Michael ,   Haifa   (07.11.10)
Each time that I think that settler sewage has plumbed the depths, I am continuously made aware that there is no bottom to the cesspit.
2. Why are they sending Druze soldiers
David ,   USA /ISRAEL /EGYPT   (07.11.10)
Is it because they know that Jewish soldiers would rather leave the army than evict Jewish heroes
3. Settler thugs a cancer on the body of Israel
Avi ,   Israel   (07.11.10)
More concerend with real estate than peace. They hate secular people yet at the same time expect us to protect them. Let them go settle holon, or let me guess the price of a private villa is to much for them?
4. To Michael # 1
Ricardo Macher ,   Karnei Shomron IL   (07.11.10)
Dear Michael, do you hate anything else than settlers? Is it a special obsession? BTW, do you ask yourself why the army chooses non Jewish troops (not only Druze) to do this jobs? Any hint?
5. To SOME of my "Druze" brothers:
Salma ,   Palestine   (07.11.10)
If you don't respect yourself how can you expect others to respect you ?!!
6. Why do not you SHOOT settlers who harras soldiers!
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (07.11.10)
Just like IDF did in Marmara ship to nake handed peace activist who harrased them.
7. Respect and self respect
NorthLight ,   North   (07.11.10)
Salma, you don't know what you are talking about. My son has the honor of serving with Druze soldiers, and nobody has more self respect than the Druze. And they know to show respect - to those who deserve it. You put Israel and Druze in "" "" - why not "Palestine"? There was never such a country.

just want to comment ,   israel/usa   (07.11.10)
Actually, the Israeli army doesn't consider settlers "heroes." They actually consider them a burden and a waste of army resources. The army has a duty to protect all Israeli citizens, including settlers. However, these soldiers put their lives on the line, as they constantly need to guard these settlers in their villages where they see Arab villages only meters away who can attack at any moment. And the Druze soldiers believe in the country in which they live in they are faithful to Israel.
9. settlers are bad news
just want to comment ,   israel/usa   (07.11.10)
i feel the extremely religious jews of israel give our country a bad name. they attack IDF soldiers, they riot on the streets and throw stones, etc....what about 'shalom alichem' isnt peace the objective of our religion?
10. I agree with Avi #3
Ryan ,   Netanya   (07.11.10)
I couldnt agree more with Avi, These people add very little to the value of Israeli society. They are extremely idealistic on the jewish end and they are part of the problem why it will be so difficult to have peace here. Why are they so determined to live in those areas where they know it will cause nothing but problems. Hardly any one wants them there. They offer very little protection for Israel, it seems to me that they are the first ones to get attacked and need to be saved or rescued. Its like living next to a bee hive in your front yard so that the bees wont go in your house. The Israeli army doesnt need their help in protecting the country. The thing that bothers me the most about these settlers is that they are so strong about their ideology, that they care very little for the actual country they live in. Its like they are living out there dreams by staking a place in that land, yet the reality of embracing Israel is far from their agenda. Most have never left their area. I have spoken to many of them in the past not a single one of them knew what Azrieli Center was, nor did they know how to spell it. I mean could you care less about the rest of the country if you don't know what that is. It seems like they took a left coming out of Ben Gurion and never turned back. I wish they would go back from where they came from. Or even better to have them and Hamas fight it out on an island seeing that those are the two groups that really just want to kill each other.
11. Are you referring to the Settlers in Tel Aviv?
Jack ,   London   (07.11.10)
12. To # 5 Salma
Lioness ,   Israel   (07.11.10)
My son also had a Druze officer over him who happened to be one of the nicest officers he had. We met him and he was extremely respectful. The problem is here that this freeze should NOT be happening as Jews have the eternal rights to live anywhere in the Land of Israel. As for you Salma you can leave anytime you wish for the Palestinian State of Jordan which occupies 76% of Mandate Land with a Palestinian majority of 77% of the People. How greedy can you get? Jordan IS Palestine
13. Response to Tayfun #6
Ryan ,   Netanya   (07.11.10)
Tayfun, With all do respect but if those guys on the Marmara were peace activists, than I am an elephant that learned how to type. In all seriousness, if that is what a Turkish peace activist looks like, I would hate to see what a violent turk looks like.
