1. Surely nothing to be proud of. Shameful!
(07.21.10)
2. Haredim !!!!!!!!
Sagi   (07.21.10)
Please stop this abomination before the fate of Tel Aviv is sealed in a similar fashion to Sodom and Gomorrah. Azrieli will become 3 crystalized towers of salt and the central bus station will be bombarded by fire and brimstone so that future generations of archaeologists will not be able to find it.
3. gay avek also cute slogan
ok, we heard   (07.21.10)
keep quiet another one
4. thanks for the warning now I know not
ghostq   (07.21.10)
to visit the city again, people look for straigt hook up places will stick to different cities. beside gay men find me atractive, I don't mind the hints but No touching. that is y I will keep away.
5. yes...by all means...bring hordes of aids
JL   (07.21.10)
and hopefully those in the government that sanction this...well ...maybe their children will be infected...or introduced to the gay lifestyle...
6. inviting destruction full speed !!
aviG   (07.21.10)
we should put the state on trial, but who cares ??
7. Shush talkbackers, we are very proud!!!
Gay Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (07.21.10)
This is an amazingly vibrant city and more people should visit us.
8. Gay Tel Aviv
NYC Girl   (07.21.10)
No doubt this is going to make some people apoplectic, but it's great to see Israel being recognized as the liberal and inclusive society (with a few exceptions) that it really is. And as far as AIDS and HIV are concerned, they're now a greater threat in the heterosexual community because gays are much more cautious...while too many straight people think it can't happen to them, and as a result are still behaving recklessly.
9. A light on to the nations.
Schmidlap ,   Canada   (07.21.10)
In this case, it looks like the light switch has been turned off and darkness has set in.
10. Suspicious
Gershon ,   London UK   (07.21.10)
Notice that everyone consistently attacks Israel for anything and everything they do . I f they are pro this - it MUST be bad news. A bit like Neturei karta congratulating Arafat for Oslo - you know its gotta be bad for Israel.
11. I've nothing against gays...
martine ,   ashdod   (07.21.10)
but reading that the municipality and the tourism ministry are encouraging the projects irks me. The gays are a community, they do what they want to do, that's their problem if they don't want to change, but seeing the authorities being a part of that is a shame. We are living in a Holy Land that lots of people envy! what are we going to do now that this abomination is in our second greatest city? and those countries that encourage their citizens to come, what do they want? Our destruction?
12. History repeats itself
Baruch ,   Boston, USA   (07.21.10)
I always wondered how in times of Tana'kh, the kingdom split into Israel and Judea. But you see it happening before your very eyes. And we know that HaShem made the idol-worshiping Israel be conquered and disappear. We are descendants of Judea. In the next war, with Iran or Hezbollah, or Hamas, or all of them, the missiles will be aimed, unfortunately, at Tel Aviv, Netanya, Herzliya, etc. The haredim and dati'im in Yerushalayim will still be around to continue living according to Torah. Israel needs to wake up and stop priding itself on spreading debauchery and abnormal behavior.
13. Shameful !
Yaakov ,   Paris, France   (07.21.10)
When will you understand that the Land of Israel is NOT and will NEVER be a "country like every other one" ? What do you have to be proud of if more of these people come into Israel and practice their abominations there, isnĀ“t it enough the locals ?
14. You all sound like muslims choking on hate.
Lee ,   Manchester UK   (07.21.10)
did God personally make any of you judge and jury over other human beings? I would say to the Orthodox and 'ultradox' - DEFEND YOUR COUNTRY! Some of us would be more than willing to take your place but can't. If you have all this hate then the hate vented by muslims onto you must be karma. I love Israel and Jews unconditionally, i tell any gay friends i have that don't know that Israel is the only nation for hundreds miles either side where all people are FREE including gay people, that is something Israel should be proud of. Don't you understand the implications of this all you that judge and quote God? This is good for Israel. God made some people gay - GET OVER IT, talk to him about it instead of unleashing your muslim flavoured hate. Straight people are spreading aids these days NOT gay people, how ignorant and sanctimonious you all are. I feel for Israel with specimens like you in it. God bless Israel, and i hope Tel Aviv really takes off. Shalom.
15. *4 'gay men find you attractive' - get OVER yourself ..
Lee ,   Manchester UK   (07.21.10)
ROTFLMFTO
16. Abomination in Tel Aviv
Daniel Eliezer ,   Efrat   (07.21.10)
The Torah says that gay relations is evil. It brings destruction. I believe a war is about to break out. Only ,Teshuva, Zedaka, Tefilla. will stop the missiles
17. New marketing tip
Moishe ,   Golutsk   (07.21.10)
Rename Tel-Aviv to Sodom.
