australia way more
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (07.03.10)
If not for McArthur you would be speaking Japanese today.
25. Foreign Jews need to GROW UP
David ,   Jerusalem   (07.03.10)
Look at all the talkbacks from the USA condemning Reda for voicing his opinion.... It is pathetic. In Israel, we squabble over everything and when one side doesn't get their way they come crying to their big well-meaning cousins in America to try to help them. Now, every non-Israeli Jews thinks they speak for the best interest of Israel when they actually speak for a domestic agenda of their crony Israeli lobbyist who brainwashed them. No condemnation, no support, no money, no AIPAC, no ADL, no University boycott nonsense. GO AWAY. You are making our lives a living hell and the service of our soldiers more dangerous. if you cared you would live here, you would contribute to the Jewish nation, instead, you fund extremist from your nice houses in miami. US and EU government, military, economic support is enough, thank you.
26. # 25
Birdi ,   Israel   (07.03.10)
BRAVO & Kudos to you Davud. Your post is music to my ears.
27. #21- Birdi, that does not change how much the U.S. have done
lara ,   Australia   (07.04.10)
Israel should acknowledge and appreciate how much the U.S have done for them rather than wanting more.
28. # 27
Birdi ,   Israel   (07.04.10)
Its a two way street deary. We "do" for them & they "do" for us. Are you not content to live in Australia? because every single chance you have to bash Israel & the Jews on every article here, you vent your anger. Your parents left Israel on their own accord OR they were told to leave by their leaders. You should be the happiest gal on earth to be able to now live in a free society. What exactly is it that you want? Its so unhealthy to live with revenge & hate.
29. :: Pease #27 keep ignoring what you owe the Aborigines
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (07.04.10)
This means everything. Until you leave their lands you have no right to criticize Israel.
30. Israel's left must be soundly defeated and driven from power
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.04.10)
There is no polite way of stating the truth about this matter. The agenda of the Israeli left is incompatible with Israel's security and survival. It keeps pushing to create a hostile new terror state in the heart of our sole tiny Homeland, oblivious to the fact it would sign a death sentence for Israel. Sensing the malignance of the left, Jewish Israelis are deserting it in droves. The main leftist parties face political extinction. Yet leftists continue to dominate our nation, using undemocratic means, through courts, media etc. We must end this forever. The Israeli left must be soundly defeated and driven from power.
