Becasue obviously they are confused with extreme liberalism - Jewish Law requires giving all equal rights to a Ger Toshav - the conditions are that they follow the laws of the land and the 7 Noahide laws - as illegals, they are NOT following the laws of the land, and it puts Jews at risk both physicially and economically it cannot be permitted. They are not, by and large, refugees, but rather migrants seeking work, coming from much poorer countries than ours. A few are Sudanese refugees, but those of them who are from Darfur are very few - this was even noted by several Sudanese who write in English websites over the years, as the Sudanese who feature in our news reports are from South Sudan, which hasn't had a conflict for a very long time now. What we have, mostly, are second-hand refugees who don't want to stay in Egypt, poor Eriterians seeking better employment, and so on... and in the process, we're getting increased crime rates and fear. There are now several more streets in Tel-Aviv where people are afraid to walk through during the evening, least of all the night. The refugees among these illegals should be given some form of support, but the illegal migrant workers? Far from it. They're already coming here in such large quantities that we can't handle the amounts.

I am in south tel aviv alot and this issue is blown out of proportion by local residents- the threat is in their mind and they are using the foreigners as a scapegoat.
