1. If Israel had followed Rabbi Meir Kahane it would not have
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (07.14.10)
problems it has today. A strong leader builds the country, weak leaders like Kadima give it away to the enemy.
2. Interesting to hear the tapes
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (07.14.10)
The question here is did the shin beit actually persuade him to kill Arabs? If so, what will the court system do with this? Sounds like the case against Yigal Amir. No???
3. These religious lunatics must be taken
Eric..... ,   Israel....   (07.14.10)

4. "Shin Bet operative asked him to murder Sheikh Raed Salah, "
Doug ,   Rochester, USA   (07.14.10)
I assume this is not really true. But if it is true, this would tell the world how Israeli's treat their peaceful protesters - hire a killer to eliminate the problem.
5. right wing bias
alan ,   texas   (07.14.10)
If he were a left winger, would the government have been so diligent?
6. If he is 30 today, in the mid 90's he was a teenager of 15!
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (07.14.10)
How could he have pulled off stabbing and killing several Arabs? The whole affair does sound like a frame up. BLOODYTHIRSTY SCOT DALLAS, TEXAS
7. same "suspicion" as when the Kahane kids were arrested?
rebecca ,   Modiin   (07.14.10)
And eventually, after a week, release because of lack of evidence? I think vindictive.
8.  A JEWISH TERRORIST???
Moses ,   South Africa   (07.14.10)
In fact I've always thought it was only the Arabs who were terrorists, whilst the Isrealis are saints - the chosen people. No I think there is mix up somewhere, the Isrealis are the chosen people, or I dey lie.
9. #3 u r wrong on 2 points:
history major ,   Chicago, USA   (07.14.10)
First of all, there is no indication that he is a religious zealot. Rather, he is a radical Zionist. Secondly, Israel is the wild west. Where else do you have fist fights erupt in the country's senate? An MK's citizenship revoked by other MK's? Israel often has to move fast to protect itself and does not have time for the niceties found in England or even America.

Birdi ,   Israel   (07.14.10)
Very true, & good observation on your part .
11. number 6 is right
Eddie ,   london UK   (07.14.10)
As a 30 year old, if he started in 1990, it would have been a 10 year old killer no wonder they never detected him... it is just another Shin bet frame job, as Bibi is preparing to extend the freeze or give up more land.
12. My,My. What am I hearing. A jewish Terrorist??
Peter ,   Vienna-Austria   (07.14.10)
Nah!!!!. They made a mistake. Of course jews don't have such things among them??!! Who would have ever thought!!! Perhaps his grand parents were those that killed British soldiers in the late 40's!!!
13. I am yet to hear a comment from Chris rotten Moser and Sarah

14. really Jewish
observer   (07.14.10)
it starts with kippa on the head, ends with tefillin around the neck. Remember the last Jewish suiciding hero terrorist,
15. George Steinbrenner is dead.
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (07.14.10)
And all you crazy Y-nuts can do is sit around wringing your hands over a few dead Arabs in the 90s, and who's a terrorist and who is'nt. You people really need to get your priorities in order.
16. To Peter from Vienna
Greene ,   Washington, DC   (07.14.10)
Mr. Peter Enough with the cynicism, yes Jewish terrorist do exist. However their cause is not exactly supported and is actually frowned upon by the Israeli government as you can tell from this article. Where do you think Jews learned these terror tactics? maybe it was in the 1920's when Husseyni and his Palestinian followers were killing women and children and bombing the Jewish population. I am pretty sure it was then that certain Jews began believing that the only way to fight back is to reciprocate the same actions that were conducted against them and give the Palestinians a taste of their own medicine. Still even then the Jewish leadership and the big Jewish organizations and bigger political factions frowned upon these acts and wanted to distance themselves from this kind of activity. Also, I am pretty sure Jews fought with Britain in WW2 while the Palestinians (once again led by Husseyni) fought along side the Germans and even tried bringing concentration camps to Palestine. Stop trying to compare rotten apples to oranges.
17. Patience. Let's see *all* the evidence.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (07.14.10)
One of the best Israeli movies I've seen is Hahesder - "Time of Favor" in English. The most troubling scene involved the tactics used by the security services - perhaps representing the "Jewish section" of the ISA - toward Jewish terror suspects. It wasn't pretty. If Pearlman has tapes, they need to be heard. The murders reportedly took place in the late (not mid) 1990s, when Pearlman would have been an older teenager. That's not to say the accusation isn't credible. I live in DC, where killings by teens aren't unheard of. And we've certainly seen Arab teens kill. Me, I'm withholding judgment.
18. Thank you for presenting a balanced story.
Aaron ,   Tekoa, Israel   (07.14.10)
I know Perlman and his whole family personally. They are all very good people. Haim is one of the sweetest and most gentle people you will ever meet. He is a passionate Jew and and activist for Jewish settlement of the Holy Land. The Shabak is simply terrified of people like him who have Torah based views and actually want to see them implemented. They have harassed him for years trying to get him to set up his friends by provoking them to commit violent acts and he refuses to work with them. This is why they are now framing him for something that took place 12 years ago!
19. Keep it up Ynet
Mike ,   Forrest Hills, NJ   (07.14.10)
Usually I am infuriated by Ynet's extreme Left Wing bias and while I'm not familiar with this particular story, it seems quite balanced.
20. #6, etc. The Murders took place in 1998
Doug ,   Rochester, USA   (07.14.10)
Since he is now 30, he would have been about 18 years old at the time.
21. #18 - He is Sweet and Gentle?????
Doug ,   Rochester, USA   (07.14.10)
He belongs to a terrorist organization that advocates forced removal of the Arab population. He has been convicted of beating Arabs and of committing other crimes during the Gaza disengagement. He is suspected of being the "serial stabber" mass murderer. If you consider this friend of yours to be one of the sweetest and most gentle people, I would HATE to run into your other friends!
22. #8 and 12 "Terroist" is a news paper headline
rebecca ,   Modiin   (07.14.10)
News papers, especially in Israel, are quite good at giving defamatory headlines to sell their papers.
23. Professors #8 and #12
Chatich   (07.14.10)
Once again the antisemites manage to miss the point. A "Jewish terrorist", if in fact that's what this man turns out to be, is so rare, so unusual, that his mere existance as such becomes news. Had the headline read 'muslim terrorist', nobody would have even batted an eye. In fact, many, myself included, would suggest the inclusion of the word 'muslim' to be redundant in that context, like saying 'feline cat' or 'cold-blooded reptile'.
24. #6
Someguy ,   Israel   (07.14.10)
When they say 90's it can be 1999 so its not a big hole in the story...
