31. Prostituting the Torah, disgracing the name of H'
PETER SM ,   Australis   (07.08.10)
How many of our 10 commandments can these so called Rabbis break to express their bigotry They and any of their followers who take note of this disgusting travesty of the Torah deserve only our contempt, certainly none of our donations
32. I'll keep all this in mind the next time some
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (07.08.10)
Jew yells antisemitism!!!! Either here or overseas.
33. No problem, Reuben and Poitcha and others!
Brad ,   USA   (07.08.10)
But if you allow us to expel out Jews as well. Can we do it? In trucks, planes, etc, whatever they can carry with themselves and ship them all to Israel? Of course, what would do that to your economy, social structure, etc - not our problem. So, plane and simple, would you agree on this? Oh, btw, we DO absorb large quantities of immigrants, in case you never opened statistics.
34. Maybe Sandra Bullock will adopt them.
(07.08.10)
35. Madonna wants to adopt Black children. Maybe she will take

in the mother as a servant like Pharoah's daughter did for Moses and his mother.
36. Turning a stranger from your house!
Vicky ,   Ashkelon Israel   (07.08.10)
Is this the modern Sodom & Gamorrah! These people have nothing and it is Torah to take care of them. And they call themselves Holy Men. Shame on you. Hashem is watching!
37. Stupid Idiot Steven # 27
shandy ,   South Tel Aviv   (07.08.10)
Why don't you take you family out for an outing in South Tel Aviv and see how pleasant it is. Nazi's? I don' t think so. We are a Jewish country if you didn't notice. I bet your parents or grandparents came to this "Jewish "country which you are now enjoying. Would you call them racists?
38. Migrants
SM ,   UK   (07.08.10)
There is a very clear distinction between racism and sensible laws which determine who has the right to settle in Israel. The one should not be confused with the other, even if, inevitably a few opponents are motivated by racist sentiments. If a distinction isn't drawn very soon then Israel will end up with an open door immigration policy which would be both unwise and destructive. Today's 100,000 refugees (or whatever the realistic estimate is) will be tomorrow 1 million. It's typical of the intellectually dishonest agenda of proponents of a 'free for all' open door policy that anyone opposed to their notion of 'inclusivness' is by implication a racist. Neither do they have a popular mandate for their position. Israel was created as a homeland for the jewish people and should remain so.
39. Warning: Aliens might take over and create a homeland in Isr
Dancing rabbi   (07.08.10)
ael, just like the Jewish refugies in Palestine took over land from Palestinians and created their artificial homeland
40. Rabbis and everyone are going the wrong way about this
Marcella   (07.08.10)
It is extremely unfortunate that so many people are being lured into infiltrating into Israel in the hope of finding jobs and a better life. Quite a few of them have been shot by Egyptian guards. The ones who make it through find themselves wondering the streets without jobs and in a general unwelcome environment. These people may be ill with incurable diseases, which adds another problem. In the absence of adequate border control, the proper way to deal with this influx is to turn them over to the UNHCR (United Nations Refugee Agency). They will - as they do in every other country with a refugee problem - set up camps and relocate them to suitable host countries. Israel is not heartless. Israel is a tiny country for the most persecuted group in history: the Jewish people. The country was set up by the international community expressly as a Home for the Jewish People. The Jewish majority in Israel is tenuous. If you add up the non-Jewish minorities, the extreme Left, and various anti-state of Israel groups, what's left is barely a majority to keep Israel a Jewish country. Instead of attacking the rental policies of a city, Rabbis and all citizens who care for Israel should be demanding: - UNHCR refugee camps for all illegal infiltrators. - Severe penalties for those who employ illegals. - Better control of Israel's borders. The Israeli Left does all it can to destroy Israel as a Jewish country. Accusing Jews of racism is plain manipulation. Don't fall for it. More than A THOUSAND illegal infiltrators A MONTH enter Israel through the Egyptian border. This has been going on FOR YEARS and neither this government nor past ones has done anything about it to stop it.
41. Why weren't the Rabbi's against illegal Jewish migration?
lara ,   Australia   (07.08.10)
These Rabbis should practice what they preach and they should not preach hypocrisy.
42. 26 K'deisha BR - read a book
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (07.08.10)
43. #32 Dorothy, you seem unable to think properly.
