1. Listen to the street about Gilad Shalit
BoB Tollman ,   tel-aviv Israel   (07.05.10)
The Pm and the government have an agenda regarding what to do and what not to do, but the very people that have joined the solidarity march to Jerusalem will vote with their feet at the next election to make sure the present pm and government will not remain in power.
2. Giladmust be returned now & alive, outsiders shut up
Sarah B ,   6 months in Israel   (07.05.10)
3. thousands of citizens that support us are not wrong?
svietka from shomron   (07.05.10)
really-there were 300,000ppl protesting expulsion from gush katif-so they were wrong? there r at least as many who oppose the deal of releasing terrorists to murder again-our hearts r with the family but our brains r with security of this country
4. Walk of stupidity
Alex ,   Tel Aviv - Israel   (07.05.10)
Why the marchers are in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem and not in front of Gaza. Gilad is sealed somewhere between Ramat Gan and Tel Aviv? Why to put pressure on the government and not on the Hamas or the Red Cross or on the International Community by organizing a human blockage of Gaza demanding the release of Gilad, for example? What do we expect from our government? More releases of terrorists? A terrorist remains a terrorists. A survey shown that the last "releases" of terrorists caused the death of 27 Israeli citizens.
5. It's sad, BUT....
ME ,   USA   (07.05.10)
Hamas only demands. To release the prisoners with blood on their hands is to disrespect the victims, and allow them the opportunity to go after more vicitms. What about the victims lives???? This will only reinforce this tactic with Hamas and like. What will Israel give when another Israeli is kidnapped?? More prisnors? What will Israel give when all the prisnors are released? Hamas will not stop, 1000 prisnors is not enough for hamas, they want the murderers. It's sad for Gilad...very, but how can you blame the Government of Israel??? Hamas says they talk, and negociate..they only DEMAND, the absurd no less. Common people. It's not that easy. You want to help Gilad? Pressure OTHER governments that are suppose to be Israels friends to speak up once and for all for Gilad. LOUD and CLEAR. Otherwise, there will be many more "Gilads" in the future. Don't be shortsited.....I pray for Gilad, his family, and friends.
6. ALL PALESTINIAN PRISONERS MUST B RELEASED 4 SHALIT
HAMAS ,   GAZA   (07.05.10)

HAMAS ,   GAZA   (07.05.10)
8. Could have been better
Sharon ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (07.05.10)
Too bad all this anger is directed at the wrong place. Imagine how much more powerful this march could have been had they been marching against Hamas or to the front steps of the UN.
9. #5 Tannenbaum yes, Shalit no???
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (07.05.10)
Is that what you are saying?
10. At any price?
David ,   Modiin - Israel   (07.05.10)
If Hamas' price were that we kill dozens of Israeli citizens, iwould a deal still be acceptable "at any price"? So how is releasing unrepentant murderers to kill again, and encouraging yet more hostage-taking any different? Because we don't yet know the names and addresses of the victims?
11. #6 Please resume taking your meds
Dan ,   T   (07.05.10)
Arabs must apologize to Israel, beg forgiveness from each family, pay reparations and acknowledge that Palestinians have no claims whatsoever in Israel or the West Bank.
12. This goverment or the previous.....
Shalom ,   U.S.A.   (07.05.10)
have done nothing to find him and rescue him. Israel is in the hands of unscupulous, self centered politicians whom I can't consider human beings. Shame on Netanyahu and Barak your political careers are dead, you were elected to save your country from the destructive Left, but doing just opposite. Shame on all members of this cabinet!
13. Barak is beginning to feel the heat ...

14. A very small show of support!
redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (07.05.10)
The marchers represent 0.21% of Israel's population. Nearly every Israeli would love to see Shalit released but, "not at any cost". Michael

redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (07.05.10)
Israelis would love to see Shalit released but, "not at any cost". You would apparently like to see Israel surrender to terrorists. You are most likely from N Tel Aviv where intellectuals sit and discuss how to sell out Israel. Most Israelis (98%) don't think like you. Enjoy you cappuccino and let the rest take care of you. Michael
16. wrong address
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (07.05.10)
Without going into the merits of an exchange for Shalit, Barak is the last one to care for soldiers. For those who forgot, Barak was responsible in the Sultan Yaakoub affair, in the Tze'elim affair and sacrificed Madhat Yussuf for political gain.
17. Did anyone at the rally blame Hamas?
Seth Greenberg ,   Raanana, Israel   (07.05.10)
As much as I sympathize with the Shalit family and pray never to be in their situation, pressuring the Israeli government to negotiate will just make it more difficult to get Gilad released. Hamas understands the pressure on the government and will realize that the more pressure, the more they can demand. That makes Gilad's release even further away. My 17-year-old son made it clear to me that, G-d forbid, if he were ever captured by the enemies of Israel, he would not want to have the guilt of having murderers and potential murderers released from prison for his sake. He told me that he would hope that the government would make a decision to either leave him or try to find him and bring him home. But only if no Israelis had to die in the process. It is unfortunate that we make it a priority to blame the Israeli government and not Hamas for Gilad's plight. Maybe then we could reconcile our feelings with reality.

So please shut up.
19. Barak should leave the Labour party and
Vardina   (07.05.10)
join the likud or go home.
20. It is Barak who should change places with Gilad
Leah ,   Israel   (07.05.10)
I do agree that we can not release terrorists with blood on their hands unless they agree to go to Gaza or leave the country. Having said that I feel that Barak would be a very good exchange for Gilad. The price for running away from Lebanon, the defeat of the Second Lebanon War and Cast Lead.
21. who said all Jews are smart?
justice ,   USA   (07.05.10)
releasing 1000 terrorists with recidivism (return to terror) at over 50%? no terrorists freed- rather kidnap hamas and shoot them until gilad freed. if gilad not freed, all of hamas leadership gets toasted. pretty clear cut.
