31. This proves there is no reincarnation...
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.08.10)
otherwise Ben Gurion would come back in the night and rip his name off the university walls
32. Two faces: One, fascist, the other humane
Ashley ,   Jerusalem   (07.08.10)
It is precisely this type of reasoning and wild propaganda that will be the destruction of Israeli society. Don't you see that what is happening in Hebron, in Silwan, Iraq Burin, Beit Ommar- these are pogroms...that are happening now.... how can you not draw a parallel? How is your reasoning so flawed- because of fear? Because of ignorance? "The savages...send them to the Gas Chambers when it becomes convenient...." this is not 1942. There are no gas chambers here and you have probably never even met a Palestinian. I assure you, they are people just like you. Lastly, these leftists, the critical thinkers, the activists- they will be remembered as heroes..just as Goldstone will be. They are the voice of reason and humanity in a fascist society that has lost its way.
33. This sounds familiar
Ashley ,   Jerusalem   (07.08.10)
In a democracy, let's expel anyone who doesn't think like us.... this sounds strangely familiar... Fascist states tend to have similar behavior.
34. "facist" society, Ashley?
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (07.08.10)
You have no idea whatsoever what it would be like to be living in a "fascist" society, Ashley. I find your comparison of Israeli society to be repugnant, ignorant, without objectivity and lacking in knowledge of history and sociology. In short, you're probably a young man with a big mouth. Don't try to put a fast one over on Ynet Readers again.
35. Ben Gurion University
Robin Ivan ,   Bat Yam, Israel   (07.08.10)
I agree 100% with Professor Israel David about the anti-Israel movement in Ben Gurion University. It is a disgrace that these professors and students should behave in such an abominable way to a country they are even living in. What gall - they don't like Israel they should leave and go somewhere else but to bite the hand that feeds them and insult the people living here is a sin. I made aliyah from the U.S. in 2006 and there are many things I don't agree with in Israeli politics but I never would denounce my new country and give Israel's enemies cause to rejoice and double their attacks both physically and emotionally against Israel. Our very survival is at risk and these hooligans have the nerve to support the terrorists trying to destroy us. The worst sin is to use language comparing the IDF to Nazis knowing a colleage of theirs lost a son in the last war. There should be a law passed that anyone who incites anti-Israel sentiments or actions should be expelled from Israel with no exception - get rid of these traitors - such a law even exits in the U.S. I admire Professor Israel David for writing this article
36. #32: how naive and ignorant can you be?

37. Job well done
Rachel Avraham ,   Be'ersheva, Israel   (07.08.10)
Congrats to Dr. Israel David for restoring some dignity to Ben-Gurion University. As a student at BGu, I am very much proud of him. To all of those people who think that only fringe leftists exist at BGU, I wish to inform you that you are mistaken. Im Tirtzu had a demonstration against the Flotilla at BGU and there were hundreds of students protesting there. The problem with BGU is not that there are no right wingers. The problem with BGU is that to a large extent, right wingers are not in prominent positions and there are not enough right wingers in the humanities. Note, Dr. Israel David teaches in chemistry, not Middle Eastern Studies or Government and Politics.
38. I just spent a year at BGU
Bill ,   New York   (07.08.10)
Personally, I don't really like left or right wing bias, but at least they are both represented at BGU. In the weeks after the flotilla I saw a huge anti-Israel demonstration which was followed by an equally huge pro-Israel demonstration. The student body is diverse in political opinion and cultural background, and everybody has a voice at BGU. However, from what I understood at the time, only the anti-Israel rally was actually sanctioned by the University. So while I acknowledge supremely that the staff might be left-leaning, the student body in no way reflects this.