Keren ,   IL-BR   (07.08.10)
You are confused.
44. to the not so clever shandy #37
steven ,   tel-aviv, Israel   (07.08.10)
Say "I dont wont to live amongst criminals" thats fine but to ban a person from living somewhere due to his religion is racist I frequently visit south tel-aviv there are charming people and criminal type characters too...the same as any where in Israel, a social problem that needs to be taken of You and your type who approve of Apartheid or racist discrimnation based on the color of ones skin or the prophet he or she believes in , are the cause of most trouble
45. #42 Pachrist, you are indeed an annoying putz.
Keren ,   IL-BR   (07.08.10)
Keep writting, untill you get what you deserve and that's to have your way driven back to your rightfull roots:christianism. Do not think that putzs like yourself will keep indefinetly acting out freely their insanities. Sick people belong to hospitals or to specialized houses for mental diseases. Sanitizing is either a personal process to keep one's healthy as it is a social process. ps:your website reflets your insanity:from the content to the form.It is pure, pure disease. Get out!
46. Cheap labor
The Last Zionist ,   Eilat   (07.08.10)
The Issue is labor. Until the government and labor unions (not the histadrut) begin protecting workers, the Israeli employer will, sadly, chose cheap workers he can abuse. Raise minimum wage, give tax benefits for retaining workers and penalties for rapid turn over. Democratic, elected and run Unions are desperately needed here.
47. Arrogance
SM ,   UK   (07.08.10)
Great as ever to see comments from people who undoubtedly have no meaningful connection to israel simply using this issue to 'make the case' that Israel is a racist state (ie to palestinians), and by implication must therefore be racist to all refugees. And just because the vast majority of Israelis who actually live within the communities in question, quite rightly object to so many refugees living there illegally with neither their nor blessing nor consent. Such arrogance! You should be grateful! If Israel didn't exist you would all have to find another bogeyman to focus your hatred on.
48. illegals are criminals not victims so dont make things easy
zionist forever   (07.08.10)
Illegals don't have the money to buy and if others would refuse to rent to them then they would find themselves without homes and word would spread back home if you can get into Israel your going to have a hard time finding a place to live. Most of the illegals would try cross into Egypt or Jordan if they couldn't find a place to stay in Israel Lets stop treating illegals like they are Israeli citizens with rights. They came here illegally and should be send back to where they came from not allowed to argue why we should let them stay. They committed a crime and if it had been any other crime the public would overwhelmingly support the idea of punishing them. As they are people who came into the country illegally suddenly we should start treating them as the victims of crime if we are not letting them stay.
49. to lara 41.do you support illegal immigration to australia??
ishai ,   israel   (07.08.10)
do you? realy? don't blame us with your oun faults. mind your oun business.
50. 43 You're empty hateful religious head is why
Ima Secular   (07.08.10)
51. 2
zionist forever   (07.08.10)
I bet in the Egyptian resorts next to Eilat you don't go along the beach front at night and get lost in a maze of filipinos selling junk. Israel needs to stop treating these people like victims instead of criminals & giving them rights and if they have had a child in Israel give them citizeship as well. Time to get tough.
52. 38&46 Thinkers in the sea of ranters
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (07.08.10)
SM - Good point. The U.S. southern border and huge illegal alien population, along with its drugs and violent crime, demonstrate how intractable illegal immigration becomes if not curbed early. For Israel, it also represents assimilation and implosion of a Judaic state. Last - Also good point. We can, perhaps, go to school on America's mistakes here. You're right on the mark that the root cause is economic and the most effective remedy begins with businesses who hire them and addressing economic remedies. Unions have developed into hindrances to every remedy in the US--and would here as well. But I think you're also right that an enforced minimum wage, along with attention-getting fines for hiring illegals, would be very helpful. On the flip side, at peril of being attacked yet again (as if I couldn't weather another storm), I'd like to see these illegals afforded an opportunity, if they wish, to learn Torah and convert. Anyone in the world who wishes to learn and keep Torah can do so. Those who make that choice, IMO, should be afforded the opportunity to convert and then live here legally. I know someone who has been teaching them basic Hebrew and the impression I've gotten from discussions is that these are simple people with no fervent religious commitments of any kind, Muslim or otherwise. Their religion--and most were Christian--was simply the culture and society in which they lived. Their motivation is simply surviving, not crusading for Christianity, Islam or any other religion. They could be taught the value of Torah. It seems to me that is our greatest failure. Paqid Yirmeyahu Paqid 16, The Netzarim, Ra'anana, Israel Israeli Torah-reverer (Teimani, Baladi, Dor Daim, Orthodox Jew) Advocate for Logic as Hermeneutic Halakhic Authority Welcoming All Torah-reverers (Jews & non-Jew geirim)
53. the Oz Unit & politicized rabbis
observer   (07.08.10)
In January of this year, the Oz unit, along with the Israeli army, forcefully entered the home of the International Solidarity Movement’s (ISM) media coordinator in Ramallah. Eva Novakova, a Czech activist, was taken from her home in the night and eventually deported for overstaying her visa. The Oz [immigration] unit's entrance into Ramallah violates the Palestinian Authority's sovereignty on its territory and the Oslo Accords.
