1. Palestine was lost because Turkey was weak
Kemal ,   Turkey   (07.20.10)
British mandate would have not happened had Turkey been strong. It’s the responsibility of Turkey to help Palestinians and to free Palestine.
2. :: Syria, Turkey end blockade on Kurdistan
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (07.20.10)
LONG LIVE INDEPENDENT KURDISTAN IN IRAN, IRAQ, SYRIA AND TURKEY!
3. Assad's trousers
fenfen ,   London, UK   (07.20.10)
someone should tell him that they are too short!
4. Never End The Blockade Unless.....
Sheik Rattle & Roll ,   USA   (07.20.10)
The terrorist entity (Hamas) that is responsible for numerous (suicide bombings) renounces terrorism and recognizes Israel. It is disgusting that Turkey (NATO Member) is aligning itself with the Axis of evil. Turkey should be booted out of NATO. Syria was a little better behaved when Bush was in office because it knew that Bush was not afraid to pull the trigger.
5. golan heights
alexi   (07.20.10)
Golan is ancient israeli, and was returned in defensive war after syria illegally grabbed it after the breakup of the ottomon. Its not up for discussion. Israel is prepared discuss peace for peace and good neighbourly relaitons. Otherwise, forget it.
6. End Blockade Only If Gilad Shalit is released!
Jethro ,   Marquette, MI   (07.20.10)
Israel needs to use this as leverage to release Gilad Shalit. Arabs can scream and yell all they want, but why should the blockade end while Gilad Shalit is still in captivity. Turn it around to negotiate Shalits Freedom! Israel should show that they are willing to end the blockade, but don't do it for free!
7. :: Because Turkey was weak it lost the entire Middle East
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (07.20.10)
Like many other Empires Ottoman Turkey disintegrated during WW1. Now the Lesser Ottoman Turkish Empire located in Asia Minor must be dissolved too, all land returned to native Armenians, Kurds, Greeks, Arabs, Bulgarians, Persians. The occupying Asiatic Turks will return to their Uighurstan homeland.
8. :: Assad must demand from Davutoglu: RETURN HATAY TO SYRIA!
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (07.20.10)
9. The Turkish and the Syrian
Johnny ,   Nazareth   (07.20.10)
are talking about crimes, what a comedy! Are these guys for real? How could these Hypocrites open their mouth when Turkey alone in 90 years had killed millions of people, 1.5 milllion armenians, millions of Hellenes and assyrians and tens of thousands of Kurds. Just last year Turkey killed 20000 kurds. Syria is massacring the kurds and the assyrian. That Lebanese idiot al hariri is a puppy in their hands, a puppy in the hand who killed his father, shame on him, I won't call him a man because he doesn't deserve to be called a man. It's time that the world acknowledges and admits the horrendous actions of these people. God will punish any country that goes against Israel. God Bless Israel.
10. #1, that will bring Israel to take responsibility to free
Erdoğan is a rogue   (07.20.10)
Cyprus and Kurdistan from Occupying Turkey and needless to say, to exercise all its influence in The U.S.A senate to acknowledge the full responsibility of Turkey to the Armenian Holocaust. Do you really want to try it?
11. Israel, end the blockade?
Gabe ,   London, England   (07.20.10)
How refreshing would it be to see the headline, 'Hamas, end the blockade' because that's the reality of the situation. We are all aware of the reasons for the blockade: Israel exited Gaza, Hamas was elected and repeatedly fires rockets into Israel......So, in order to protect its people, Israel has enforced a blockade. Simple as that. Instead of continuously blaming Israel for the devastation that is Gaza, perhaps international bodies should focus their energies on the real issue: Hamas. Recognise Israel, commit to peace and halt all rocket attacks and there will be no blockade.
12. Blockades, under international law, are acceptable as a ...
Ron B. ,   Lod   (07.20.10)
Blockades, under international law, are acceptable as a deterrent to smuggling. Israel pulled out of Gaza fully and completely three years ago. Since then an armed conflict, begun by Hamas-controlled Gaza, continues. Arms have been smuggled into Gaza through tunnels and by sea, and Israel's response of a blockade is proper. Blockades, under international law, are acceptable as a deterrent to such smuggling, and include civilian as well as enemy ships. Criteria as specified by international law for conducting such actions have been followed by Israel. Israel has offered the use of land routes to import the materials, but the Free Gaza group has declined. As to the popularity of Hamas : http://xrl.us/bhp5ho
13. Legitimising terror
DT ,   TA Israel   (07.20.10)
Would one expect anything different from genocidal and terrorist regimes ? Situation normal and after all they will get backing from the EU who advocate talking with Hamas
14. Sorry, but the real leaders say:
Salma ,   Palestine   (07.20.10)
FREE PALESTINE this is the issue
15. #11 Gabe: WORD
Andre Saleh ,   Detroit   (07.20.10)
That is the reality of the situation. The meeting and conclusions of said countries are an ominous sign of their intentions and allegiances.