18. Wrong
Tony ,   Melbourne, Australia   (07.21.10)
I'm not against gays, they are free to do whatever they like but 'Gay Tel Aviv' sounds a little bit embarrassing. It could do long term damage to the image of the city, I hope Tel Aviv doesn't end up like some areas in Thailand which people associate with girls for hire. These places attract all sorts of sex tourists and that seedy reputation is hard to shake. Does Tel Aviv really want to go down that path? Can't they focus the campaign on Christian and Jewish tourists instead - show them all the holy sights of their respective religions, promote spiritual activities and a wholesome image.
19. Agree with #14. your All angry hateful loons
Ron ,   Tel Aviv   (07.21.10)
The comment on bringing aids? And the comment on the destruction of a nation? This ynet story is available globally and in English, so I assume your all olim from most likely America and as your reading Anglo sites . Anyway, your hateful comments belong in iran. Yea, Iran. Puts it all into perspective. Ashamed to be a Jew with comments like this on our international newspapers. Ynet please print comment.
20. According to the Torah
Yossef   (07.21.10)
only the waste of semen is reproved. Sex between women, as far as I remember, is OK with the principles of judaism. :-)
21. Israel - the holy land for gay culture
zionist forever   (07.21.10)
I have no problem with Tel Aviv hosting gay cultural events its the right place for such things in Israel but Tel Aviv should not be trying to sell itself abroad as some kind of gay capital of the world. Israel is supposed to be famous for its religious history and any Israeli city marketing itself abroad as a place for gay culture contradicts the idea of a country who is famous for religion. It doesn't matter if its Tel Aviv or Jerusalem to tourists there is no difference its Israel the Holy Land marketing itself to gays. Advertising Tel Aviv as the place to go if your gay might even harm tourism. When the average family with young children thinking about visiting Israel for the first time find out about Tel Avivs being the place to come if your gay they are going to think twice and might see the place as some kind of sleazy city. Tel Aviv needs to decide does it want its future 21st century identity is going to be a place to come with the family or a place to come if your gay. Its not easy to market yourself to both when your talking about such extreme differences - family or sex.
22. Great news for Israel !
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.21.10)
And for Tel Aviv of course . WE need peacefull visitors who will know how life here is , who will love it , and promote our peace loving country when returning home . Is there no error in the price tag ? 340 million ILS seems very much money to me
23. We're sick of them in our faces everywhere
Baruch ,   Boston, USA   (07.21.10)
They want undeserved respect, but they don't respect anyone else. The GLBT crowd never changes. They have to keep throwing around disparaging names and comments to counteract the true claim that what they do is unnatural and an embarrassment to the rest of the countries they live in. they call us bigoted, ignorant, hateful, and thus try to deny us an intelligent evaluation that they just don't happen to like. then they push their unnatural behavior into everyone's faces with their gay parades and tourism. They are just a sick bunch. It's not a religious issue, but they use a current antagonism towards Islam and Haredi Jews to build up an alliance with others.
24. #14 - Great Point!
Roy   (07.21.10)
25. Haaretz have got detail what the tourism ministry is doing
zionist forever   (07.21.10)
You don't usually find any stories on Haaretz that haven't just been turned into secular left wing propoganda but this time they are covering this story and it really shows how bad things are. http://www.haaretz.com/business/economy-finance/sex-tourism-to-israel-knesset-members-fume-at-porn-ads-1.223549 This is about more than just promoting gay events in Tel Aviv. The Tourism Ministry itself seems to be in favor of actually creating a sex tourism industry.
26. To #16
Michael ,   New York   (07.21.10)
Please tell me Daniel, WHERE does it say that gay relations are evil in Torah? you really think this will bring war? Are you so engrossed in your religion and books that you can't see the world before you? I suspect that G-d would not want you to look at the world that way.
27. 25 , this article is NOT related to our story
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.21.10)
28. Publicizing Tel Aviv as a "gay city" has
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (07.21.10)
advantages as far as tourism but it does tend to irk (to say the least) our charedi population and possibly others plus the Arab and Druse populations both in Israel, Gaza and the Westbank. Remember, Arabs are dealing with the effects of modernization, the loss of power within the home and loss of tradition. Israel, being the proximate influence, is being blamed. So I am very hesitant about the abovenoted publicity.
29. omg great news! LOVE TLV!!!
Jasom ,   New york   (07.21.10)
30. Its ok baruch we're fed up seeing people like u