54. # 27 Stupid Idiot
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (07.08.10)
Steven ! you and Yael Dayan, how many of those illegals have you taken in into your home ?,those illegals pay $ 2500 to be smuggled into Israel, through Egypt ,why don't they stay with their Muslim brothers in Egypt ?.
55. # 14 Mike Al Harris
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (07.08.10)
Mike Al Harris ! you are all the time siding with the Muslim enemies of Israel, who are also the enemies of Belgium, that makes you a traitor to your own country.
56. HOW TO DEAL HERE (READ!!)
VITALI KNOWS REALITY ,   GERMANY   (07.08.10)
GIVE THEM FOOD! PUT THEM IN UNIFORMS! GIVE THEM GUNS! LET THEM SERVE FOR ISRAEL IN THE ARMY! LET THEM SAVE THE LAND! IF THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO SERVE THEN SEND THEM BACK !
57. hypocrites
SM ,   UK   (07.08.10)
To all the hypocrites on Ynet commenting from far away places and trying to establish a link between the 'refugee issue' and 'Israeli racism'. If an indigenous South American tribe founds it's territory being invaded by uninvited 'white settlers' you would be the first to defend the rights of the native inhabitants. There's no difference here. The real underlying issue which you're not honest enough to admit is that you see Israelis as invaders and therefore undeserving of the same rights you're so ready to recognise elsewhere.
58. #49 -
lara ,   Australia   (07.09.10)
It is a known fact, that many of the Jews in Israel migrated illegally. Now others are being punished for the same crime commited by those who are punishing them. Ishai, part of the reason my family became refugees was because of illegal Jewish migration, so it is my business.
59. These talkbacks....
Jew ,   US   (07.09.10)
Are the reason I hate leftist news sites. Never have the responses been clean or sensible or even based in fact. As for #26 Keren: Pacharist is right. Zar means stranger, Geir means resident-alien. The fact that he hails from Israel should ring a few bells that he may be right. A Geir is a stranger that has agreed to join the Jews and is in fact a proselyte, check your facts. Pacharist, Geirim, at least among my circles, are revered and considered no different than a normal Jew. But I don't live in Israel, so it may just be me. #16 You don't have any grasp on history. Hitler accused the Jews of desicrating the purity of the German race; that means those who were intermarrying. It would behoove to learn some history about the Jews. Maybe start with Leon Pinsker To all others. The rabbis couldn't care less about the Illegal aliens other than the fact that studies have shown crime has risen where they are. figure out something better to do with your time than criticizing those smarter than you. You just look like the fools you are when you do.
60. banning renting houses to foreigners
jayampathi de silva ,   seeduwa   (07.19.10)
i ask these rabbis to turn into Hebrew Bible or Torah. " thou shall not pervert the judgment of the stranger, nor of the fatherless: nor take the widow ' s raiment to pledge. BUT THOU SHALL REMEMBER THAT THOU WAST BONDMAN IN EGYPT, AND THE LORD THY GOD REDEEMED THEE THENCE: THEREFORE I COMMAND THEE TO DO THIS THINGS..... there are several biblical verses ordering Israeli st to not to harm foreigners living among them. i think these rabbis must first read and obey God 's word, Torah.