14. Druze are good people
Ryan ,   Netanya   (07.11.10)
Druze are good people. They are peaceful, work hard, and want nothing to do with trouble. I have had the pleasure of meeting a few Druze in my time in Israel and they have wanted nothing more than to work hard and love their families.
15. #7 Just to clarify
Salma ,   Palestine   (07.11.10)
i put Druze into quotes, because these names come with the Zionist colonization, which has divided the Palestinians to Muslims ,Christians, Druze, Bedouin, Circassians, etc. Personally, detest these classifications
16. to #3 wow your level of hatred reach new hights
ghostq   (07.11.10)
17. Independent "Palestine" Never Existed...
gabrielle ,   USA   (07.11.10)
Therefore, to borrow your phrasing, I detest your classification. The entire region, from Syria to Lebanon to Israel was under colonial control since the Jewish temple was destroyed. There was never an independent "Palestinian" nation. The term became popular after 1967 and refers to a Roman people who colonized the Jews are one point but were eventually driven out of the region. Arabs are not Romans, sorry. I use quotes around the term "Palestinian" and "Palestine" because these names/terms come from the Arab myth machine. Also, I have not met ONE Druze who call themselves "Palestinian." Assyrians, Bedouin, Mizrahi Jews, etc, also do not call themselves "Palestinian." I detest your lies. As for the Druze issue, they are wonderful people. But these Jews would be just as angry (and with reason) with anyone who drive them out of their homes. Can you imagine if Jewish settlers went to some Arab village in Israel and told people to leave their homes? See Gush Katif, which is now part of Hamastan, to see the settlers resisting against Jewish settlers. The anger would be there either way.
18. Druze border police act like thugs
Ilan ,   Ariel   (07.11.10)
They send the Druze because they are savagely effect at using force against children and women. Do they expect their victims to kiss them after being brutalized?
19. to #15 salma we got use to the fact that
ghostq   (07.11.10)
you post something and than contradict yourself, and circacians r muslim from Russia, they r not lokals. so before you post anything do background research. and the Muslims attacked the druz and disonnered the Druze prophet, since really long time ago. that is reality go check it.
20. Just doing what they're told to do
Chaya ,   Bat Yam   (07.11.10)
The soldiers are just doing what they're told to do; but maybe they shouldn't be sending Druze soldiers to do this. It is shameful that they are treated this way! But I know that the majority of residents of Judea and Samaria are not like this!
21. Ugly behavior - no excuse
Logic ,   Israel   (07.11.10)
Anyone who brings up the Holocaust in vain cheapens its memory. Anyway, insulting an officer is not free speech, even in America.
22. Druse began the first Intafada
DAVID AARONS ,   Jerusalem   (07.11.10)
While it is true many have sacrificed their lives and limbs for Israel it cannot be denied that the most violent demonstrations against Israel Law enforcement for many years attacking and burning police vehicles any time they feel that some one dares to prevent them from building illegally which they do all over the Carmel Nature reserve Bet Jann forest and the Golan anywhere they even attacked the Society for the Protection of Nature officials in Beit Jan Many say they set off the very first intifada only a few days before the Arabs did when the Arabs saw how weakly Israeli reacted to the riots in Beth Jann in 84 where they beat police with iron chains and burned their vehicles what is the Israeli public expected to feel ?????????????
23. To just want to comment
David ,   USA /ISRAEL /EGYPT   (07.11.10)
Thank you for your insight. You don't need to tell me about Israel, I grew up in Israel and served in the army. The settlers may not be your heroes, but they are mine. Just like the US, Israel was built by settlers and not by Tel Avivians. How fast they forget. Shame on the new generation of seculars, for their hate, They should fight the enemy and not their own people
24. #23 - My American History teacher back in Yonkers....
dorothy friend ,   tel aviv   (07.11.10)
...was a Cherokee!!! He had some choice words for the "settlers" and their Manifest Destiny.
25. to #23 David
just want to comment ,   usa/israel   (07.11.10)
these are your own words at the end of your last comment ""Shame on the new generation of seculars, for their hate, They should fight the enemy and not their own people "" David, so how do you explain the settlers attacking Druze soldiers who identify as Israelis, their own people?
26. Number 14 you are a good person all the respect you Thank yo
