doctor ,   il   (07.15.10)
i totally respect the judges rule to all of this mess. but if you compare and switch places just for a moment. the palis would lynch an israeli or shoot him in the head with live ammo. any piece of justice? none! i think palis should give some respect, that we're not barbarians like them, otherwise they wouldn't be around for long.
2. Convicted of "Attempted Threats"???
Doug ,   Rochester, USA   (07.15.10)
Why not Assault and Battery with a Deadly Weapon. Why not Terrorizing a Civilian? "Burberg's military career will be significantly damaged as a result". Oh my! What a horrible punishment. Now he will not be able to order any more shootings of handcuffed Pals. Thus taking away his favorite pastime. Good thing there was the video and good thing the human rights group pursued this to the High Court.
3. # 1 thats why you wouldn't be here

how many israeli got killed and how many palestinian got killed from nov 2, 1917 s.o.p balfour till now?

David, Doctor of Law ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (07.15.10)
"I think palis should give some respect, that we're not barbarians like them". You're a DOCTOR? Since I've moved here, I am BLOWN AWAY by the amount of racism people eat, drink, and breath. This Pali, who did nothing but protest, who has since had his brother murdered by the IDF, was blindfolded, cuffed, and then shot at at point blank, and you have the GALL to claim that Palis would "just lynch an Israeli or shoot him"? What are you even talking about? You are aware that like 1000+ Palestinians die in Gaza while only a handful of Israeli-Jews have died. Oh yes, "they" are barbarian. ~10,000 prisoners vs. 1 Israeli prisoner, "they" are barbarian. Blindfolded, cuffed, execution style attack on unarmed protester...and "he" is the barbarian? I hope your paranoia provides an excuse to your children for your abject racism. People like you have done for the image of Jews in the diaspora what bin Laden did for Arabs. THANKS!