16. End the blockade??
Seanc ,   Montreal, Quebec   (07.20.10)
Maintaining power in Syria is a rather ruthless proposition. One doubts that the quality of naivety is what keeps the dentist in power, so why put forward such a naive proposal? While the reasons behind the blockade are a great deal more complicated than suggested in these talkbacks, it is unreasonable to assume that Israel would be prepared to unilaterally lift it. Its existence is a human tragedy but lifting it would be suicidal not only for the Jewish people but any of its citizens. There is nothing discriminate about the targets chosen by someone hell bent on suicide. The passenger on the bus could just as likely be Muslim as Jewish. Eventually the territories will have to be included in a greater Israel. This will require compromises not envisioned by the founders of the modern state of Israel. There are countless examples of atrocities committed in theocratic states which don't accept deviation from the norm. It is myopic to think variations of these transgressions are not taking place daily within the territories. There is no security in a two state solution and no hope for the Palestinians under such a model. Why pay lip service to a strategy whereby both sides lose?
17. #14 Empty slogans
Deb ,   US   (07.20.10)
These jokers could care less about you.
18. Israel must determine policy in accordance with its needs
sam   (07.20.10)
Like virtually every political step Israel has taken since 1991, the Disengagement from Gaza and the blockade of Hamas was done under the assumption that if Israel took the most moderate path possible (short of actual national suicide) the world community would be reasonable about it and work together to isolate the "extremists" and stabilize the region. That assumption has been repeatedly shown to be false. The world is not interested in being reasonable. It has no litmus test that Muslim terrorists can ever fail, and no test that Israel can ever pass.
19. Turkey
Ezrahi1   (07.20.10)
In the comming ellections the Turkish people will have to ellect between Erduan-IHH and Ataturk
20. As a turkish Kurd...
Kurd ,   Türkiye   (07.20.10)
... I am proud of Erdogan. 70 % of turkish Kurds are strictly for Erdogan... We will integrate Northern Iraq to Türkiye in 2011. Do not believe that you could colonize the Kurds as you did with the Arabs. Nobody is trusting you...
21. :: Fake Kurd #20 and real Turkish government agent
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (07.20.10)
I talk to dozens of Turkish Kurds in Turkey and outside Turkey. Every single one of them wants independence from Turkey. Some were at first hesitant to talk about this for fear that I might be a Turkish provocateur, but after warming up a little bit they all expressed the same opinion. This is why #20 is an agent of the Turkish government
22. Rid hamas scum from Gaza - no blockade...
Lee ,   Manchester UK   (07.20.10)
it really is that straight forward. Until then the blockade stays a reality! Sort your own terror beds out first Syria and Turkey.
23. #1 - Turks were biggest abusers of Arabs
William ,   Israel   (07.20.10)
The Arabs fought against the Turks in WWI, remember??? I know the Turks do, so helping the "Palestinians" is not exactly their first priority considering the hell they brought many countries in the region for 90 years.
24. Is Turkey, Syria upset at not being able to visit new mall?
William ,   Israel   (07.20.10)
Yeah, that blockade is really horrible. Terrorists from Damascus and Tehran can't shop in Gaza's new mall which is stocked with the latest fashions and food. Did you see all those starving (aka - FAT) Gazans in their torn (aka - latest fashion) clothes? It makes one want to cry.
25. #14 - only works if "Pals" say it to themselves
William ,   Israel   (07.20.10)
Because the only ones who keep "Palestine" under siege is the "Palestinians" themselves....and the racist hate they exhibit it trying to wipe out another State and its population, and the greedy, corrupt leaders they follow. Only with honest leaders can an honest society emerge. So until you make "Palestine" free among yourselves, demanding it from anyone else is futile.
26. :: Kurdish Liberation Army just eliminated 7 members
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (07.20.10)
of the Turkish occupying entity.
27. No Kemal, Resad Ataturk's bigraphy
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (07.20.10)
written by Lord Kinross. You will learn why Mustafa Kemal did not want to defend the Arabs. When He was in Damascus and Ismet Inonu in Baghdad fighting the British and the French Arabs surrounded Ataturk's residence shouting slogans against Turks and getting ready to attack Turks. Ataturk sent a telegram to Ismet Pasa and told him that these people were not worth one dead Turkish soldier and he should immediately return to the then unofficial MISAK-MILLI Borders. It was not that Turkey was weak, it was because Arabs did not appreciate it. Arabs were in bed with the enemies of Turkey stabbing Turks in the back. Ask Ali Kocatepe, his late father (our close family friends) was there.
28. #20 - Yes but
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (07.20.10)
in all the eastern Kurdish part of Turkey it is BDP winning elections despite all the restrictions. (You know I am talking about the 10% vote requirement) . It is teh Ahmet Turk's Baydar's etc getting more votes running independent then AKP running as a party.
