Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (07.19.10)
who are these so called rabbis, a bunch of leftist crazies who want to give Israel to the terrorists and call themselves humanitarians.
3. BIG difference b/t aliens and citizens stripped of rights

4. # 2 - Advise from a rabbit in LA who cant even make aliah
Avi ,   Israel   (07.19.10)
Yes im sure you would know all about the rent situation in Tel aviv from command head quaters in LA. You yourself cannot commit to Israel by making aliah yet feel free to lecture us on how to run our lives. Since when have the the African immigrants been involved in terrorist activites in Israel, please provide the evidence if not then i suggest you shove your ignorant head down your rabbit hole. Amen sister
5. They Should Learn What Jewish Values Really Are
JM ,   Israel   (07.19.10)
Becasue obviously they are confused with extreme liberalism - Jewish Law requires giving all equal rights to a Ger Toshav - the conditions are that they follow the laws of the land and the 7 Noahide laws - as illegals, they are NOT following the laws of the land, and it puts Jews at risk both physicially and economically it cannot be permitted. Respecting others does not mean giving up your own rights.
6. Thank Goodness
EM ,   Ra'anana   (07.19.10)
That there is still a strong voice in this country against discrimination, racism, bigotry. Thank goodness that there are still people here whose memory of our collective painful past inspired them to show compassion for others. How can any Jew...especially rabbis even think about denying refugees a refuge from suffering.
7. #4 I doubt Bunnie was talking about the illegal aliens here.
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (07.19.10)
More about leftist political misconceptions in general. In any case, here's the gist of it - these people came here illegally. They are not, by and large, refugees, but rather migrants seeking work, coming from much poorer countries than ours. A few are Sudanese refugees, but those of them who are from Darfur are very few - this was even noted by several Sudanese who write in English websites over the years, as the Sudanese who feature in our news reports are from South Sudan, which hasn't had a conflict for a very long time now. What we have, mostly, are second-hand refugees who don't want to stay in Egypt, poor Eriterians seeking better employment, and so on... and in the process, we're getting increased crime rates and fear. There are now several more streets in Tel-Aviv where people are afraid to walk through during the evening, least of all the night. The refugees among these illegals should be given some form of support, but the illegal migrant workers? Far from it. They're already coming here in such large quantities that we can't handle the amounts.
8. Good for them
Israeli   (07.19.10)
I am in south tel aviv alot and this issue is blown out of proportion by local residents- the threat is in their mind and they are using the foreigners as a scapegoat.
9. Rabbis for human rights
zionist forever   (07.19.10)
Pretty much explains why they reject a ban on renting homes to illegals. There might be a religious element to it there might not but all Israelis should be fighting illegal immigration and wanting to make life as difficult for them as possible . We should not be welcoming them to Israel which the human rightists would have us do.
10. Two and a half million Africans are on Egyptian soil...
Laurence ,   Israel   (07.19.10)
waiting for a chance to cross the border illegally into Israel, that's what told Interior Security Minister Yitzchak Aharonovich to the cabinet ministers Sunday. . This pseudo-rabbis are nothing more than ultra-leftists who are seeking to destabilize our country. These Africans are a real threat to our country, since their venue violence and harassment have raised in Tel Aviv. People in the southern neighbouhood are afraid to go out after downfall. In Europe all the countries are taking drastic measures to stop the flow and here instead of learning the lesson we are still taking about human rights. Which human rights ? These PEOPLE ARE ILLEGALS, the infiltrators are not asylum seekers but rather people who want to improve their financial situation and avoid army service in their home countries. There is a law in Israel, why should they be above the law? they have to be deported. More than 1000 infiltrators a month is absolutely unbearable.
11. It says illegal immigrant.
John ,   Accra,Ghana   (07.19.10)
Apartment should not be rented to illegal immigrant. It did not say legal immigrant.I don't see anything racist about this. Those westerners bashing on Israel i want to ask them, are illegals in Europe allowed to work?.They are not recognize .
12. #7 Roman in reply
Avi ,   Israel   (07.19.10)
Well i think as the article is realting to so called illegal immigrants in south tel aviv it is fair to presume she is. Its is absolute rubbish to claim that this is putting up rent prices in tel aviv as we are speaking about the slumb neighborhoods of south tel aviv. How dare she make such comments from the comfort of LA what does she know. she cant even make aliah yet feels free to lecture others on internal Israeli matters which is none of her bussiness. Talking of dangerous neighborhoods i suggest she triees walking through Meir Shaareem with out being attacked by the charideem. She is not an israeil citiizen , did not serve in the IDF and is not an Israeil tax payer. She then claims that these people are terrorists, just goes to show how cut off from life in Israel she has become yet cannont commit to making aliah.
13. Which only means they stand to lose money
Israel   (07.19.10)
If they are really so full of love - they'd stop rioting every second and stop hating anything that isn't like them. Make your minds up - LOSERS!