6. a bit of clarification for all you loons & haters...
yahudi ,   israel   (07.15.10)
...this arab was shot in the TOE by a RUBBER bullet...this is the kind of proof you bring against the IDF to support your claims of our supposed barbarity? and as for this abu-rahma, who supports "severe sentences" for the soldiers, i wonder what he recommends for all the arabs sitting in jail for the MURDER of jews, innocent jews, unlike abu-rahma and the rest of the violent mob who regularly provokes the israeli military within the confines of closed military areas....WHAT A JOKE!!!!!
7. T o David doctor of law # 4
David ,   USA /ISRAEL /EGYPT   (07.15.10)
Tel Aviv is no longer immune from being hit with missiles. Are you embarrassed that not as many Israelis got killed compare to Palestinians. Farther more there is a reason why we have 10000 Palestinians in jail. For a doctor in law you are not very bright
8. #1 "doctor"
Salma ,   Palestine   (07.15.10)
Is your husband allowed you to work or not yet?! By the way, you are Doctor of what?!umm, guess, sure you're veterinarian !! sorry ,here only people talking with each other, there is no other creatures for you to talk to them!
9. #4 thanks David,
Salma ,   Palestine   (07.15.10)
I have a deep sense that you studied law outside of "Israel" ;) right?!
10. Dr. David, what kind of law do you practice?
Brian Cohen ,   Judean PeoplesFront   (07.15.10)
Definitely not the law of reason and logic, that's for sure. Did you ever notice that your Palestinian colleagues have never prosecuted any Palestinian for attacking Israeli civilians? As a "professional" why doesn't that bother you? I see that you're very high and mighty about who the barbarians are, yet you have nothing to say about your Palestinian buddies not only never prosecuting those who attack us, but they actually encourage war crimes! Not just encourage, but Goldstone (your fellow jurist), Amnesty Intl and Human Rights Watch all concluded that the Pals commit war crimes on a regular basis. So, Mr. Lawyer, you seem to be happy to sit in your Tel Aviv office raking in the big legal bucks and singing praises of the enemies who would gladly fire rockets at you if they could. We're the barbarians? Why dontcha go to Google Images and do a search for "palestinian collaborator". Have a look and tell us how civilized the Pallies are. Then tell us how the Palestinians send a woman bomber into a family restaurant where she looks around herself at the families and little kids, then pushed the button and blows 'em all to pieces, and cripples a dozen more. You sound like you just got off the boat from Berkeley or something, and know nothing about the reality of the country you moved to. Wow. You've never even heard about the Israelies who've been murdered in cold blood by Palestinian lynch mobs? How the hell did you ever get a PhD if you're so ignorant?
11. :: Yahudi - #6 - Why?
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (07.15.10)
Yahudi as you well know these 'rubber bullets' have been know to kill and seriously maim people even when fired from a distance. Regardless of how deadly rubber bullets can bee perhaps you can answer this question - *why* did the IDF shoot a bound Palestinian at point-blank range when he obviously posed no threat whatsoever? Did they fire this rubber bullet which can maim and kill as a ‘joke’?
12. #4 dear doctor
SomeGuy ,   Israel   (07.15.10)
You can hardly blame 1 side by getting a better army/ not using human shields for being a less moral army. What happened in Gaza is that Israel had a better army, cared for its soldiers and here we go: shot the human shields (not the best moral action but its understandable). On the other hand Hamas used human shields, shot his own people, Hamas soldiers ran in civilian cloths, and had a shity army. Its true thou, you can't call a people barbarians, they are human beings just like us and nothing less. But notice here the change, Israel blames soldiers for doing this sort of thing and arrests them, on the other hand Hamas encourages murder and such so about what side is more moral I think it’s an easy one. When you say so much people are racists you may be right but on their side I don't think its much better, in Denmark there's the same amount of racism against the Swedes, French have racism against Germans, Greeks has racism against Turks, etc. What I mean is: it's so very common that a country is filled with racism against its neighbors and Israel is nothing special so you can't blame the Israeli people on this one.
13. Thank Gd haredim don't serve in this corrupt army
Moshe   (07.15.10)
an army that’s more concerned about the welfare of terrorist than their own soldiers. Sick and as sick as can be!
14. Brian Cohen , calm down baby,
Salma ,   Palestine   (07.15.10)
Should Dr. David, to say that the Palestinians are "barbarians", so he'll deserve your respect?!! your problem Brian, as the world's problem , that you always ignore the reasons, and focus on results! thus, we turn in a vicious circle. Know what? We are civilized human being, you must thank God that your enemies are WE, the Palestinians
15. War Crimes and the New Media
Truth Teller   (07.15.10)
It's sad to see apologists for these soldiers and for the Jewish terrorist, Pearlman. Human blood is equally valuable regardless of ethnic, religious, or any other background. Palestinians know that Israel looks the other way when they are the victims, unless there is an embarrassing/overwhelming evidence. For example, the live TV and human rights groups' videos have exposed Israel's war crimes beyond the shadow of the doubt. I live here in NY and I watched Israel's war crimes in Gaza live on Aljazeera English (livestation.com). You don't have to bomb the USS Liberty, as Israel did in 1967, to hide your actions/war crimes. It's also sad that somebody who grew up in USA (Pearlman) is more blood thirsty than those who grow up in the al-Qaida-infested areas of Pakistan/Afghanistan. Unfortunately, terrorists are everywhere, and they all should be condemned.
16. Shame!!!!
Ricardo Macher ,   Karnei Shomron IL   (07.15.10)
Seems to be that people don't understand that the problem is not if the arabs are barbarians or the most cultured people. The problem is that we have in JAG somebody who believes that he will be judged with sympathy if he attacks IDF's soldiers morale being "politically correct". The problem is that we care about what "the world" may say, ignoring the truth: The world doesn't care about who's right and who's wrong, they care about their interests and if we keep being "politically correct" we will disappear since the middle east is not the Versailles Palais but a really rough place! Arabs should praise Mandelblit for his work!!!
17. Some Clear Thinking
Jason, Ph.D. ,   Charlotte, USA   (07.15.10)
I am proud of the military court for doing the right thing. While Israel is far from perfect, its government is a beacon of light compared to the governments of its neighbors.
18. Clarification: Gaza War
Smith ,   TA, Israel   (07.15.10)
Over 80% of the fatalities caused in the Gaza War were inflicted by the Israeli Air Force and not the ground forces of the IDF. "The human shields" were not shot. Whoever was the morally delinquent person to say that as justification. The soldiers and officers to complain about the conduct of the IDF during the Gaza War were all from the ground forces because they saw the results of the air forces assaults on the civilian population. Why has not a single pilot been pulled up for questioning? Money and socio-economic class. Poor soldiers get punished a scapegoats. Rich, educated killers in F-16s and Apache Helicopters go on to work in the best jobs in Israel.
19. our soldiers
michael Pielet ,   boca raton, Israel   (07.15.10)
the next time we need our soldiers, they will not come to defend us. I do not blame them! Beinish wants to be defended. However jews other than her have no right to defense
20. This soldier should be commended
Barry ,   Tokyo   (01.01.11)
He was only doing his job in suppressing violent terror supporters. Israel needs to defend itself.
