And now Abbas, for having denied the existence of the Jewish Holocaust in his PhD dissertation and refusing to accept the existence of the Jewish people and its universally accepted right afforded to all peoples of national self-determination and independence. If the Nobel Prize has become something you simply apply for then it really has sunk to a new low. Just think if it was as worthless then as it is now Hitler & Stalin would probably be Nobel Peace Prize winners. Abbas has agreed to let Israel keep the Kotel ... how generous of him signs of a real peace maker. If a gesture alone can get you a prize why didn't Sharon get one before his stroke he not only made promises but he actually gave up Gaza If Abbas has such a big ego that he is actually requesting a Nobel Prize who not ask the other arab loving egotistical maniac Obama if he can share his prize for not being named George W Bush. It would be a chance for Obama to really show the world just how close he is to the arabs these days that he has agreed to share his prize. They both belong together anyway.

It's a good indication of how morally bankrupt things have become if Mahmoud Abbas could even be considered for a "Peace" Prize. Perhaps, the role he played in the massacre of the Israeli Olympic athletes might prove to be a stumbling block...but these days, who the hell knows?

Peres was granted a Nobel Peace Prize for doing nothing. I suggest Peres' Peace Prize be taken away and granted to Mahmood Abbas, who is trying very hard to make peace with Israel.

While you can say he is not really a pro-Israel man look at it this way: He actually helps the peace process with not make terrorist attacks and he even made a few compromises. Honestly if he was more pro democracy then he is now he would be thrown off power. This guy is as good as he can and is on his limits of compromises he is able to give. So I don’t see this as a joke, not at all. I'd rather have this man as the leader of Palestine then Hamas or Hezbollah and I think this prize can help achieve that.

What happened to all the money? Ask Abbas and his cronies to tell you all about their luxurious homes (yes, plural) in Europe and their hefty offshore bank accounts. The U.S. and the EU know this, and the tap is not flowing to the PA quite as copiously as in previous years. Nobel Peace Prize for Abbas? Sure, if the qualifications include terrorism, murder and theft. Why not? Arafat (may his name be cursed throughout eternity) got one, and those were the only qualifications he could offer. No, Abbas is treating the Nobel Peace Prize as a retirement plan.

After all, Peres was given the peace prize because of his work with the Oslo Accords in which Israel entered honestly to make peace, while Arafat was given the prize after knowingly entering the Oslo Accords in order to weaken and re-attack Israel. He already admitted to that. Abbas, who claims to be working towards peace, has never stated so in Arabic (which makes a big difference in the ME) and HAS stated he supports violence against Israel and supported the PLO stance of attacks to destroy Israel during a PLO conference in Bethlehem. If that is your idea of making peace, why is the US still fighting Bin Laden which supports the same platform against the West?

They preach hate, kill women and children . They are arab terrorists and surely deserve an award.
